............... Papyrus and Undyne looked NOTABLY uncomfortable as Asgore explained what had occurred. ".......... Huh..." ......... She cleared her throat. "... YOU KNOW IT'S.... KINDA HILARIOUS ACTUALLY!?! Me and Papyrus ran into that demonic brat too!" FRISK DOUBLE-TAKED. "WHAT?!?!?! D-Did he hurt you-  ? Are you okay-?? WHA-?" "Whooooa, calm down Frisk. He couldn't even touch us..." ..... She blushed a bit. "Okay yeah, he could... He did some kind of weird trick to me and Papyrus that made us completely incapable of actually attacking him with our normal attacks. Like he canceled out my spear magic and Papyrus' bones. We had this friend with us during that battle and he probably would've killed her if this other guy hadn't shown up out of nowhere, tanked that 'attack button' destroyer attack like a steel wall and pretty much pwned him left, right, front and back." She sighed a bit. "We couldn't kill the little brat though, he ran away into this haunted mansion in the area and shut himself in with a magic barrier..." ........... Frisk considered this a moment, head lowered. "So.... He's still around... .... Then... He might very well come back." .... "Yeah.... It... REALLY sucks... BUT.!" That caught attention from everyone. "On the plus side! One of our new friends kinda theorized that we survived that bullshit cause we've been getting stronger since we arrived on this island!" She flexes her arm in an attempt to prove her point before motioning behind her. "To help us keep track, our new friend there, her name's Prishe by the way, has been working out with us and sparring with us now and then~. We've just been lasting longer and longer against her." .... That... Actually said something to Frisk. Prishe was definitely older then them, and when they first met the other monsters, it was noted that it would not have taken much effort to especially harm many of them. AND THEY WERE ONLY 10. They could scarcely imagine what an army of adults could've done in that old tale of when monsters and humans first went to war. "Their telling the truth actually." Prishe rung in, grinning somewhat. "When I first sparred with Undyne, I was a bit surprised it only took me three hits to put her down." YEAH THAT MADE SENSE....... "But now? She lasts anywhere up to 18 to 20 hits from me at full power. And I'm a pretty strong and healthy gal so yeah~." .... DANG. ------------------------------------ The knock on the door had caught Erin's attention as she considered this... Ugh, now what? "Who is it?" |

"Ah geez..." Elsa muttered as Asgore explained how he wound up in this predicament. "That's some screwed-up banana nuts, lemme tell ya... Sorry..."
"Oh..." Alphys sunk with fear at the mention of Chara and the trouble he had caused Asgore and Undyne. Thank goodness they had survived his wrath. She had heard quite a few horror stories about that child, and the knowledge that he was still somewhere on the island gave her even less reason to want to go outside.
However, she perked back up and fully entered the room to stand next to Undyne, listening with keen interest as she explained the theory behind their newfound strength. "Th-That... actually makes a lot of sense! This island's energy has to be different than the plane of magic in our world." She smiled, suddenly feeling excited. "I-I could test that! Figure out what the difference is and why it has such a positive effect on our bodies! Perhaps then we could find more ways to use this phenomena to our advantage! I-If I could set up a decent lab, anyway..."
Of course, there was another reason she wanted to set up a lab... one that she was actually quite anxious to show her friends. She placed a hand over her lab coat's inner pocket.

Evelyn grimaced slightly, not exactly anticipating whatever further drama was to come. When she looked up and saw Todd and Ray enter the room, she lightened up only slightly, particularly surprised by the latter's arrival.
Ray was here too? That was... great? Yeah, it was great! Good to know she was alright! Now that there was another member of their team here, they could... maybe...
Oh, who was she kidding? The last thing she wanted was more friends to get in Clockwork's way. Evelyn sharply turned away and continued to weep, ashamed that Ray had to see her in this state, mortified by the trouble she was causing everyone...

Papyrus was slack jawed during the explanation... then happily laughing when Undyne chimed in. "NYEH HEH HEH HEH! BUT OF COURSE WE WERE GETTING STRONGER! WE'D BEEN PUTTING A LOT OF EFFORT INTO OUR ABILITIES TO FURTHER BUFF OURSELVES UP! YOU CAN JUST SEE THE NEW MUSCLE MASS I'VE DEVELOPED!" Acting like he was made of flesh and not just bone, Papyrus flexed away in a goofy manner, laughing all the while. That about when Alphys mentioned the need for a new lab...
"HMM... ISN'T THERE A TRAVEL PAMPHLET DETAILING PLACES ON THE ISLAND???" Papyrus asked. "IF ONE EXISTED AND WE FOUND IT, WE COULD FIND A GOOD PLACE TO MAKE YOUR SUBSTITUTE LAB, ALPHYS! I MEAN, POSSIBLY. THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS EVEN THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS UNSURE OF."

