If the Wizard's words registered with Double D at all, he gave no outward sign. He continued to sob quietly, trembling slightly.
He didn't know what to think of all this. All he knew was that he needed someone to hold him, comfort him, tell him everything was going to be alright. That was all that ever kept him sane.

If there was one true statement that could be said for this scene, it would have to be that Otto had never thought he could hate any one being so thoroughly... But Wizard? He was DEFINATELY a first.
"B@$T@RD!!!!! MONSTER!!!!!! COWARD!!!!!!!! MALEVOLENT KNOW IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!" He roared as he dropped Eddy, and started looking around angrily. "YOU HEAR ME, WIZARD... I'M GONNA MAKE YOU PAY FOR THIS!!!!!" He emphasized this point by roaring again, sounding more ferocious and more furious as the seconds passed.
However, hearing Double Dee's sobs, the beast turned to Double Dee, the anger melting away. "D... Double Dee..." He looked over his new form, and suddenly felt spite build up in him... Someone out there must've hated him to give him this form...
He focused his energy... And winced as he felt something snap inside of him.
Almost immediately, his features returned to normal, his claws shrinking down and transforming into hands, his giant body shrinking until it was back to it's orginal height, his tail retreating into his body, and the scales turning into regular skin...
Otto walked over to Double Dee and bowed... Wincing all the while; turns out, using that WHATEVER it was took a lot out of him. In a few ways, it hurt just to move, but he wasn't about to let Double Dee know that. "I'm... I'm so sorry... I... I couldn't get him... I wish I could've though... He has no right to do this to you..."

"OW!" Eddy plopped to the ground, rubbing his head dizzily. "...what hit me?"
Shaking off the dizziness, he looked up at the current scene. It looked like all the villains had left the place. Thank god.
But Double D looked terribily broken. And after what happened, Eddy couldn't blame him. Knowing what his pal needed, he glanced at Felix.

Felix looked around and noticed Michael was gone. So was Kefka. Knowing those two, Michael probably dragged Kefka away and would soon face magical wrath of the gods later. Not caring much for that, Felix immediately ran over and wrapped his arms around the Angel of Light. "Edward... please... whatever happens, don't let that fiend break you like this," he said, holding him close.

Aqualad quickly glanced around as his chest was still still glowing and walked over to Double D he held out his hand. "I saw a little of the battle. I just got to this Place, Dimensional Isle or something like that anyway....I can belive people exist like that. What can I do you help you?"

"Ugh... what hit me?"
The voice came out of nowhere, but it was still familiar; the Wizard's minion Shapeless really had been left behind. "Jesus... I can't move! What the hell's going on?"

Suddenly a shadow appeared over Shapeless, looming over him in an intimidating fashion. From where he stood over him, Otto was scowling deeply, showing a severe amount of contempt for the figure.
However, a sadistic grin appeared on his face. "What do you think we should do about this one?" He called, turning to the others.

"Mmmm, I dunno..." Eddy drawled slowly, looking equally sadistic. "His boss DID mess with my head...."
The second he felt his love's presence, Double D squeezed deeply into the embrace. He was trying his best to take Felix's words to heart, but with everything that was happening, he wasn't quite sure what felt right anymore.
Slowly, after much time, the angel glanced up at Aqualad, hesitating to answer.
"I...I only want..." he gasped in between choking sobs. "...to go back h-home..."

The request was simple, so Felix obliged. He picked Edward up and then looked at the others. "Do what you want, but... we're going home. See you back there Eddy." With that, he walked out of the church and then took to the sky, holding Edd with him all the way.

"Um... okay, look; I know the Wizard does some screwed up stuff, but I don't agree with what he's doing!" Shapeless exclaimed. "After all, he wants to eliminate all free choice, right? His plan will never work because I know him; he's never going to be satisfied with the results! He'll keep on screwing with the universe untilaaaAAGGGGGGGGHHH!!"
The scream came as a shock to everyone within a mile of the church. The Shapeless' voice shook and raised in pitch as a section of air in the shape of his body shimmered and opened its mouth in a deafening wail. Memories were fading rapidly, like a chalk board being splashed with water. Personality and those annoying little habits exploded in Shapeless' mind.
Then he was quiet. A pale, wrinkled form began to fill the air where nothing had once been. He was an old man-- short, naked, and with a glazed look in his eyes. Drool pouring from his mouth like some brain-dead infant. This ancient creature stared blankly at the ceiling above him, as if something incredibly interesting were there to hold his attention.
Shapeless was gone. Now there was this pathetic thing.

"HOLY~!" Eddy leaped back at Shapeless' sheer destruction. He could only stare at what was left, jaw slacked in shock.
Man, even that jerk didn't deserve something like that.
All was quiet. Only Double D's sniffling, echoing across the church broke it, and the sound died when the two left.

"Well... that was a bit much, wasn't it?"
The sarcasm was a shock from the serious air that hung around the church. Perhaps even more shocking was who supplied the voice: Senor Diablo loomed over Eddy, looking down at wretched Shapeless with a mild curiosity.
"... What?" He asked. "Surprised to see the devil in a church? Well, I suppose I'd be surprised, too, if I were stupid." Nobody was laughing.
"Hmm. Too soon for jokes, I take it?" Senor Diablo sneered. "I swear, this is almost making me regret my team-up with the Wizard..."

Felix was replaced by another figure whose ears perked up at the mention of a teamup with the Wizard. "You're with the Wizard?" he asked. Vergil looked calm and collected as ever. He couldn't find any sources of power here, so he had no reason to be evil since that was all he wanted in the first place. However, the Wizard threatened all of that. "That would make you my enemy then," he said.

"Save your energy, Vergil; I hate violence. Violence is a mortal thing." Senor Diablo smiled wryly. "Besides, my alliance with the Wizard is only to bring down a common enemy. Gigyas is a bigger threat than the Wizard, so naturally I'd follow that ridiculous human philosophy... what is it? The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well, not my friend, but obviously someone I can stab after the work is done."

Aqualad followed Double D out the Church. Something told him to as he remembered those words that the wizard said. "Wait Felix! EDD!" He stopped when he suddenly new their names. "Wait How did I?"
