"Heh..."
Percy walked down the plaza streets, a spring in his step. Was certainly more bustling than any city back home. Or at least the one he knew. All sorts of people, too. Not just human, but people covered in fur, some with grey skin and horns, hell, was that a robot? And they all acted like this wasn't anything out of the ordinary. So the kid with pointed ears, slanted pupils, and facial markings blended in just fine. He turned to Kelsey, grinning. "Ha... I've never seen a place like this before. Granted, I've never left the island before, but it only gets like this when there's a festival or something. Hmm, that reminds me, I wonder if I'll finish in time for the Spring Festival on Day 9 of the Rose Bull..."
Pausing a moment to nick a stray apple, he took a bite out of the fruit. "... I've only been here for a day and I've already come to a conclusion that my world kind of sucks. No use crying over spilled milk, I guess. ... ... ... Oh, right, forgot he's missing in action."

"Er-!" Kelsey reeled back momentarily to pull out a dollar and awkwardly hand it to the salesman whose stand Percy had just snagged an apple from. She then scrambled to catch back up with Percy, her deed apparently unnoticed as he continued to ramble on about his world versus the island. "Uh, well... I guess it's pretty easy to complain about the world you're born into. Sorry you have to deal with it, at least. I know that doesn't fix anything, but still."
Kelsey wrung her hands and bit her lip as she nervously looked around the Plaza. The low-key atmosphere and Percy's upbeat attitude had little effect on her. Something still had her on edge.
"I-I'm sorry if I seem distant. This is where that monster attacked last night. I'm just trying to remember where..."

"Ah, right. The monster. Didn't the blonde kid describe it as some kind of dragon lion thing? How big was it? Feed a family for a day big? Big enough to feed a village? Plays with buildings big?"
They were approaching the centre of the plaza, where that meteorite still stood. "Hey, Kelsey, is that a real meteor? Did it come from last night? Or has it always been there?" Percy's springy step began to slow, and he let out a whistle at some of the... "... Go-Go-Godzilla, oh no, there goes Tokyo." He let out a whistle at the destruction. "... Well then..."
Percy began slowly walking up to the space rock, hand out.

Kelsey let out a downtrodden sigh, not exactly thrilled to mull over last night's endeavors again. "I would maybe describe it as your standard large-scale beast. Roughly elephant-sized. Kind of like a cross between an occidental and oriental dragon. Um, if you don't know what those terms mean, it's basically..."
She trailed off when she looked up and suddenly realized where they were. The meteorite was still there, untouched since its arrival. The damages leftover looked like they hadn't been touched, but Kelsey barely paid them any mind. Her eyes were solely on the meteor, a sense of dread stirring in her stomach.
"Uh, Percy...?!" It was only when Percy started to walk closer to the space rock that Kelsey snapped back to reality, hastily grabbing him by the wrist. "Maybe we... shouldn't go near it. When it landed, a bunch of slime creatures spilled out. And then the... monster appeared in... roughly the same spot. I-I'm just worried what else could be lingering on it."

"Gah!"
Percy snapped back to full attention when Kelsey yanked his wrist, pulling the rest of his thin body with it. He twisted out of her grip, shaking his head (whapping himself with his hair in the process). "Slime? Like the stuff that's growing in my icebox? Or the nasty cheese product Jordan likes to consume out of cans?" Well, at least his attention was off the meteorite.
He exhaled, looking at the ruined surroundings. "I wonder..." Percy walked up to some of the wreckage, poking it. "I don't know what an elephant is, but whatever did this kind of damage had to be five-hundred kilograms... if not heavier..." He glanced over at Kelsey and blinked. "I guess in asinine measurements, that's about eleven hundred pounds. ... What, you didn't know I could do math?"

