Ryan blinked, approaching Alex with curious steps. He looked at the knife- certainly, it was a knife, but what made it so special? "A knife?" he asked, then looked around.
"Um... I've been sleeping inside a stone time capsule for an unknnown amount of time... Can somebody please tell me what makes this knife special?" Just out of curiousity, he started flipping through one of his books, humming to himself as he skimmed the pages.

"Lagola, calm down!" Kendall anxiously cried out, chasing after her and Alex.
As Alex approached Sirion, Lagola yelped and flailed about haphazardly, hardly even registering Orcana's remark (not that she would've cared) as she kicked her feet in a desperate attempt to touch the ground again and end this ridiculous piggyback ride. Thankfully, Kendall gently lifted her off the thief and set her back down, wrapping his arms around her again. "You didn't have to do that..."
With a light sniffle, Lagola murmured, "S-Sorry... I-It looked like she... I thought he was going to..."
"HEY!" Patrick would've jumped in and wrestled the knife out of Sirion's hand if Alex hadn't beaten him to the punch. Instead, he charged up an abjuration spell and scowled at the troll. "Keep your murderin' paws away from my lady! A'ight, bucko?!"
"Whoa..." Evan leaned over Alex to get a good look at the knife, eyes wide and glistening as he entered into what could only be described as a fangasm. "Is that a Crysknife?! Like from Dune?! How'd you get that?! Wait, were you keeping that in your inventory thing?! Is it fixed?! 'Cause if it's unfixed, it's gotta stay in proximity with the body's electrical field or else it will disintegrate! Just... like... that... knife handle I found after... fighting Clockwork..."
Ohhhhh, now he got it...

Hardly fazed by Sirion's threat, Ace folded her arms, stepped back to stand by Patrick's side and nodded firmly, as if to say "Yeah, don't mess."
Sirion growled and rolled his eyes, both at Alex's persistence and Evan's annoyance. Where these monkeys going to question every freaking little thing he did? "Got it off a dead b**** from another session! What's the big deal?!"
"Is death nothing but a minor nuisance to you?" Ace grumbled with exasperation.
"More often than not..." Sirion's narrow, furious expression flew right past Alex and landed on Evan. The pajama-wearing punk was right there... If he was quick enough, maybe he could snatch the knife back and...

Alex considered captaloguing the knife for further notice... But the mysterious energy about it made if plain that the last thing he wanted was to give the knife to a likely still VERY enraged Swift... He grumbled under his breath and took a moment to put the knife away into his belt... The frustrated expression on Sirion's face caught his attention next.
..................
Expression narrowing, the thief decided to keep his hand firmly on the knife. Suddenly... Pieces in his head started adding up.
......................
"....Sirion.... What are you doing here?"

"Whale whale whale, I can't believe I'm sayin this but..."
Orcana briefly looked like she was going to puke, her eye twitching and her face in a grimace.
"But I think I actually kinda sorta proud of you fo' growfin' a backbone."

Ryan finally found the page he wanted, looking at Alex. "Crystal knife? Clockwork had it?"
His head ticked for a few seconds...
"...Oh nutballs."

Lagola took a deep breath and leaned on Kendall, simply thankful that things hadn't escalated the way she thought they would. Still... Sirion was giving Evan that look... There were still plenty of ways for things to get even worse.
Kendall stared firmly at Sirion, his tone low and straightforward. "Sirion, don't even think about it."
Completely oblivious to the troll's murderous intent, Evan shrugged and offered, "Well... maybe I didn't exactly clarify that Clockwork was here, but then he vanished and I don't know exactly where or when to. And, well... you've been hunting him, huh, Siri?"

Sirion stared incredulously at Evan, his shock lasting only for a second or two before it was replaced by (SURPRISINGLY) outright fury. "HE WAS HERE AND YOU JUST LET HIM GO?!!"
All of a sudden, the troll was holding Evan off the ground by his throat. "HE'S THE WHOLE REASON I'M IN THIS DUMP! HIM AND THAT S***-BLOODED WASTE OF MY TIME!" He jabbed a finger in Lagola's direction. "ARE YOU REALLY SO INCOMPETENT THAT YOU MORONS KEEP GOING ON AND ON ABOUT STOPPING CLOCKWORK BUT YOU DON'T SEEM TO GIVE ENOUGH OF A F*** TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT HIM WHEN HE'S RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU?!"
He pulled Evan closer to his livid face. "I oughta kill you right now, you self-entitled f***! Give Clockwork one less way to overpower those of us with the capacity to give a s***!"
WHAM
Sirion immediately dropped Evan and fell to the ground upon receiving a sharp blow to the back of the head with Ace's Blackjack staff. Though he retained consciousness, he soon found himself weighed down by Ace's foot and a painful amount of gravity. "Mistakes will be made and moments will come to pass where we're not fighting him! Letting him get away does NOT mean we don't care! It just means we need a better plan! Or, y'know, ANY PLAN AT ALL!"

