Mountain Run

"Whoooa!" Slash said before he fell face first into the snow on top of one of the mountains. Getting up and brushing the snow, he looked around him. This didn't look like the course he was on in Japan.

"Where the heck am I?" Slash asked as he picked up his snowboard.

"Oh, people call me daffy! They think that I am goony! Just because I'm happy means I'm no loony toony!"

The weird singing caught Slash's attention and he saw a peculiar sight. A creature that looked like a cross between a human and a green duck was dancing about the snow like an idiot, singing some nonsensical song. The duck wore a red scarf, white gloves, and orange sneakers and wore an expression that clearly shown he was not right in the head.

"When people call me nutsy, it sure gives me a pain! Please pass the ketchup, I think it's going to rain!!!"

After a few more crazy jumps that seemed like really pathetic attempts at dancing, the duck pulled out several black, spherical bombs and began juggling them while they were lit. The duck then continued his song.

"Oh you can't bounce a meatball, though try with all your might! Turn on the radio, I want to fly a kite!"

The bombs blew up on the duck, leaving him charred and blackened. Yet he seemed totally unphased as he shook off the soot, then tok a bow.

Is this guy for real? Slash thought. He just stood there and stared at the weird duck thing's performance. It was almost like watching a cartoon.

"What the..." He managed to get out of his mouth.

"So this is where you wandered off too."

Before the duck could do much more, a more intimidating sight appeared. It looked like a humanoid polar bear, and a rather burly looking one at that. He appeared to walk on all fours though this seemed to be because of his large size. He wore prown boots, black and red gloves and appeared to wear an orange sock hat on his head, with holes put into it to allow the ears to poke out.

Shaking his head, Bark turned to Slash, his stare not changing from it's intense look. "Forgive my partner Bean." He lifted a hand up to his head and twirled it around the side. "He's never really been... all there." With that explained, he held out a hand, "The name's Bark. Who are you?"

"Uh, Slash. Slash Kamei." He said, shaking his hand. The look Bark had reminded him of Max. The penguin from the snowboarding tournament had that same look as his gameface.

Slash, at the moment had a very confused expression on his face, though that was probably from watching Bean. "Uh, you have a clue what's goin' on here?" He asked.

Bean scratched his head and said, "I've been wondering the same thing... Why do people hate Mondays? I thought Friday the 13th was the bad luck day."

Bark shook his head at Slash's confused look, "He's always like that, just ignore him."

Looking around, the polar bear frowned a little deeper before turning back to Slash. "You happen to know where we are, Slash? One minute we're back at Station Square, the next, Bean was messing with a Star Post and we find ourselves here."

Bean's eyes lit up at the memory, and said, "OH YEAH!!! It was soooooo much fun!!! Hey, let's find another and do it again!!!"

As Bean was about to walk away, they all heared something a short distance away inside a cave.

"IT'S THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN!!!!!!! RUUUUN!!!!!!!!!"

"Sorry, I'm kinda lost myself," Slash replied. "I went from boarding down this mountain outside Osaka to ending up in this deserted place."

He then heard the sound from the cave. "Okay, almost deserted."

Bark highly doubted that it WAS the Abominable Snowman... But even if it was a bear like himself, he didn't want to stick around here to find out. "You mentioned your a snowboarder right?" He ran over to a nearby tree, and grabbed it...

"HUU-UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

CRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!!!!!!!!!!

"Well you might want to start boarding. I don't know what that sound was, but it didn't sound too happy with it's new visitors... Namely us." Slash was possibly still staring in disbelief at the fact that Bark had just yanked the tree out of the ground, roots and all. He was even more surprised when he saw the polar bear punching the tree in random places, snapping off a piece of the evergreen, and shaping it.

By the time he was done, he had managed to make a rather thick but still usable makeshift snowboard. "Well? What are you waiting for, Christmas?! GET GOING!!!"

"Whoa!" Slash said in awe. Bark was unbelievably strong. He managed to snap out of it. And set down his board, jumping on it and starting to move down the mountain.

Bean was frantic as he ran around wondering what to do. "Oh, big scary monster gonna eat me, big scary monster gonna eat me!!!!" He suddenly stopped to think, and said to himself, "What DO I taste like, anyway?"

The duck then heard another sound from the cave, and saw something sparkle in the darkness. "OOOOH, SHINY!!!!!!" With that said, he runs into the cave heedless of what he thought before.

Before Bark could stop Bean, the duck managed to slip into the dark cave. He then tripped over something.

"Ugh....."

Bean snapped out of his stupor and loked down and saw a young girl with brown hair wearing a simple shirt and blue jeans laying on the cold ground. She appeared to be very cold.

"BARK!!! Get in here! I think someone needs help!" The duck yelled as he sat by the girl.

"What are you talking about?! AND GET OUT OF THAT CAVE BEAN WE'VE GOTTA-!!!!!" Bark had ran inside to collect his partner... At least before he saw the young woman lying on the ground. She appeared to be out cold, and unless they did something, it didn't look like she'd wake up anytime soon.

Bark quickly picked the girl up, and hung her like a jacket over his shoulder. "Okay, we'll try to get her warmed up later. For now, let's get out of here." He grabbed Bean's hand as he said this and hightailed it out of the cave as fast as his humped over form could run. Jumping on top of his makeshift surfboard, he was soon down the mountain after Slash.

Later, they met up with Slash at the foot of the mountain where it was much warmer. They also found a cabin, and quickly got the young girl into the warm house.

After starting a fire-which Bean volunteered to do which nearly resulted in the whole place going up in smoke, prompting Bark to do it himself-they sat the girl next to the fire and wrapped her up in over a dozen blankets.

Bean found something on the floor, and said, "OOOooooh shiny!" He was holding up a pendant of a turtle dove that was very well-crafted that sparkled in the light.

"What do you think happened to her?" Slash asked. After Bean and Bark caught up to him, he saw that they had a girl with them. His first thought was that she looked like she was in pretty bad shape, so it was really good that this cabin was here.
