"Okay... so... my initial thought is that you guys legitimately expect me to get drunk."
"Evan, come on," Jen giggled as the gang reached their destination. "We just chose to come here because you love to sing! We know you better than to think you'd get wasted!"
"Although, the option is available," Brendon whispered in his ear, earning a voracious laugh from Evan.
In all honesty, though, this seemed like the perfect final stop for his birthday. Music, food, an opportunity to embrace being twenty-one... and of course, plenty of goofy moments to be had with his friends. Most of them, anyway. Andromeda, Aether, Carter and Toby had stayed behind at the apartment, apparently to clean up and set up one last gift. Plus, social situations like this naturally put Toby off; everyone suspected that he was going to return to Summer Snow Valley after the party, not that this bothered them any. They had already had a great day together. It was hard to imagine how it could possibly get better.
As he entered the karaoke bar with Jen, Darien, Patrick, Ace, Kendall, Lagola, Brendon, and a fully recovered Swift, Evan couldn't have been happier.
"So! What're you gonna start out with?" Darien had to ask.
"Gee... I dunno..." Evan snickered. "Guess I'll just try a beer first. Start out slow."

"Oh yeah! This is gonna be fuuuuun!"
To the surprise of virtually no one, after washing off, fixing her hair and reintegrating with the group, Swift had returned to normal in little to no time at all. She was absolutely ecstatic to be back by Evan's side, and more than ready for an evening of celebration. As well as probably some embarrassing videos.
Everyone had welcomed her back with open arms, a gesture well and truly appreciated. During the trek to the mall, Swift had gotten well acquainted with their new sprite companion. And why wouldn't she?! It was Brendon freaking Urie! Having him on their team was going to be a blast! As for the second addition to the group... Well, Lagola was absolutely adorable and seeing the relationship she and Kendall already had was heartwarming. Lagola seemed very interested in her too, but she was much more reserved about it. Whatever the case, Swift was just glad to be with friends again, both old and new. And now was the time to party.
"We gonna get an appetizer?" Swift giggled, bumping up against Evan as they took a seat at their table for nine. "'Cause lemme tell ya, I have a hankerin' for some spinach and artichoke dip."

"You know? That actually sounds a-pretty good," Evan replied, elbowing Swift back.
"Aw man," Patrick snickered, eyes on the stage as the current performer sang 'Uma Thurman.' "First opportunity I get, I am storming that stage and singin' 'bout how I can't feel my face."
"You do that, Patrick..." Darien mused as he looked over a menu.
"Heheh... You guys know I have to go up there at some point," Evan chuckled.
"Oh, we fully intended for you to," Jen teased.
Kendall laughed a little at the group's antics, then he leaned over and gave Lagola a gentle smile. "If you're feeling overwhelmed at all, please feel free to speak up. They'll understand if you want to just take a walk."
"R-Right... Thanks..." Lagola mumbled.

"Ooh, that's gonna be awesome!" Ace giggled, taking a moment to browse the roster of song options. "I wonder if I should try something out."
"I already have an idea for my performance," Swift stated, leaning back with an air of playful confidence. "You're gonna flip!"
"If you say so, but I'm holding you to that!" Ace joked, winking at Swift and earning a friendly raspberry in return.

Evan laughed along with the girls. "Can't wait!"
"Whatever it takes to ensure this place has no roof by the time we're done with it," Brendon decreed.
"Heheh... Yeah." Evan had to exchange smirks with Brendon. Considering they were in a karaoke bar, he could easily guess what Brendon's so-called gift was going to be.
Soon enough, the gang had received their drinks and their spinach dip and chips, which they quickly tore into. Evan casually sipped the very first beer of his life, finding that he actually liked it but knowing better than to gorge himself on it. He was in no hurry to discover what a hangover felt like. "Wow. Not bad!"
"Alright, guys! I'm goin' for it!" Patrick cheered, leaping out of his seat. "Call me the P-Bomb, 'cause I'm about to blow your minds!"
Evan just laughed at how corny that joke was. "Knock 'em dead, buddy!"