The Thief passed the knife to Kendall to let him hold onto it before he approached the downed Sirion, taking him in with a spiteful look. "Are you...... REALLY that stupid? REALLY? Are you REALLY that fucking dense that you can't figure it out on your own?" He shrugs in complete bewilderment, looking to the others to emphasize this. "AHAHAHAHAAHA~.... NOW I KNOW FOR SURE Clockwork is just fucking with you."
The intense expression Sirion gave him didn't affect the thief in the slightest. "It's true. We had absolutely NO idea who we were messing with. That much is very apparent. But that's only where the bad news begins. I had entered into my grimdark form and another one of us that I had to subdue in my Modus for a little while both went to town on that guy. We gave it our very best... And guess what? IT WASN'T ENOUGH. We could beat the shit out of this guy all we wanted but it didn't seem to phase him in the slightest. The most we could do was keep him from killing anyone by thinking on our feet and keeping him at a distance." He growls at Sirion. "THAT'S why I think Clockwork is setting you up to fail. Because THREE GOD-TIERS WORKING TOGETHER WEREN'T ENOUGH TO DEFEAT THIS JACKASS. And before you enter into some spiel that maybe you're just that powerful, maybe you're just that experienced-let... Let me just stop you right there."
"God-Tiers are God-Tiers regardless the species, regardless the blood color. Which is something you snooty highblooded candy corn horn jackasses can't seem to COMPREHEND, let alone think about."
He pulled out Dream Racket, ready to fight in case Sirion decided to explode.
"YOU... NEED.... HELP... YOU.... STUPID... FUCKING... MUTT. IF WE DON'T BAND TOGETHER AND PULL OUR RESOURCES, WE'RE NEVER GOING TO BEAT HIM... But by all means, if you want to keep playing the Lone Ranger, go right ahead. We're not gonna miss you when Clockwork eventually chops off your tail and shoves one of those crystalline knives so far up your ass that you start shitting silver seconds before your heart stops beating. I'm not going to lose any bit of sleep over that in the slightest. Another one just like you never gave me reason to." .... Orcana suddenly had the sneaking suspicion that that was aimed somewhat at her. "But I also wouldn't mind it if you actually TRIED TO BE NICE AND ACTUALLY TRIED TO TELL US WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.....
"Just don't EVER make the assumption that we're going to sit on our thumbs and let you kill one of our own. Cause, I can assure you buster. If you try, I'm going to make it my newest life mission to make every waking moment of that fight your own living hell... Get the picture?"

"Watch yo' tongue buoy, otherwise I might just rethink ma idea an' follow ma adult self's foosteps."
Orcana glared at Alex, her lone eye full of a cold rage. "It don't take no genius t' see that dis workclock buoy's a threat. But reely he ain't nothin'."
She jabbed a finger at herself. "Just lemme work ma magic on ma adult self. Surely she see ma (her??) way an' maybe she an' me'll just make splinters outta dat buoy."
Narcissistic though she may be, Orcana did have a very slight point.

