Honestly... A lot was going on now. A lot was changing... As if Yang Xiao Long and a male version of Beth wasn't bad enough, now it looked like the cast from Undertale was starting to crawl out of the woodwork too... And even more then that, a female version of ME! .... Still, she seems very nice... And Lizzie seems to really like her too... Hmmm. I wonder though....

Once everyone had left (Though Yang stayed a little longer to catch her breath and help Alex clean up a bit to make up for the fighting in town), about the only ones left in the apartment were Alex, Lizzie and Erin. Lizzie had fallen asleep on the floor, looking full and content. With a smile, Alex made a void barrier covering for his arms and picked the sleeping spirit up, starting to carry her up the steps with a float.
"Adorable isn't she?" Erin said, joining her male self as they floated on up.
"Haha, yeah. Looking after her the past few months has been such a pleasure. It's like we've finally found some sense of a normal life, just existing as a brother and a sister." The thief chuckled a little bit as they reached the top of the steps. "It was a really nice feeling... And I could tell she was having fun with it. Like I was." Erin chuckled at the sentimental sap, prompting a blush. "What?"
"Oh nothin'.... It's just...." She looks down. "Now I'm starting to wish my 'Lizzie' survived...."
"Oh uh... You mean your Lizzie wasn't a guy?"
"Hehehe... I can understand why you'd think that, but no... She was a girl... And she was perfect..." She sighs. "Perfect and precious and wonderful...." She reached over and opened the door for Alex, allowing him to walk in with Lizzie and deposit the sleeping sprite on the bed...
When he walked back out though, the two thieves looked each other over.

...... They supposed this made sense.... And really, only one question came to their minds... What do they make of each other? What do they call each other-?

"..... I'm... Not really tired yet..."

The two sat down on the couch next to each other, the TV turned on, a movie paused. Alex had turned on 'The Muppet Movie' so they could watch in intervals during their talks.... Or... At least that was the plan anyway... They had already moved past Kermit's first meeting with Doc Hopper, by the time Alex finally paused the movie, finding the nerve to talk. Erin meanwhile seemed to tense up a little bit when she noticed this.
"So.... Um..... What are.... Some of the things you like to do for hobbies?"
"Well..... Video Games is one thing... I really like sports games mainly, like boxing, tennis, baseball-"
"Even though the baseball games basically look like carbon copies of each other?"
"Hey don't say that, they always tweak little things in new releases like balance and graphics and...." She notes the look. ".... PHEW... Okay fine I do find that EXTREMELY annoying. Like, I know, it's baseball, there's not much you CAN do to deviate things and make it more interesting, but YOU CAN AT LEAST TRY."
"I know right??? I mean, that's why I never bother with sports games in the first place! They don't change much of anything! Sure graphics are great-"
"But they don't constitute out for better gameplay!"
"What about Football games?"
"Which one? Football Football or Soccer Football?"
"DOES IT MATTER~?" He grinned.
"AAAAAAAAGH~!!!" The girl threw her hands in the air, her exasperation showing in a more comedic light then anything else, prompting the two to burst out laughing............... "Well... What about you? What is it you like doing?"
Alex considered this, looking at the sporty girl sitting there next to him, wearing that shirt. The one with the Steven Universe shirt and simple jeans... It made him feel awkward noticing this. "Well... Same as you I guess.... But, on the opposite spectrum. I like fantasy, adventure type games, like Street Fighter, Pokemon, Dragon Quest Final Fantasy. That kind of thing." Erin seemed to be trying to hold in a grin after hearing this. "But I guess those aren't your types of things huh?"
She grins and stands up...
One Quickchange later, Erin was in her Gatz cosplay, the character from Megaman Legends 2 more then ringing a bell with Alex... Much to his sheer delight. "... OH MY GOD. YOU MEAN... YOU??"
"Are you also pissed off that Megaman Legends 3 never got a release date and Capcom toyed with our emotions???"
"DEFINITELY!! IT HAD SO MUCH PROMISE AND LEGENDS 2 ENDED ON A FUCKING CLIFFHANGER!!"
"WHICH IS OBNOXIOUS!!"
"EXTREMELY!!"
.............. The two stopped staring at each other a moment. The two were red in the face, looking so foolish for ranting about such things to someone in person... But actually looking somewhat refreshed by it. There was a giggle and a titter between the two... Then a laugh following after.