"Uh... Heya boss, heya Eevee," Ray offered, gently waving hello. She soon gasped, rushing to Eevee's side. "Who hurt you?! I'LL SICK A CERBERUS ON'EM," she snorted. It was fairly clear that Ray quite certainly had the ability to legitimately summon a cerberus. Well, or at least a giant three headed dog monster. "Which one of those nasty circus freaks hospitalized you?!"

Asgore put a paw to his chin. "I'd dare to guess that that was part of the reason I was able to fight against Chara for so long..."
Bayonetta nodded. "That seems plausible. So then, if I may ask. What do you lot intend to do here?" She stood up, letting the newcomers see her at her full height. "If that child is still around, then that could lead to problems in the future."

Upon hearing Alphys further elaborating on her discovery and the theories that had been introduced by their new friends, it just made Undyne that much more proud of her scaley girlfriend and just how much more confident she was getting in her knowledge and her capabilities. The very wide grin was apparent as Undyne picked up Alphys in excitement. "Yas~! This is mah nerd right here~! She's freaking brilliant! That's EXACTLY what we should do~!!!" She was practically holding Alphys over her head as she proudly said this with all due enthusiasm.
Prishe meanwhile grinned just as widely, enjoying in Undyne's enthusiasm as she all but celebrated the brains of her apparent partner. It almost made her a little jealous seeing it. Still, the mentions of a lab did catch her intrigue...
She had seen any number of truly strange things on this island, some of them mindbending and completely unintelligible to the human mind to spread by word of mouth... However, the lab mention made Prishe harken back to when she traveled the island's wild northern face, facing near inhospitable cold in the mountains, crossing the frozen lake, coming across the igloo village... But perhaps the most note-worthy thing about that visit was one particular place she remembered coming across... the elvan walked up to the conversation, holding up a hand to ask permission to join into the conversation. "?" Undyne noticed it and gently lowered Alphys down, now just cuddling the lizard up to her chest like a doll. "Hm? What's up long ears?"
"... I think I might have just the place you could use... That is, if you want to chance the trek and whatever you might find inside of it." That definitely caught Undyne's attention. "There's this lab up north in the tundra. Abandoned, should be in ruins but it's still standing all on it's own merit. I haven't tried going in myself though, the place kinda creeped me out..."
Frisk looked at Prishe oddly, taking in the account. ".... An abandoned lab... Up north? I haven't heard anything about a place like that..."
"Few people have seen it... Even less go looking for it even after they hear about it."
..... Undyne looked like she was absorbing this like a sponge, the potential challenge appealing to her more and more.

Erin placed a hand on Ray's shoulder. "Ray.... Chill." Before Ray could further enforce her anger, or not who knows, Erin looked away, looking dead serious. "The person that did this to Eevee, is definitely not from here... But he's VERY dangerous all the same..."

"AH-!" Alphys tensed up and blushed profusely as Undyne picked her up and proceeded to shower her with praise. It was certainly appreciated, and Alphys was undeniably excited to get to work testing these theories, but having all of this attention was still very awkward to the shy lizard.
Once Undyne had lowered her into a simple hug, Alphys curiously stared up at Prishe, intrigued by her report. "An... abandoned laboratory, you say... Hmm... Sounds like a good lead. Granted... if it's been abandoned for a long time, i-it's questionable what sort of state of disrepair it's in. B-But if there's a possibility that it can be touched up and restored to full power, it might be worth checking out!"
"Now THERE's an idea!" Elsa cheered. "A creepy old lab is bound to have some secrets. I'm down to check it out and help clear the place out!"
Alphys chuckled a little, though her forced smile seemed to imply that she was in pain. Not from Undyne's grip; she was well and truly used to her strength by now. It was just that her new little treasure was being squeezed between them and pressing uncomfortably against her chest.

Evelyn didn't speak. She just sniffled and stared down at her stomach. Now that she had gotten it out, she didn't want to tell the story again. Seeing her friends this concerned about her... it only made her feel worse.

