Chrys smiled. "Fair enough. The offer will remain on the table," she offered as they walked. "So where are you from Toby?"

"Oh... Well..." Toby grinned a little as he stared ahead. "I'm from my universe's iteration of Earth. I used to live in Pennsylvania, but then..." His smile fell. "...circumstances..." Then it slightly returned. "...led me to a little uncharted town called Summer Snow Valley. It's full of a bunch of misfits and a focal point for supernatural phenomena, so I fit right in. What about you?"

Chrys smiled softly. "Bay City. I wanna say it was on my Earth's West Coast. We had mountains on one side and the ocean on the other," she offered.

"Oh wow..." Toby mused. "That sounds nice. I... I've never been to the ocean. Heck, I just went to a beach for the first time a few days ago, not that I really did much there... Wasn't even an ocean..."

"You'd love Bay City. Didn't get too cold or too hot. And I worked at a small cafe called Starry Night," she offered.

"It sounds awesome..." Toby looked at Chrys with a small, sweet, almost charming smile. "Maybe... I could check it out someday..."

"And I come see Summer Snow?" She asks sounding hopeful. "I hope we're on the same Earth..."

Toby chuckled a little. "Yeah, I'm sure you'd like it. Deep in the mountains, lush forests, right on the Ohio River... It's beautiful. And I know my friends would be happy to meet you."

"Though i'll have to warn you about one of my friends... he isn't to trusting of humans and until I came here.... He was always with me," Chrys offered.

Toby shrugged. "Duly noted. I-I can manage if... um... yeah..."
His smile quickly turned awkward and somewhat goofy. He must've looked like a total dork, and he was trying so hard not to laugh at his own ridiculousness.

Chrys smiled. "He's a Shadae Dracorum. And acts like he's my older brother," she offered.

"Oh... Right, right." Toby nodded, remembering her explanation. "Yeah, I know that feeling. My roommates back in the Valley have practically become my older brother figures. Heh... I... really kinda miss hanging out with them."

"Patrick is one of your friends. Isn't he?" She asked remembering the earlier encounter.

"Yeah! Patrick, Van..." Toby snickered and shrugged. "Sure, he lived on the other side of the river, but even though we like to pretend there's this whole rivalry between the Ohio side and the West Virginia side, we're all pretty... close..."
Of course, 'close' was a relative term for Toby. Even after accepting the Summer Snow residents as his family, he was still the team's anti-socialite. Perhaps even the metaphorical redheaded stepchild, as decreed by himself. He was starting to acknowledge more and more lately that his self-inflicted isolation was less out of fear of being hurt and more out of fear of hurting others.

"He's a good man. Not too fond of the facet known as Ray... mostly due to zombies nearly killing my creator," Chrys weakly offered. She sighed as she received an odd look.
"You saw her as the Siren of Blood. Miss Beth is my story's writer."
