"A-are you sure?" Yuugi hated feeling this way. On one hand he really wanted to know so he could help. On the other he didn't want to invade K1's privacy. But he had looked like he just saw someone die.
Atem stared at K1. He was doing a remarkable job and concealing his emotions. Atem couldn't get a good fix, but he agreed with Yuugi in the general feel of his expression.
Yuugi was looking at his feet and by now.

"Yeah. I'm positive," K1 said. After a couple minutes, the two of them finally reached their rooms. K1 took out his hotel key and inserted it into the door. "Well, good night," he said, and walked in without looking at Yuugi. Though Yuugi couldn't see it, there was a look of absolute sadness on K1's face. He sighed, and closed his door before locking it behind him.

"Do you think he'll be okay, other self?"
Atem shook his head, "It reminds me of when Bakura tried to chase us away before that game. He's hiding something extremely painful and he thinks we'll get roped into it if we pry."
"We can't leave it like this, can we? I mean, what would have happened to all those people if we'd taken Bakura's advice?"
The pharoah looked around. No one was in the hall this time of night, "Whatever's wrong seems to be pretty immenent...."
"Then we can camp out here. Our room is right there," Yuugi pointed to the door directly across from K1's, "So if anyone shows up to bother us, we can head inside until they leave. I'm gonna pull this thing up in case he tries to send us any messages."
Yuugi walked over to his door and booted up the COMP. He wasn't the greatest with computers, but he knew enough to access e-mail like functions. He slid down into a seating position next to his door.

As time ticked away, K1 watched the clock on his bedside intently, waiting for midnight. Five minutes. Four minutes.
Three minutes.
Two minutes.
Thirty seconds...
And then it was midnight. There was a beep from the COMP. K1 sighed and opened the COMP. The mail was indeed from Laplace.
It was just as he thought. Though, why was it having the error here too? Was it because this dimension was becoming unstable too? Or was it unstable from the start?
K1 suddenly realized it had been a stupid idea to give Yuugi that COMP, and started hastily writing a mail before hitting send.
"stay out of it you'll just get killed"

Yuugi jerked awake at a beeping sound. He looked around and saw it was the COMP. He couldn't believe he had fallen asleep! He looked down and saw two messages. One looked suspiciously like spam, and he was about to skip over it when Atem touched his shoulder.
"Read it carefully!"
Yuugi looked again, and when he read the message he jumped to his feet. He opened the other message while taking a few steps towards K1's door. He paused.
"That has to be what he was concerned about... I don't think he's gonna let us help him like this..." said Yuugi.
"14:00? That's 2PM...
Yuugi realized what Atem was trying to say, "He can't stop us from going to the park, can he?"
Atem nodded to Yuugi and the teenager took off down the hall. If he could get to the park, he could wait there. He'd take the luxury of sleep that evening.

Deciding that it was best to get some rest before tomorrow happened, K1 drifted away into an unrestful sleep, unaware that upon Yuugi making the decision to wait in Portal Park for K1 to come, the two of them now had a synchronized Death Clock...
((Should we go ahead and move to Portal Park?))
