Souji's eyes narrowed. "Did you say the Persona that took Atem... looked like mine?" He ran back into the apartment. After a few minutes he came back out carrying the claymore from the previous night. "Get out of my way for a moment," Souji said, trying to stay polite, but it was failing due to the anger in his eyes. He pushed past Yuugi and headed across the hallway.
The silver-haired teen started banging on Adachi's door.
"Adachi! Get the hell out here!"

Yuugi nodded. When Souji practically flew back into his apartment he stood there feeling awkward. Didn't last for more than a few seconds before Souji politely asked Yuugi to move out of his way. Well... politely in the eerily calm psychopath sort of way. Yuugi's eyes widened, the fear at the shift in Souji's entire being stopping the flow of tears.
He all but hopped to the side as Souji began banging on Adachi's door. He reached up to wipe his eyes before pausing. His eyes got wide. If Souji was raging at the detective, did that mean...? -----
The Puzzle hadn't as much repelled the shadows as it had reacted to the expelling of one. In some other part of Atem's TV World, much deeper down than where the Pharaoh was wandering around, something vageuly humanoid was forming....

After a long, anxious minute, Adachi finally opened the door to his apartment, and was answered by Souji dropping the sword and grabbing Adachi by the collar.
"What the hell did you do with the Puzzle, Adachi?!" Souji yelled. Adachi winced.
"What are you talking about!?" Adachi said. He genuinely sounded surprised by this latest development. Souji slammed Adachi up against a wall, still holding him by the collar.
"Don't you dare try lying to me, Adachi!" The look on Souji's face was almost terrifying. The contrast to how he normally looked was the main reason why. "You and I both damn well know that we're the only ones with Izanagi here!"
"Let go of me!" Adachi reached up and pulled Souji's hands off of his shirt before backing away a bit. "I have no idea what the hell you're going on about!"
Souji had grabbed the claymore again, and looked like he was about to attack the detective.

Yuugi had caught a brief glimps of Souji's face, and part of his mind told him that was enough for five lifetimes. However, when Souji grabbed the sword he ran forward. He hoped the teen wouldn't attack him out of reflex, but he couldn't...
"Seta-kun, don't!" he shouted. He looked extremely pained, but tried to look pleading at the same time. He... he wanted Adachi to pay too, but he didn't want to be responsible for Souji killing Adachi. Which at the rate things were going, just might occur.
And because Murphy's an asshole, it was around this time that a certain epicly cloaked man was walking up the stairs. He paused just before reaching the second floor and looked to the side. That had sounded like Yuugi, but the panic in his voice was new. Seta-kun...? Naoya paused and chose to hang out in the hall. It sounded like something interesting was going on, and it wasn't like he'd given Keiichi a time when he'd be coming home.

Souji looked at Yuugi, and then back at Adachi, and gave the detective probably the most evil look possible.
"Do you remember what I told you yesterday, Adachi?" Souji said, his voice having become eerily calm. His eyes narrowed "I changed my mind. Jail's too soft for you."
Despite this, he turned away from Adachi. "You better thank Yuugi, Adachi. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had second thoughts about killing you just now."
Adachi backed up a bit, and closed the door to his apartment behind him. There was the sound of a deadbolt being locked.

Yuugi looked pained, but was really glad he'd said something. Not that he looked it, but... he knew the guilt over being responsible for Adachi's death would feel far worse than this. But he had no idea how to get to the right place in the TV World. Souji had said that every television lead to a different place. And it had rained tonight....
He wasn't even aware of it, but he had begun crying again. He was looking down, but the way his shoulders were twitching was characteristic of the emotion. Dammit, how old was he now? He was acting like some toddler... but he couldn't stop. It wasn't just that Atem might be gone, it was that it was his fault. He'd accepted that the thing on the tele--vision could be passed off. His only friend from his world... -----
Atem was a bit surprised he hadn't been attacked by and Shadows. Of any sort, actually. He'd wandered down a few flights of stairs by this time. The fact that something seemed to be guiding him was disconcerting. He could pretty clearly read the writing on the wall, but that wasn't what was tugging at him... somehow he wondered if he would be safer if he just stayed where he was at. His legs were getting rather tired, and he felt a migraine coming on...

