Erin had let out a groan at Eevee's response. To be honest, Erin hadn't MEANT to panic the poor girl, she had enough problems to worry about at current. At Evelyn's questions, Erin let out a breath, and smiled to the girl kindly. "I'm sorry Eevee... I just had a rough day today... I'll tell you about it when you get a bit more healthy-."
No sooner did the girl say that then who should walk in through the door? Why none other then Todd himself, arriving at last after presumably checking his female self, Beth, into a hospital room. "Oh hey, Todd~. Nice of you to join us. How's Beth doing?" This was one of MANY questions she had concerning Todd's group, but better to focus on the more obvious one... She still felt sorry for Yang....

"Oh... Oh yes, absolutely. You g-go right ahead." With another nod, Alphys made her way towards the door. "Rest easy. I-I'll be out here... I'll see if I can get ahold of them..."
Upon stepping out, Alphys took a deep breath and tried to push that humiliating encounter aside, even though she knew too well that it was going to be burned into her subconscious for all eternity. Once her shaking had almost entirely ceased, she pulled out her phone and brought up Frisk's contact info. She quickly rung them up, pacing in the hallway with the phone against her ear. Finally, she heard the child greet her on the other end, cheerful as ever.
"Ah! Frisk! I-It's me! Alphys..." She laughed nervously; they had obviously figured that out already. "I-I finally found a way to transport myself here! I, uh... I'm in the hospital right now. I just spoke with Asgore."

Evelyn blinked in moderate surprise at Erin's exasperation. If anything, she found it a bit frustrating that everyone was forcing her out of the loop for the sake of her health (really, she felt FINE), but if things had gone as badly as Erin let on, Evelyn knew better than to force it out of her friend. "Oh... Alright. I-I understand. Sorry..."
She looked up and smiled when the warlock entered the room. "Hey Todd!" That smile disappeared again at Erin's question. "Beth...? D-Did something happen to...?"

"Doc had to give her something to knock her out and remove the blades. Ruby and Yang are keeping watch. And we're the next room over," Todd answered. "Recon turned into a fight for our lives.... some crazed maniac with a keyblade called Clockwork tried killing your male counterpart." Todd was stressed and it was apparent as he spoke and rambled slightly.

ERIN FACEPALMED AT TODD'S BLUNTNESS. "DUDE, REALLY. AFTER I JUST WENT OUT OF MY WAY TO KEEP EEVEE OUT OF THE LOOP FOR THE SAKE OF HER OWN HEALTH??"

"Wow! So you traveled here by yourself~? That was really brave of you Alphys~." There Frisk went, praising Alphys proudly, sounding so cheerful, hopeful and supportive. Really sometimes the lizard wondered why Frisk went to such effort. "Oh so you talked to Asgore huh? How did he look to you? Healing up well?" .... DID HE WORD THAT DELIBERATELY?
..... NO NO, don't be ridiculous. Frisk was flirty but-...
.... Wait Frisk WAS flirty. That and they did CONFIDENTLY guess correctly on her crush on Undyne AND King Asgore.

"Oh, well... O-Of course! I had to come! I was just so worried about all of you!" The heat from Alphys's blush could practically be felt through the phone. "But, uh... A-Asgore is doing well, from the... looks of things. He's just getting some rest for now." She hoped she had worded that well enough, because she REALLY didn't want to elaborate any further.
As she paced by the open door of another room, Alphys continued, "I-I saw that you had made some new friends! I hope they're looking after you well. I-I wasn't sure if you had found Undyne and the others yet..."

Evelyn didn't know what to say. For the longest time, she stared at Todd with eyes the size of saucers. Had she still been hooked up to a heart rate monitor, it would have been beeping at a speed akin to a bird's heartbeat. When she finally found the will to speak, her mouth felt as dry as the western desert, her voice hollow and not entirely her own.
"A... k... keyblade...?"

"I was answering her question and she has right to know Erin," Todd offered to his sister. He nodded to Eevee. "Yeah. Guy was sickly and wore a scarf of all God Tier symbols minus that of the winged star."

Erin was thoroughly tempted to strangle Todd for his absolute lack of tact. The last thing Eevee needed was some sort of terrifying news such as this while she was still in pretty sorry condition... It did NOT make her feel better when she saw Eevee's face go pale and her breathing go shallow. When Erin checked for a pulse it had accelerated. Dramatically. "YES AND NOW THANKS TO YOU IT FEELS LIKE SHE'S SUFFERING A FUCKING HEART ATTACK." She reaches over and grabs Todd's ear, pinching the nub and lifting, making her appear as if a mother disciplining a son. "Look Eevee, calm down, we won't let anything-"
That was when Eevee spoke...
............. Wait....
That sounded like a tone of recognition... "... Wait... You know what Todd's talking about-?"
Then she heard another voice just outside her door... Wait something about Undyne-?? Crap!! WHAT HORRIBLE TIMING!!! "Shit... Uh hey, Eevee Hold that thought a second." She was quick to rush for the door after the voice she had heard.

"No luck on finding Undyne or the others yet on my end... But hey, I only just got here after all, I'm not expecting that to be easy." Frisk said, sounding quite sure of themself at this. "Don't worry too much about me though, I'm in good hands with Bayo and miss Elsa. If you don't mind, you just keep an eye on Asgore for me? I might be a little bit, but I will be back in an hour or so."
Before Alphys could respond, she heard someone clear their throat behind her. If she looked, she'd find an older human standing there, around Undyne's height and age, dressed in odd robes and looking at her oddly.