"Um... I can't make an apt comparison to either of those things."
Once she was certain Percy wasn't wandering towards the meteorite, Kelsey graciously let go of his arm and let him roam, soaking in the devastation with him. His calculations and subsequent quip earned a shrug and a smirk. "I'm not judging. Can't say I know you well enough to assume what you are and aren't good at."
Staring down the street, Kelsey reflexively cringed at the sight of fractured concrete, the remnants of a devastating impact the meteor was not directly responsible for. "I'm a little concerned that no one's out here to clean this place up yet. From what I understand, last night's breed of chaos is somewhat standard around here, even if the circumstances themselves vary. You'd think they'd have some sort of damage control in this city." She turned and shot Percy an awkward frown. "Last thing we need is a repeat of that sh*tshow."

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say bureaucracy sucks. It sucked back in my world, Imago say- used to say that his was sped up by brute force through the queen, and I don't see why it'd be any different here." Percy offered with a shrug. "Most things in my world end up being done by normal people. Vigilante justice, bounty hunters, stuff like that..."
While he made no attempts to get closer, Percy's eyes were fixed on the meteor. "Still. I feel oddly transfixed by it. Not that often you find a giant honking space rock, y'know..."
His ears suddenly turned down, and his body tensed up, looking around with wide eyes.

"Yeah..." Kelsey warily peeked at Percy out of the corner of her eye, ensuring that he wasn't trying to approach the incredulous space stone again. Then she took another look at it for herself. Having a meteor land in the middle of a city at the center of existence was not the most unbelievable concept. The things it wrought, however, warranted questioning. Perhaps an investigation.
"Hey... stay here a moment. I'm gonna..."
"Wuh-oh..."
Kelsey turned around to find Tri circling Percy, his hands on his knees as he gazed at the antsy young man in a cutesy, condescending manner. "What is it, boy? You smell something? What's going on, little buddy?"
"Dick..." Kelsey simply grumbled and waved her demon off before cautiously stepping closer to Percy. "What's wrong?"

"M-My head... it hurts... so... much..."
Percy's hand shook, pink light in his hand forming into the hilt of a sword, but failing to form, flickering in and out of existence. He fell to his knees, clutching his head in his hands, letting out a guttural sound. His gaze remained fixed on the meteor, and his voice was staggered. "I must... it's the only way... stop..."
I must touch the meteor.
No! You musn't!
I have to. It's the only way.
You don't! Please! Think this through!
I must... I must... I... I...
Percy let out a shriek, before fully collapsing to the ground, face-first. A grey aura emanated from his body like smoke, twisting upward and slowly turning blue...

"Oh, sh*t..."
"'Oh, sh*t' nothing. I think this calls for more of an 'Oh, f*ck' than a..."
"NOT HELPING, TRI!!!" Kelsey's wings burst from her back. An inky black aura surrounded her, extending from her outstretched arm and grabbing Percy like he was a doll. "I'M SORRY, BUT WE GOTTA GO!"
With Percy in tow, Kelsey took to the air at a sharp angle, hastily flying up and away from the accursed meteor. She reeled Percy closer, anxiously looking him over, placing a hand to his head. "Just keep it together, keep it together... Percy...?"
Tri rolled his eyes as he tailed behind the two. "Just set the kid on fire. Nothing of value will be lost."
"TRI?! SHUT THE ACTUAL F*CK UP!"
"There, see? Better. Really hammer in how boned we all are."

"B-Blargh..."
Percy flopped bonelessly in Kelsey's grip, head and limbs going limp and floppy. He gave a soft groan, eyes half open and slowly closing. His forehead was covered in a cold sweat, sticking his bangs to his face, but his skin burned. As they flew away from the meteor, his noises grew quieter before stopping completely. "I... Pain... head hurts... ah, please...!! ... As... My.... Ah... no..."
His chest heaved with every breath he took, as if the simple action was a great labour. He felt something stirring in his chest, in his blood, burning like fire. His eyes slowly opened, one eye slightly bloodshot, the other staring off into space. "K... Kelsey... I need... that... rock... please... gonna... gonna... gonnna... ra... ra-ragh....!! Gah!!"
Percy's limbs suddenly regained their ability to move, and he brought both hands to his face, gloves straining, pulling at his hair. The bloodshot appearance of one eye seemed to have increased, covering half of the eye and slowly growing...

