The Aflutterflies looked like they were damn near EVERYWHERE, as they continued surging across the city. One would be forgiven that the end of the world had once more come to DC. Though whether or not it would be the true end remained to be seen. Still, as the Aflutterflies continued on their chaotic rout of the city three beings, near the starting point of this chaos, were unaffected. One due to her animal like shape...
And the other two because of a peculiar barrier protecting them from harm.
"Soft voice-?" Alex took notice of Yang wincing at his still slightly higher volumed voice... Maybe the magic he kicked out of her gave her a headache-? .... Instantly alarm bells rang in his head. "How are you feeling Yang?" He asked, this time his voice much softer. "Are there any bumps or bruises? Anything broken? Anything that feels out of place?" The simple explanation sounded like 'Magical Hangover' which would make sense. But he just felt the need to ask, just to make sure she was fully okay.
After all, had he known what was happening here today, he wouldn't have vanished for that week like he did. Sure Kaimu was a nice guy teaching him a bit on how to use his powers, but he still had other responsibilities and roles here on the island.

Yang winced. "I feel like I was drunk under the table with Pixie Stixs and some weird sickly sweet mix drink," she offered softly as she put her sunglasses on. "It's like a mix of the crash after a sugar high and a really bad hangover. Nothing broken, but light hurts."
The blonde had her eyes closed behind the lenses of her glasses. "And add one very wicked headache...."

"I'm..." Oh jeeze that sounded just god-awful. "I'm sorry to hear that..." He started to think back a bit. What was the common thing to do for someone suffering from a hangover? His mom had told him SOMETHING about that didn't she? She was a doctor. Come on... Think think think... What was it-... He had a step-dad that liked getting drunk once...
Dammit... He had nothing. He'd need to look it up later.
He supposed all he could do at this point in time was try a few other things. Maybe he couldn't cure it, but he could try to soothe it. "Um... Here... Maybe this-?" He circled around Yang and placed his hands on her shoulders. A little vague thing he remembered was that his mother would ask for a shoulder massage when she had a headache. He wasn't sure how much good it would do here, but it was worth a shot.
So that's what he did, rubbing and squeezing into Yang's shoulders and muscles. "I'm... Uh... I'm sorry I was gone for all of this... And I'm sorry I went missing again..."

Yang relaxed slightly. "You had mentioned something about training last time we chatted, so I just guessed you were taking time to practice and train your abilities," she offered as he rubbed her shoulders. "I think I saw Ice Cream earlier today."
She hoped that Alex would remember who she was talking about. "Seems Beth took her in as well."

It actually took ALEX a few seconds to realize who Yang was talking about. There was a number of people she could've meant... However after a bit the realization dawned on him. "Huh-? Do you mean that girl with parasol? Pink and black hair-?"
If that was the case, which seemed unlikely, that just begged the question as to HOW.

Yang nodded. "Yes I mean Neo. She was working the storefront," Yang offered as an eye lazily opened. She sat up a bit more as she caught sight of a familiar Bullfrox. "You doing okay Cat?"

As stated before, Cat's long trek from the caverns to the city had left her pooped. She had been hopping after the aflutetrflies for miles, but by the time she reached her destination, she was simply waddling with a dizzying sway. As soon as she reached Alex and Yang, the fox-bull-frog creature collapsed, dropped the flyswatter in her mouth and panted, her energy all but completely drained. But we already went over this in the thread this one is branching off of.
Still, despite the redundancy, Cat looked up at the duo and offered a half-hearted wave, soon thereafter dropping her webbed paw with a heavy thump as she continued to breathe in exhausted croaks.
Her current form offered its advantages against the aflutterfly curse... but being the size of a fennec fox was absolute balls. Cat was going to strangle that fairy when she got back to normal.

...... Alex raised an eyebrow curiously at the little horned bullfrog... Thing, before turning to Yang. Sure he had never met Cat, but he had at least heard about her from Evan and Swift. So seeing Yang calling the strange little creature Cat was definitely curious. "... ... What happened exactly? I don't recall ever seeing anything like these Aflutterflies when I first came to this island... What happened Yang? When you were an Aflutterfly, you mentioned something about the caves underneath the island."
He noticed a particular knot in her shoulder and started rubbing at it a bit more vigorously. "What's the last thing you remember?"