A growl came from Ryan's direction, the red-head pulling free three pages from his book before tossing them into the air, the see-through magic pages dancing about before three very strong looking creatures spawned from them, landing on the ground with a resounding thud. The first was a crazy looking octopus with boxing gloves at the end of four tentacles, giving a death glare to any to stare upon it. The second one looked like a zombified dragon, smoke billowing from its nostrils as its skeletal head vacantly stared forward. The last, and certainly the most normal looking, was a samurai looking being with traces of more european armor on its body, almost looking like a crazy Shovel Knight Fan Character.
"Alright, let me get this straight," he huffed, his expression holding a very serious, angry glare to it. "This... clockwork guy, is beating up other versions of us across paradox space, and wants to take the powers of a hope player. But going further beyond that, Sirion here tried taking it upon himself to take that bastard down." Even angry, Ryan wasn't usually one to swear- this caught Alex off guard. "However... three god tiers already tried to take him on before, and as Alex said, a God Tier is a God Tier. That said, he's probably the greatest, but not the only threat we now face, thanks to Sirion breaking open some guy named Jack from his prison. With all that in mind... I got words for you two high bloods.
"Sirion... You're a self righteous idiot that tries too dang hard and makes everyone else suffer for it. That's not something you want to be. I walked that lonely road, and it is far from fun. So how about you take a DEEP FREAKING BREATH, EVALUATE THE FACT A GOD TIER'S WEAPON IS STARING YOU DOWN, and try to think for a moment about the possibility of being civil?" He looked to the octopus, giving it a nod. "One bad word and Clocktopus here punches you in the nose."
He then turned toward Orcana. "As for you... I have nothing but respect for you. you're proud of your abilities, yeah, but I think you can easily back it up. Also, one. Thanks for the advice earlier. Staying behind Blocks all day solves squat. And two... if you think being able to reason with your adult self will help us, then Don't let me stop you. You have a better handle on what's going on that old mutt butt over there."
Clocktopus gained a vein on its head, watching Sirion for any sudden swears. His words said, Ryan fell on his behind, giving an exasperated sigh. "Being serious... hurts my brain..." he squeaked.

"Yeah! And don't be threatening my best bro either!" Patrick shouted at Sirion, poised and ready to fire a spell at the slightest twitch. "If you think we're gonna get through this game without him, then you're a bigger nitwit than I am! And that's saying something!"
At least he's self-aware... Ray muttered.
"Sirion, please, you know they're right," Kendall sighed. "For one, Evan is vital to this game's success. Secondly, you alone are not strong enough to take on a threat of this magnitude. We're only trying to do what's best. Please, calm down and let us help you."
Lagola sniffled. "Everyone... just... please stop yelling. We're not solving anything like this."
Evan looked back and forth between his teammates. Ace being straightforward and to the point as always. Patrick standing up for his friend. Kendall offering his typical words of wisdom. Ryan telling it like it was. Even Lagola spoke her mind, albeit in a hushed tone.
Although... for a while, Evan's gaze rested on Alex. Sure, he had been on his soapbox almost the entire time since Sirion's arrival, but... after the rough patch the two of them had been through... was Alex really defending Evan? He... couldn't help but smile as the arguments went on around him, not really registering the words as much as the commitment behind them.
But then... Sirion threw Ace off. He summoned a massive club. He shouted something as he scowled at Alex, then Ryan, then Evan.
KABOOM
A black blur tackled Sirion out of nowhere, knocking the troll a few dozen yards away. Sirion then found himself in Clockwork's grip.
"̵͏Ţ̵̛͘O͡͏͘Ư̡͞͝C͡҉̵̧́H̵̡ ̷͟͜T̸̨͢H̴͘͢E̶̵͡͞ ̸̶̢̨̕R̵͟͞͠Ơ̧͘͟͞G͡͏̸Ư̶̴̧E҉҉'͠S̢̧̡̢ ̸̕͏D̶̨͝͝Ŗ͡͡E̡͜͞A̵M҉̡̕͝ ̸́͢͠S̢E̶̕͟͢͞Ĺ̵F̴͢ ̡͡͠͠A̡͜Ģ̴̕͟A̛͘Į̵̀͠͡N͘̕͜͞ ͘͜͠͡Á̢͜͞N̴̛͡͠D̴͟͝͠͡ ̸̨̡̛̛Į͢҉̢ ̴̨̛͡Ẃ̴̢͠I̸͠Ļ͘͜͝͝L̢̀̕͟͠ ̨͘͟P̸̧͘E̕͝R̵̡̛͘͟S͢҉̢̡O̴̵͡͞͡Ņ̶͟͝͞A̵̶̧͜͠L̸̢̀L̀͢Y͜͢ ̕͏D̶̛̕͞Ì̶̷҉̸S̡͏É҉͘M̨B̡͢͢͞O͢͡W̷̴̧͡E͏̶̛͜͏L͘ ̷̸̶̡͠Y̸̨̛͝Ǫ҉͠U҉͘ ̶͜͝͠A̡҉̵҉N̛͠D̷̨ ͢͠͡B̧A̧̕͘͟͢T̵̶҉H̨҉́E̡̨ ̶͢҉͢T̶̀͘͜͏H̷́͘E̵̴̶͢͡ ͏I̧̡̕͢N͘͘̕C̵͠Ì͜͟P̴҉I̧͢S̨͜P̢͜H͠҉E̵͘R̢͡E҉͟͏͞ ̴̢̡̛I̷̛N̵͟ ͏͏̛Y̡͘͝O͢҉̵́U҉̨̡̢R̢͏͘ ҉̷̵̷F̴̨̡͜O̧͘͜U̷̸L̵ ̸͡Į̸̕͜͠N͡D̡̛̛Į̵͢͞G͏͞O̸̢̧͡ ̧̢̢͟͟S̨̧W̨̕͝I҉L̵̀́̕҉Ĺ̴̸͘͜!̷̡!̶̢͢͟͝!̸̢"͏͏
Then, before anyone could react, Clockwork blipped in and out of time, reappearing next to Kendall with the Crysknife in his hand. Another second later, Clockwork was gone.
"Whoaaaaaaaa 'kay, that happened..." Evan gulped somewhat unconsciously.
Kendall blinked a few times, his mouth agape, utterly horrified by what he had just witnessed without warning.