After that, the two started speaking more freely, the two focusing on each other's continuities and the natural questions to come from that topic. They spoke of many things, each other's lives, their tastes in music, likes, dislikes... All the while muppet music played in the background. "... ORCANO-

"I KNOW RIGHT? He was such a jackass." Erin grinned, laughing to herself, as she recalled fondly what had occurred the last time she had heard from, what the Thief of Void could tell, was a male version of Orcana... UGH SHIVERS.......... "He always acted like he was the high and mighty thing that commanded respect- OH WAIT... If you're a male version of me... Does that mean you know a female version of Orcano~??" The girl bounced about in her seat. "Oh THIS I'VE GOT TO HEAR. How self-absorbed was she? Tell me everything~."

"............. UM... WOW? WHAT THE FUCK-? I JUST-" Yeeaaaaah, Erin wasn't sure what to say to all of this, nor what to make of what she was told. "That... REALLY happened???" Alex nodded simply, prompting Erin's eyebrows to raise a little higher... Then her eyes to wander. ".... W-WELL SHIT... Huh... I guess we dodged a pretty massive bullet in my timeline..."
The Thief stood up and let out a few breaths calming himself down. "From what I've found, Orcana going out of control is actually a rarity in our timelines. The only other person I've met from my timeline was my Arti." He notes the confused look as the female thief tried to absorb this. "Umm... You know... The Knight of Light? Sunburn?"
That seemed to prick at some recognition in Erin's expression as she nodded. "Oooooooh! Yeah, yeah, we call our Sunburn Vit. That's why the name didn't sound familiar." There was a light shrug. "Still... This is real heavy duty shit man... I wish there was something I could do to help..." She gets up too... Then, awkwardly, she placed a hand on Alex's shoulder. ".... Hey uh... Listen... I have one more question I have to ask ya..." IT looked like the question really weighed on her mind, placing a new weight on the conversation unlike anything they had felt before.
"... What do we even see each other as?"
The two stood there, unsure what to think.
"I'm... Not sure...." Alex's answer was sincere, confused. ".... But.... I think... I'd like to keep trying to find that out..."

The smile on Erin's face was genuine too... Alex had a strange feeling that if anyone could see the smile other then him, they would note the similarities between the two. "... Yeah.... Me too." ........... With that said, the girl pulled away, blushing a bit, grin still apparent...

"UM... JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR HERE, WE'RE NOT CONSIDERING... Well... YOU KNOW-..?"

"Good to hear it.... Phew... Anyway, I'm getting really tired..." The girl stretched herself out, finally popping her back into an appropriate place. "Oooh! That did it! Anyways, I'd better get going... I need to find some place to stay... At least for the night anyway.... I wonder what's still open at this time of night..." .... Alex looked to the girl oddly, taking in someone whom he had learned was in a similar situation to him. Even if she hadn't directly lost her session, she had still lost the game. She had lost any means of getting back the life she had before...
Plus he felt like he knew her general thoughts. That even though she would constantly be looking for independence, she wouldn't be looking too hard for it. That she would naturally drift to whatever place was simplest and easiest... It was how he had worked for the longest time before the game...
It was how he pictured this girl would work.
"You can... Stay here for a while if you want to." He said with a smile, motioning back up the stairs. "I mean, we have one more guest room upstairs you can take up. I won't lose too much sleep over it." He noted the starry eyed expression in Erin's eyes as she took in the offer, smiling widely. "Plus... You know... We're.... Like family anyways... We should look after each other."
.......... ".... Family huh...." Erin parroted this only once before floating up the steps, leaving Alex to perplex over what the heck just happened.... Still, as he did this, he saw Erin's head poke out from around the wall...
"..... Thanks.... Al. I really appreciate it."
And with that, the bashful girl vanished back around the corner.

The song came on the Muppet Movie. Introducing a serene feeling as Alex let out a breath...

I'm going to go back there someday."
..... He floated over to the couch and sat himself down in it.... Taking a moment to listen to the beautiful melody and lyrics...
It was almost... Odd... How the song came on when it did.... It almost... Started speaking directly to him.

In the guest room, Erin lay on the bed, her expression somber as she heard the song drift in from downstairs.... Slowly, her head turned to the window.... A perfect view of the starry sky await her there...

Lizzie snoozed peacefully, her head filled with images of going on new adventures with her new friends... Undyne, Papyrus, Erin, Todd, Beth... All of them.... Oh how much she wanted to go on those adventures... To see the island, to see it's amazing sights. To fight the good fight, to celebrate with her friends in their victories and mourn with them in their defeats...
All she knew though was that she would give it all she got... Because they were her family, and she would protect them zealously.