"Rio, Mickey, Cat and I were following Sam because somehow he had turned into a dragon... also I loaned him my jacket and then he ran off with it... Cat getting turned into a Bullfrox after eating some strange cherry candy that had been left out. I had the idea to raid the person who had made the candies stash of ingredients. Then Rainflower showing themself after we may have raided their potion stash because of the rather annoyingly smart mouthed lion anthro- Sam- and to prevent Sam for changing into a dragon or something else again. One of Rainflower's pet one of those things bit Rio. He turned into an Aflutterfly. He soon kissed Mickey on the nose I think. I got defensive and threatened to freeze Mickey's wings off. Then the little butt hole kissed me...." Her eyes widened. "My weapons are back at the cave!!!"
A hand went for Cat and attempted to pick up the Bullfrox and pull her into her lap.

Cat continued to lay there, sprawled out on her stomach, tongue limply flopped on the ground as she caught her breath. When she noticed Alex's confused look, Cat smugly glared back at him as if silently asking "What're YOU lookin' at?"
She had little reaction as Yang wearily recounted the events that led them to this point. When she reached for her, Cat scrambled onto her feet, hopped back once and raised a paw. Her expression was low but polite, wordlessly expressing that she was alright and had no need for consolation.
Wait...
Cat's beady frog eyes widened when it finally dawned on her that Yang was human again. With this discovery, Cat hopped forward again, pointed first to Yang, then towards the Plaza, then mimicked fluttering wings with her paws, then finally threw her arms out and raised an eyebrow as if to ask "WHAT GIVES?"

Alex noted all of the weird movements Cat was making, taking a moment to consider what he'd heard. So... There was a mysterious magical being in the caves underneath the island.... That was slightly concerning if he had to be honest... But even worse, the Ember Celica was in her hands as well. He'd have to do something about that... Still looking to Cat, and noting the movements, Alex managed to piece together what the... Frog thing was doing.
"... Oh! You're asking why Yang is human now." Cat nodded in response. "Well... I had to work with my ability to use aura and portals, but I was able to shove out the magical energy creating her curse." He noted the expression from the frog as it bounced up and down before pointing at itself. "S-sorry... It's just, I'm very well aquainted with... Yang's aura." He blushed a bit. "So I had a slightly easier time there. It helps that the aflutterflies curse was a fairly simple Werewolf like enchantment... I'll be honest... I have NO idea what happened to you."
The bashful thief sighed a bit as he looked to Yang. "It sounds like you guys have been through a lot while I was preoccupied. Sorry I wasn't here for any of it... It'll be different this time though." He thinks a bit. "Still, we should think this through... There has to be some way to cure this a little more permanently... I could go and see the spell caster that caused all of this.... I'd have to be careful though..."

"Lots of chaos. And you're not leaving Cat or I behind," Yang noted with a chuckle at Cat's charades. "You know... I kinda miss the usual you, Cat. But the bullfrox form is kinda cute." She wearily patted Cat if the latter was within reach.

Cat flatly snort-chirped when Alex stated that he couldn't change her back. All in all, though, it wasn't really that big a deal to her. It just meant that she'd have to stick to her original plan, which she still had every intention to do. She wasn't about to let her tiresome journey be for nothing.
And hey, at least Yang was back. At least there was someone here to recap the story and deal with Rainflower. But first and foremost, maybe they could help her.
After mulling things over for a bit, Cat perked up when Alex suggested going to see Rainflower. She flinched when Yang petted her, frowning like a child embarrassed by her parents. Once she was released, Cat shook herself off, pointed to the city and yip-croaked, receiving only confused looks from the duo. It really sucked to not be able to talk...
For a moment, Cat raised her paws and made simple, meaningless gestures as she pondered how best to explain this. Would sign language work with these webbed things? Well, that didn't matter, since she didn't know sign language. Maybe she could try Morse code, but what were the odds that these guys knew every letter? She wasn't even certain that she knew them all. Well, maybe if she pretended to be an aflutterfly, then a person, then an elephant... OH SCREW IT.
With a clear amount of irritation, Cat snatched Goldenhand with her tongue, gripped it with her teeth, drove the handle into the ground and started dragging it. Once she had uprooted several patches of grass, she spat the flyswatter back out and firmly sat down next to her dirt carving, having messily spelled out "RIO."

The Thief looked at the scrawled name in the cement a moment, scratching his head a moment. "....." He remembered a lot about Cat and the others based on what Evan had told him... But he had to admit, so much was going on that he couldn't really remember much from those explanations. "... Rio-?" Cat nodded.... Alex meanwhile turned to Yang. "Who's Rio again-?" At some point, he just needed to sit down and meet some of these other people. Try and get their names straight.

Yang sighed. "Rio is their mage. And the green aflutterfly that saw me get turned back. The second yellow was Sam and the last was Mickey," she answered with a smile. "Sam is a bit of a power hungry idiot."