Erin's frustration with Todd never seemed to register with Evelyn, nor did Erin's abrupt departure. She just sunk into her bed, shaking, forcefully hugging herself as if fearful that her heart would explode and rip the hole in her torso open again. "Oh God oh God oh God oh God oh God..."

Alphys smiled as Frisk spoke, certainly giving the impression that they were in good hands, much to her relief. She was about to express this when she heard someone clearing their throat, turning around to find a human woman. She seemed to be staring right at Alphys. Her stare felt rather piercing, perhaps not intentionally so, but still. Alphys had to look over her shoulder to check if there was anyone else she could have been looking at, but there was no one there. Then, facing her again, Alphys grinned awkwardly, raised a finger to silently say that she would be a moment, then returned her attention to the child over the phone.
"W-Well, I'm glad that you're okay. I'll certainly do... whatever I can to h-help. P-Perhaps I could call Undyne, Papyrus and Sans... i-if you think I should..."

"Evelyn. Take a deep breath. I shouldn't have unloaded that information on you. You can tell us anything. Okay?" Todd offered. "But from your reaction.... I'm guess this freak Clockwork is the one that hurt you."
Another poked their head in. "Was wondering where you went Todd. And yes she's still sleeping," offered the red head with an eyepatch.

Erin nodded and looked around as Alphys continued speaking on her phone. The voice on the other end was soft and clear, Frisk obviously seemed to be having fun. "Yeaaaah, that might be a good idea. We should probably get reunited as soon as we can so we can swap information." Frisk had some pretty sound reason. "Anyway, I'm gonna get back to it on my end, see ya soon Doc~." Alphys found it hard not to imagine Frisk waving goodbye to her cutely on the other end of the phone. ---------- Once Alphys hung up and turned to the new arrival, there was a awkward quiet in the air as the woman before her took her in. ".... You're name is Alphys isn't it?" ? How did this woman know her name? "Yeah, Undyne told me a bit about you~." .... WAIT... SHE KNEW UNDYNE-  "But for the life of me..."Before Alphys could properly take in what was going on, Erin had picked the lizard up into a hug. "SHE NEVER TOLD ME JUST HOW ADORABLE YOU ARE~~! You're so cute I could just EAT YOU UP, I SWEAR TO GOD hahahaha~!" Well it was clear SOMEONE was a fan of awkward lizard nerd. XD |

"No no no no no no..." Clearly Evelyn was already too far gone to process Todd's consolation. She just lay there, tense yet shuddering, everything hurting inside. "God, no... He's after Evan... He's after me... He's after all of us...!"

"Y-Yes, absolutely," Alphys agreed, smiling at Frisk's sweet tone. "Well... you have fun and take good care of yourself. See you soon, Frisk! Buh-bye!"
Once she had hung up and placed her phone back in her coat pocket, Alphys looked up at Erin again, bashful but doing her best to make a good first impression. She mulled over how she should introduce herself, but the woman beat her to the punch. And... somehow already knew her name! "...Oh, um... Yes. M-My name is Alphys, yes."
She would've asked how this woman knew this, but Erin's next statement answered that question... and opened up a whole new one. She had met Undyne?! When?! How?!
"W-? YIPE!" She didn't even get a chance to ask any of this before she found herself lifted off her feet and pulled into an embrace. Alphys's whole body went rigid and turned a deep red as this stranger hugged and gushed over her. It took a while for her to even work up the nerve to let out a squeak. "Um... Th-Th-Thank you...! I, um... I like your... outfit..."

The girl watched Evelyn and Todd as she listened.

Once Erin was done, she put the lizard nerd down, blushing bashfully herself. "S-sorry. I couldn't help myself~. Hehehe... Anyways, my name! My name is Erin." She took note of Alphys' earlier commentary. "And what, this little thing-?" She motioned to her Gatz cosplay, which looked quite anime. Remembering how Undyne was, she wondered if that kind of thing appealed to Alphys. "Yeah' it's a nice little set-piece. Sleeveless, barefeet. Pretty empowering stuff~. I call it my 'Gatz cosplay'. Gatz is like this robot human thing from another franchise I really like."
It was at that point becoming quite clear that Erin was embracing her nerdier side. She understood Alphys' expression and even recognized it in herself once upon a time. Perhaps talking a little nerdier herself might help the scientist relax a bit. "Really cool right~?"

The rogue's sharp cringe from the surge of pain in her stomach was a pretty clear indicator that someone should probably calm Evelyn down.

With a timid laugh, Alphys straightened out her coat and smiled at Erin. "Ah...! It's, um... It's very nice to meet you, Erin!"
She studied Erin's outfit with a twinkle in her eyes. "Y-Yes, it's quite lovely! It sounds like a very fascinating story! I'll... have to check it out when the opportunity arises!"

"Miss... you might want to calm down. You're going to strain yourself," Ruby offered gently as a crash was heard in the next room.
Todd sighed. "He used Beth's Sacrifice, Shatterpoint, and one of Vitt's motifs..." he offered as voices seemed to raise. "I hope to high heck that Yang doesn't wake Beth or it will end badly for all involved..."