Papyrus seemed well into the possibility of Alphys getting a new lab. Though he wasn't as sure if he should be interested in whatever dangerous things it held... Still though, it was good to hear that Alphys could at least be somewhat comfortable with a new lab location. "SO! WHEN DO WE SET OFF TO SPRUCE THIS LAB UP? I'D BE HAPPY TO HELP THINGS ALONG!" he cheered.

Asgore rubbed the back of his head. "I would love to give you a hand with this, but... well, I don't think I'm going to be released from the hospital any time soon..."
"Nothing to it," Bayonetta said in response. "I can certainly lend a hand. I'm not much for manual labor, but it wouldn't be right for me to not aid a friend of Frisk's."

Frisk couldn't help but smile at Bayonetta's offer to help them out. "We'd really appreciate any help you can give us~." Taking a moment to consider what Prishe had told them, it seemed likely the place could be dangerous. If they wanted to go explore this lab they would have to have everyone present... After all, there was no telling what they would find in an abandoned secret lab in such a strange new place-...
"YEAH~!!" Undyne started supporting Alphys in one arm as she pumped a fist in the air. "I'm LOVIN' THIS!! Let's go look around! Let's go fight and explore~!! It'll be just like that movie about the kickass girl that raids ruins!! Now let's-"
Undyne was quick to stop when she finally noticed Alphys' discomfort... Mostly because the discomfort was now pressing to her arm everybit as much as it was pressing against Alphys' chest. "?" She proceeded to put Alphys down and look at the shy lizard nerd oddly. "Whatcha got in your pocket Alphys-? You get a new cell phone-?"
Prishe raised an eyebrow curiously at this...

...... Erin walked over to Eevee and pat her head gently.
"Let's uh... Take this to waiting room-"
Grrrrrrrrrr.... A second after she said this however, her stomach started growling, prompting her to her own hunger. Blushing slightly, Erin decided to correct. "Okay, let's take this to the cafeteria. I'll tell you the whole story she told me there..." With a snap of her fingers, she gave the room a slight void coating. After all, the last thing this day needed was Clockwork finding out Eevee was here and attacking her in her bed...
With that done, she led the three out. "Come on~. Dinner's on me guys~."

Alphys nodded at everyone's optimism and willingness to help, really and truly feeling that there was a good chance that this would work out for the best. She blushed a little harder when Undyne set her down and asked about the contents of her lab coat.
"O-Oh..." As she reached into her inner pocket to grab the object in question, Alphys explained, "N-No, actually... W-While I was working on the portal to bring me here, I... met a strange boy who appeared out of a similar rift. Based on my description of him, he was apparently... a-a member of an alien race that Erin and her friends are familiar with. He... helped me with some menial labor around the lab, and before he left, he gave me... this..."
She then pulled it out and held it up for all to see. It was a small, semi-transparent, bright blue orb that behaved like glass yet radiated with magical energy. Inside said orb was another smaller round object, thick and black, balled up like an egg-sized mass of mercury.
"Ooooh..." Elsa leaned in, eyes gleaming with keen interest. "And what do we have here?"
"I-I'm... not entirely certain," Alphys admitted, smiling with fascination. "Originally the orb was encased in a dense shell of fused stone and wood, b-but I cut it free while I was... taking a short break from the portal. The orb itself seems to be a... simple barrier of abjuration magic. I should easily be able to negate it so I can study this... strange little blob."

Evelyn, silent as ever, sadly gazed up at her friends, giving them a subtle nod when Erin suggested the three of them go eat and discuss the matter in private. She had already said her peace. At this point, more than anything, she just wanted to put it all behind her... She knew too well that the more she dwelled on it, the more she would seriously consider the benefits of taking herself out of the equation.

Ray sighed, following Erin out of the room. She seemed a bit nervous, not sure exactly what to make of one of her team-mates being incapacitated in such a horrendous way... She felt like she should have been there, like she should have been the one to keep Eevee from being harmed in the first place.
She looked around the hall. "...Amazing that there's such a neat looking underground compound here, huh?" she asked. "I'm honestly happy this place exists at all. Heck, it has some very nice benches outside, that's for sure."

Asgore shook his head. "No. Abjuration... that's a barrier of sorts, isn't it? Why would there be a barrier within an encasing like that?"
Bayonetta looked closer at the orb. "Perhaps someone didn't want anyone getting at whatever's inside this thing. Though why they wouldn't want that, I couldn't say. That blob hardly looks threatening."