Sirion could only pant in ragged growls as everyone around him chewed him out. Ace's statements, Patrick's threats, Alex's ultimatums... none of it mattered to him. These fools had no idea what they were doing. They didn't know Clockwork like he did. And surprisingly... what ticked him off the most wasn't their insistence that he needed help, the idea that Clockwork was setting him up to fail, or the fact that almost every loser in this vicinity was poised and ready to pound the crap out of him. It was Alex's assumption that Sirion's pride had to do with class.
............
No... that wasn't it.
He didn't care about blood classes. He didn't care about god tiers.
All he cared about was hunting Clockwork down.
Because... THIS HUNT WAS THE ONLY THING HE HAD LEFT IN HIS MEANINGLESS EXISTENCE!
"RRRRRRRRAAAAUUUUGGHH!!!!" With unparalleled strength, Sirion threw Ace off of him and into Patrick, quickly shooting to his feet. He unleashed the Betelgeuse Bludgeoner, waving it at Alex, Ryan, and that INFERNAL ROGUE THAT WAS GOING TO GET THEM ALL KILLED. "YOU DON'T GET IT, DO YOU?! HE'S PLAYING ALL OF US! THIS IS HIS GAME! HE'S THE WHOLE REASON THIS SESSION IS IN RUINS! IF YOU LET THIS SON OF A B**** GET HIS HOPE POWERS, YOU'LL BE GIVING CLOCKWORK WHAT HE W-AAACK!!!"
His club flew out of his hands as Sirion suddenly found himself being tackled and stared down by a stark raving Clockwork. Instinctively, he swung a fist at the demon, but Clockwork blipped away before a connection could be made. And just like that, he was gone again, taking the crystal knife with him.
"GAH! DAMMIT, HE WAS RIGHT THERE! YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN?! NOTHING CAN STOP HIM! NOT THAT ANY OF YOU ARE TRYING ANYWAY!"
Ace sighed, straightened up and adjusted her hat. "You know what? I think I've seen enough. You ready to go, Pat?"

.........................
....................................
..................................................
So much was happening...
Clockwork had actually DEFENDED Evan.
THE CLOCKWORK. DEFEND EVAN.
Suddenly a lot of things made sense... A lot of things started to add up...
Clockwork couldn't afford to kill Evan. Not unless he was-....
..... That was it.
"Sirion." Finality, not loud, just cold and direct. He turned to stare at Sirion. There was no pity in the thief's expression, no sense of moral obligation. He was DONE caring about this moron. Especially if all of this meant so little to him that he could just kill them all and it would mean so little.
"Think about what we said... About helping us. About letting us help you." He could tell the troll was about to scream refusal, to insist that he didn't want help, that he didn't need help. That getting help would be playing into Clockwork's game. But he was cut off.
"But until that message get through your thick skull. Maybe you should just leave... NOW."

So, that's what this workclock guy is... A fo' style but C fo' substance. But dress buoy...
For the first time in recorded history, Orcana was speechless for a moment. Not just from the appearance of "Workclock" defending this rogue, but more from...
Ryan's words were probably the first time another living creature had given her a compliment and seriously meant it. The normally bitchy troll's space was flushed a faint violet.
"Uh, yeah. You... You ain't hidin' no' mo'. It, uh, don't solve nothin'..."