Souji's face still had that almost terrifying expression on it as he ran down to a window at the end of the hallway. Peering through it, he breathed a sigh of relief. No fog.
He turned to Yuugi. "Atem will be fine for now. I don't think the fog will come for a while." His face twisted into a pained expression. Not again. Not again. And he knew that Adachi had done it too. But Adachi was a policeman. Unless he admitted things, or they had any incriminating evidence against him, they could do nothing.
It was supposed to rain tomorrow too. Hopefully the fog wouldn't come. Souji hoped to God the fog wouldn't come.

Yuugi had looked up as Souji looked out the window, but hadn't been able to make much of anything out. He wipes his face again, the bottom of his vest and shirt both were beginning to look like they'd been dipped in water. He opened his mouth, but no words came out. This wasn't a case of his other self being unconscious. He could die.
"W-What should we do...?"
There was a lot implied in that question, actually. What were the chances of finding the right portal, could they trust the forecast, how long did they have..... the big one: Would Atem survive?
Naoya made sure Souji was occupied before heading up the stairs. So something had happened to the Pharaoh. It wasn't anything he was involved with... but he had a feeling Keiichi would learn of it soon. Might as well get that reaction over with quickly.
Somehow he knew that his cousin would be checking on Yuugi as soon as he told him. He'd wake him up if he had to.

Souji sighed.
"We do what we can," Souji said. It was a simple answer, but it was the truth. Without Rise or Teddie to show them through the TV World, it could take a while to find Atem's world. Plus, they needed to find a safe place they could access the rest of the world from. Perhaps Yuugi's reality...

Yuugi nodded, but didn't look up at Souji. It didn't even occur to him it could be taken as rude. Which was a rather strong indication of how depressed the teen was. He began walking towards the stairs, "I'm going to bed..." he said quietly. It was possible Souji hadn't heard him. If he sounded any more depressed he could've brought down the sky itself. -----
Naoya opened the door to his apartment, "Keiichi, you awake?"

There was a grunt from K1 in response. He'd managed to shove his face into the pillow some time that night.
------------------
Souji gave a small smile at Yuugi, and turned back to his own apartment. Right across the hallway from the enemy, and couldn't do a thing about it. It was frustrating.

"Hey, it's none of my business that Atem's gone missing. If you're not interested in that, it's fine."
Naoya was rather sure that if Keiichi was even an iota awake he'd be fully awake at hearing that. Otherwise he'd leave the teen to sleep. He could honestly tell him he tried when he woke up in the morning.
Yuugi had gotten to his apartment. He stared at the door for a moment before shaking his head and reaching for the doorknob. If he'd let Atem act earlier, Adachi'd be trapped in some illusion. But he'd be alive. And they wouldn't be in this situation...

K1 pulled himself out of the pillow and looked up at Naoya. "Buh? What do you mean, he's been kidnapped?" He rubbed his eyes. K1 hadn't even been asleep that long either...

Naoya had figured as much. He didn't even bother to go to the doorway to relay his message to Keiichi, "Yuugi was with Souji in the hall, telling him to stop something. Souji mentioned that Atem would be fine and that the fog wouldn't come for a while," he paused when he heard Yuugi's door click, "It sounds like he's home."
Yuugi walked to his bed and fell into it. He began to cry again. He used his pillow to muffle the sound, but he was going to have to flip it over at this rate if he wanted to actually use it...

K1 shot up in bed and jumped out, heading for the door.
"I'm going to go see him," K1 said. Without bothering to put his shoes on, he walked outside and next door to Yuugi's apartment. He knocked on the door. "Yuugi? Are you okay...?"
