It pretty much went without saying that Alphys had been in a state of panic for days on end. Not long ago, she and Undyne had been at the beach, having the time of their lives... when out of nowhere, a portal appeared and sucked Undyne away! Though Alphys had managed to avoid it, she had of course attempted to go after her, only for the portal to immediately close before she could reach it. Following this horrific event, she tried to share the news with her friends... only to find that they had all disappeared too! Sans, Papyrus, Asgore, Toriel, Frisk... all gone without a trace!
Ever since then, Alphys had been working in her lab day in and day out to find her friends.
Sure enough, she managed to discover the rifts in space-time that had been opening up throughout their world, and once she had, she got to work on a means of controlling them. It was only a matter of time before Alphys was able to create a stable portal to this new world that her friends had been sent to. Before she dove head-first into uncertainty, though, she set the portal to act as a sort of window, using the signals from her friends' phones to locate each one of them.
First she found Undyne, and thank goodness she was alright! And she was with Papyrus and Sans! It was such a relief to know that they had found each other and were sticking together.
Next, Alphys located Frisk. It seemed that they had made some new friends in the form of two odd yet strikingly lovely ladies, both of whom looked like something torn out of her mangas. They seemed to be doing alright, of course; that child could befriend anyone.
Then she tried to find Asgore...
"OH NO!"
He was hurt! And in the hospital! Oh dear, what could have happened to him?!
Immediately, Alphys's concern for Asgore prompted her to fully open the portal, completing the bridge between her lab and the hospital room. Upon scurrying through, letting the rift close behind her, Alphys nervously examined her surroundings before approaching the bed that held the great monster king.
"A-Asgore! Are you alright?! What happened?!"
----------
Several doors down, a young woman sat in silence, blissfully unaware of the events going on outside her room.
Evelyn's stay had been uneventful, to say the least. If anything, she was certainly grateful for the company. Erin had told her so much about the island and the people she had met, and Todd checked in now and then for updates. Everything seemed so exciting out there, and she was just so anxious to see it for herself. Of course, there was no sense in rushing her recovery. The hole in her stomach still had a lot of healing to do.
So for now, Evelyn accepted her fate. She had been spending the day alone, as Erin had left that morning for some sort of group mission. Whatever it was, it seemed important, and even if that hadn't been the case, she would've been more than willing to let her friend go off on her own for a while. While Erin and Todd were out dealing with that business, Evelyn was resting, as usual, with a feeding tube up her nose and her eyes trained on the pages of one of her Calvin and Hobbes books.
Something had to happen eventually.
Maybe it was time she told them...

"Mmh...?" Asgore groaned softly as he felt something odd in the room. The king had been admitted to the hospital after Frisk had helped him get to the town; fortunately, with the fog abated, the hospital was working quite effectively at helping those injured by the situation.
One thing that Alphys would notice as she entered... was the fact that Asgore had no shirt on. His armor and cloak, as well as the undershirt below it, had gotten soaked in blood from his injuries, so they were removed to be cleaned (in the case of his armor) and replaced (for the shirt). The bed's sheets covered his lower half, at the least, and there were some bandages covering parts of his upper body.
...And then Asgore noticed his company. "GAH!" His eyes widened and he started, hurriedly covering more of himself up. "A-Alphys?! What are... what are you doing here?" His cheeks flushed crimson. He certainly wasn't expecting company, with Frisk currently being out and about in the city... at least, that's what the king assumed. Frisk hadn't been there when he'd awoken, after all.

"EEP-!" Alphys retreated inward slightly, sweating profusely, quickly getting hot under the collar. "I-I-I'm so sorry, Asgore! I-I didn't mean to startle you! I was so worried when everyone disappeared and I saw that you were hurt and...! Oh dear oh dear oh dear..."
She had to turn away to hide her humiliation, jittering from her rattled nerves. It was bad enough that she had simply barged in on Asgore, practically giving him a heart attack when he was lying in a hospital bed... but he just had to be half-naked when she did! The image of his burly, bandaged, fluffy white body had been engrained in her memory, and she knew she wasn't going to live it down anytime soon.
"S-Sorry..."

Asgore hid his face slightly, waving his hand. "D-Don't worry about it, Alphys; i-it's quite good t-to see a familiar face again..."
But goodness, he wasn't going to be able to forget about that. How embarrassing. "H-How did you get here...?" Now that he was certain the sheets were keeping him covered, he lowered his hand, looking at the scientist.

Alphys didn't dare turn back around. She was afraid of how she might react if she saw Asgore again like this, no matter how much he tried to cover himself. "Well, I, uh... I managed to harness those space-time rifts that sent you and the others here... and produce a stable portal! A-And when I saw you here, I-I knew I had to come... make sure you were okay..."
Taking a risk, she turned up the collar of her lab coat and peaked over her shoulder, masking everything beneath Asgore's sweet, kind face from her vision. "Asgore... what happened here??"