Kelsey anxiously grabbed Percy's arm with her free hand as she continued to fly, feeling scared and helpless despite her efforts. "I'm sorry, Percy. This is for your own good."
"You don't know that." Tri caught up to Kelsey and offered her a nonchalant shrug. "Maybe whatever's in that meteor is exactly what he needs to feel less... body horrorish."
"Is it??" Kelsey's tone was heavy with desperation and reservation. "How are we supposed to know for sure?! Do you know?!"
"I'd be lying if I said I was one hundred percent savvy on this kid's damage. Hell, I'd be a flat-out bullsh*tter if I said I was eager to experiment either way."
"Tri, can you maybe trim the fat and BE LESS CLUELESS THAN I AM?! HOW DO I HELP HIM?!"
"Hey, the fact that you wanna help him at all is a bad sign. Heads up."
"Heads up?? For wha-UHNFF!!!"
A massive gale struck Kelsey like a ten-ton punch. Percy flew out of her arms. Both fell spiraling out of the sky, a high-pitched scream from Kelsey piercing through the stupefied silence.
Tri stayed where he was, hovering in place, staring down at the duo with his arms folded and his eyes weighed down with frustration. "Now this is an 'Oh, sh*t' moment."

"Fuuu.... uuuu... UUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKK!!!!"
Well, at least he could swear, he noted, as he fell from Kelsey's grip, on a path towards the hard surface. He was spiraling, unable to control his trajectory. "I... I will not... die here... promised you... ah!!!" Percy felt a searing pain in his back, bringing a hand to his mop of hair, giving it a hard yank.
There was a tearing sound as a pair of bony structures tore through the back of his coat, flickering purple with white specks, indistinct shapes coming from them. Percy let out a yelp of pain, even as his descent slowed down, landing with a soft noise instead of a crash.
"Get... get away from me...!!"

"AAH-! C'MON-! FRICKIN-!" Kelsey spun about head over heels as she fell back down to earth, flailing wildly in her attempts to even herself. She did manage to adjusted and steady her position just in time to glide to safety, stumbling a few steps once she landed on her feet, her body shaking and her hair a mess. To say that the stress of the situation and the sucker shot out of nowhere had left her discombobulated would've been an understatement.
Her eyes shot up soon after Percy touched down several yards away from her. Within a nanosecond, she was back on the initiative. "PERCY...!"
Kelsey slammed her hands down on the pavement. Inky shadows stretched out from her aura, snaked across the ground, and finally shot up and surrounded Percy in a dense black dome.
From his vantage point, Tri could only think to grit his teeth and slowly recoil. "This is gonna suck."

"G-Groawl!!!"
Glancing around, Percy noted a dome of black shadows enclosing him on the spot, even accounting for his changes. He glanced around, bloodshot eye now fully red sans a diamond-shaped pupil, standing on all fours. He let out an animalistic growl and swatted at the shadows with a clawed hand, fingers slowly fusing into two claws...
After his clawing failed to yield more than a brief break, Percy collapsed again, letting out a blood-curdling shriek as his body continued to grow in size, flickering purple with white specks, his features vanishing into the spacial expense. His hair curled up, locking in place. There was the distinct sound of clothing tearing from within the dome...
A conical tail formed. Teeth were filled his expanding maw, something burning in his throat. The shrieks gave way to growls, something clawing at the dome.
There was a thundering roar as a large grey creature burst out of the black dome, unfurling its feathery wings. Its clawed feet tore holes in the hard floor below, and it fired a burst of grey mist into the air, before glancing down at the little creature, pupils little more than slits against backdrops of blue and red.