"Alright! Have fun up there, ya joker!" Ace cheered him on, lightly punching Patrick's arm and edging him towards the stage.
Swift just giggled before nomming on a chip. This was going to be an amusing night.

Jen chuckled as she watched Patrick make his way up front. Darien smirked and sipped his cherry coke. Evan scooted closer to Swift and eyes the stage with keen interest.
Once his request had been entered and the current singer had stepped away, Patrick stepped onto the stage, confident, full of energy, and ready to entertain...
He slowly approached the microphone, head low, lights soft.
"And I know she'll be the death of me, at least we'll both be numb
And she'll always get the best of me, the worst is yet to come
But at least we'll both be beautiful and stay forever young

Patrick then grabbed the microphone stand and started dancing like an absolute goof.

Evan bobbed to the beat. Brendon laughed at the ridiculous display.

Patrick then stopped prancing around the stage and crooned into the microphone. He raised a hand, a tiny flame on the tip of his thumb.

He gathered the flames into his palm and set them free. The fire harmlessly surrounded him, obeying his commands, moving in sync as he resumed his crazy dance.

Ace was trying not to laugh the entire way through. Patrick was just so adorable up there, and seeing him have the time of his life singing his heart out was so much fun to watch. She clapped wildly as the song drew to a close. "WHOO! BRAVO! THAT WAS AWESOME!"
"HAHA! Great job, Pat! Loved it!" Swift chimed when Patrick returned to the table.

"Sounds like a plan. If you'll excuse me..." Ace then stood up, tipped her hat and strutted towards the stage.

"Oh, I'm sure," Swift giggled, nudging Evan right back.
Upon taking the stage, Ace smiled at her group and winked at Patrick. She stomped her foot as the drums kicked in.
"Boom! boom! Boom! Clap!"
She bobbed her head as the music began proper, her voice shifting perfectly from soft and seductive to energetic and ecstatic.

This really was just as fun as it looked. She hoped she was getting a good reaction.

"WHOO, YEAH! THAT'S MY GIRL!" Patrick shouted, wildly applauding Ace.
"Yeah-ha!" Evan chuckled and clapped, leaning over to whisper in Swift's ear. "You don't have to scream your relation to me while I'm up there, alright?"
By the time Ace sat back down, the gang had already received their food and started into it. While dinner and conversation went on around her, Lagola quietly nibbled on her salad. She was certainly enjoying herself, but she was still too nervous to speak up. Maybe after this, she and Kendall could go walk around by themselves...

"Wasn't planning on it," Swift chuckled back. She had no qualms being silly with him, but that probably would've been a bit too humiliating.
"Heheh... Thanks! That was fun!" Ace beamed as she sat down, looking down at the food that the waitress had placed there in her absence. "Sweet!"
"So!" Swift ate a little, then smiled at the group as a whole. "I don't wanna distract from the good time we're having right now, but I'm just curious... Did we have any plans for the immediate future?"

"Uh..." Wow. Truth be told, even after the discussions he had last night, Evan had almost completely forgotten about the situation at hand.
"Well, we haven't really thought much about it," Jen replied. "For the time being, we're just taking things in stride, enjoying some time off."
"Yeah. Besides..." Evan picked up. "Alex stole my quest bed, so we're less likely to get in any trouble with Clockwork. Everyone's pretty worn out, and the others have friends and family to take care of too, so we're just gonna enjoy the holiday season and worry about the nitty-gritty later."
"Yeah, we're not allowed to worry about wars and all that junk at Christmastime!" Patrick laughed.
"I suppose there is some truth to that statement..." Darien snickered. "Opposing forces during World War I seemed to realize this."
"Exactly. Now's the time to relax and enjoy each other's company," Jen mused, taking a sip of iced tea.
Kendall nodded. "I can assure you all that it truly is."