"Ah... quite a bit happened..."
The king's expression turned rather sullen. "It started a little while ago... Frisk, Tori, and myself were going to visit Sans and Papyrus... the barbecue and everything that they had planned. Well... they weren't there. They'd left a note of sorts, and when Frisk went looking for those two, they arrived here; I followed after. We... well. We were attacked shortly after arriving."
She didn't need to know those details. Not yet anyway. "We made our attacker flee, but... well. That's how I arrived here... Frisk is nearby, in the city."

"Oh... goodness..." Though she kept up the effort of resisting temptation, Alphys's eyes reflected nothing but sympathy for her dear king. "That's terrible... I'm so sorry you had to go through that... I-If only I had discovered these rifts earlier, maybe I could have stopped this from happening..."
She stopped herself in that train of thought. She couldn't beat herself up over things beyond her control. No one would have blamed her.
"Still... it's good to know you and Frisk have endured. From what I've seen, they've settled into this new world quite well!"

Asgore nodded. "I see... I'm glad to hear that. Frisk insisted that I rest here, hmhm... so kind of them. I... admittedly, don't fully remember everything that happened, so you might need to ask them for details. Thank you very much for your concern, Alphys. I appreciate it greatly." The king gave her a warm smile at that, laying back down and sighing. "...This hospital is quite a bit more advanced than anything I'd seen... even on the surface."

As the two monsters continued their meeting, neither of them were aware of one of the new arrivals at the hospital. A young woman with black hair, blue eyes, and now wearing futuristic looking robes and barefoot. Such was the case with Erin, dressed up in her Gatz alt costume as she made her way up to door just down the hall, leading to the room currently containing a good friend of hers.
.....
She pushed open the door briskly with one hand. With the other, she was holding onto a small collection of new books. She had considered bringing Chocolates but given poor Eevee's condition it seemed a rather useless gift at the moment. So she had to get about the next best thing in this situation. "Heya Eevee." Erin smiled as she spoke. She walked in quietly, it certainly looked like she was awake. "I'm back. How are you feeling~?"

Alphys was unable to suppress an awkward giggle. "Eheh... Not a problem. P-Perhaps I should inform Frisk of my arrival. Oh, and Undyne, Papyrus and Sans, of course! A-Are they aware of your condition?"
----------
Evelyn looked up at Erin's entrance, smiling as if she hadn't a care in the world. "Hey Erin! Well, my sinuses feel like they're on fire, but otherwise, I'm doing alright." She set her book aside and sunk comfortably into her bed. "How was the trip?"

Asgore shook his head. "Neither of us have encountered them yet. We were hoping we'd find them before this happened... if you could, I would greatly appreciate that." He smiled again, sighing. "...It's rather odd to say, given the circumstances, but it's nice having everyone together again... in a sense, anyway."

Yeaaaaah.... Erin should've figured that the question of what happened during the trip was going to come up. It only made sense... But still, after everything that she heard... Would it have been right? They were the gods of this island. People were depending on them to do something... But to do what? What could they possibly do for this session now? Erin let out a sigh as she decided to be honest... And yet be vague. "Well... Firstly, it was really informative. Then it was really weird... THEN IT GOT EVEN WEIRDER. Then it got life-threatening... Then it got just plain sad...."
Erin looked a bit annoyed, even now she could see Eevee's confused expression. "SO YEAH, IT'S LIKE WE NEVER LEFT THAT FUCKING GAME TO BEGIN WITH... I WAS ALMOST ENJOYING THE PEACE AND QUIET..." Or what basically counted as such. After all, normal life was just as good.

"O-Oh, yes. Of course." Alphys smiled nervously and nodded. "I-It would be great to get everyone back together! I-I could find them! Absolutely...!"
Obviously, though she was anxious to be reunited with friends, venturing out into unfamiliar territory alone was frightening to the socially awkward scientist.
----------
Evelyn was easily taken aback by Erin's odd response, her smile turning into a blank stare. "Whoa, whoa, hold on a second... Informative, weird, life-threatening and sad how? What happened out there??"

"I'm sure you won't have to wait long to see Frisk again. I doubt they'll be out and about for too long." Asgore chuckled. "I don't have a clue where the others are, though..." He yawned softly. "...Heh, sorry. I might close my eyes for a little bit; rest a while. That's okay, isn't it?"

Todd poked his head out of the room next to Evelyn. Ruby and Yang were both asleep in chairs near a rather peaceful looking woman. He gave a soft smile as he walked over.
"Hey Hufflepuff. Hi Erin," he offered with a soft smile.
