Souji smiled and shifted Kaini again. "I'm fine... just need to get him into bed." Bed would probably be the best thing for everyone at this point. Especially Minato, who looked like he hadn't slept in days. "And other than the murderous rage he'd gone into at the sight of what Belphegor did to Kaini here, K1's fine."
And this was the point that K1 made it down to where the group was standing. "I'd really like it if you didn't say things like that," K1 stated. He turned to Atem before looking at Naoya and holding back a yawn. "Let's get Kaini into bed."
It was entirely likely that Atem would be able to feel the increased darkness coming off of K1 now, due to a couple different causes.

Without the Pendant, Atem had to rely on his powers of observation. He paused for a moment and looked at Naoya. K1's stance had changed... while it had only been about six hours, K1's stance was far more like Naoya's. He shook his head, "I can understand it if those scars are any indication at what happened."
Well, more or less. It was possible K1 would come back with a quip about Atem not having any siblings and not possibly being able to understand. Atem knew the comparison could be made. Not only not any siblings, but K1 and K2 were twins. If the media was right, they tended to share a closer bond. He wouldn't be surprised if K1 chose to make that point. He turned his head as Yuugi made it up the stairs. His gaze softened to one of concern. Yuugi had been crying, although he'd done a fairly remarkable job at wiping the tears from his face.
Naoya pushed open the door to his apartment. He gestured to Souji, "Put him on the bed."
He headed into the apartment before waiting for a response and a look of annoyance the man was rare to sport plastered his face. Keiichi and his bags had been thrown into a corner. And considering the incident with the key... he scowled deeply as he walked over to the bags and roughly unzipped his. And then he looked pissed, but he said nothing. He pulled out a few pieces of paper and began looking through them. He could only be grateful no extra marks had been made, but they were out of order.
"Partner, are you alright?"
Yuugi nodded, "I'll be fine..." he transparently lied. Atem sighed, "Minato-kun, get some sleep... K1, here. In case," he handed the plastic bag of first aid supplies to the teenager. He glanced at the group. He wanted to ask Yuugi something, but he wanted to do so out of earshot of Minato.

Minato opened his mouth to object, but quickly closed it again. Right. Sleep. He started walking downstairs, turning around to look at the rest of the group before continuing downstairs, down the hall, and to his apartment, and well out of earshot by this point.
"No you don't... There's no way you could understand," K1 said in a low voice before walking into the apartment with Souji, who was heading straight for the back bedroom. The silver haired teen sat down on the bed before finally letting Kaini off of his back. The unconscious teen plopped onto the bed, and Souji was finally able to stand up and stretch.
"If you two think you've got this handled, I'm going to go to bed. I haven't slept in nearly a day," Souji said.
"Okay," K1 said.

Atem said nothing as he received the expected response from K1. However... it didn't seem to quite be from the angle he expected it, and it was far more muted. The matter of fact no room for argument way he had said it... Atem watched K1 go into the apartment. Souji (with Kaini) went in afterwards. Atem looked at Yuugi, "Did he chew you out?"
Yuugi shook his head and looked away, "...I wish he had. I... I betrayed his trust."
Atem closed his eyes and sighed. K1 had taken the calm route. He shook his head, "I'm sorry to force you away from this, but how many days does Minato-kun have?"
Yuugi looked up, "...two. Like before, each day brings the number down more. Why?"
"Unless he was lying he is going to get himself trapped somewhere then," Atem glanced to where Minato had wandered off, "You've been looking at the Pendant. K1?"
Yuugi nodded, "I think so..."
"I thought so. I need to talk to Souji. You should go back to bed. You haven't slept much, have you?"
Yuugi wanted to object, but Atem had a point. No, he hadn't. And it hadn't been restful while he had. He nodded and walked back into the apartment. Atem wasn't saying more than he had to. While Atem's reasons for it were the thin walls, Yuugi took it as the Egyptian teenager being careful... again. He sighed and sat on the couch, allowing himself to fall into a laying position. K1 hated him now...
Atem stood in the hallway and waited for Souji to come out. Two days. Minato hadn't seemed to be lying. Either he had misread the other teenager from exhaustion or Minato was going to get trapped. And with everything that had been going on, it was probably in the TV World. At least the weather was good. But two days? Without his Persona it likely meant it would be a result of a normal shadow, not his own. He hoped Minato had been lying, but he had to alert Souji to it.
Naoya sat down at his computer and waited for Souji to leave. He waited a few more moments after that before speaking to Keiichi, "We should leave as soon as Kaini is able. I think I can have the program reversed by tomorrow night, the night after that at the latest."

K1 nodded. "Okay." They'd been here much too long, and needed to get back to their home soon anyways. And now that Kaini was back, they had the perfect opportunity. Though K1 had the feeling that they had been planning to leave without Kaini to begin with.
Souji walked out of the Kimura apartment and closed the door behind him. He turned to Atem. "You should be getting to bed too."

Atem nodded, but stayed where he was standing. He followed behind Souji a bit as he walked. The silver haired teen was probably confused when Atem was still with him at the stairs, "Souji, Minato-kun said he was going to go to create the seal again tomorrow... Yuugi says his death clock is still two. I want you to know because we can't ignore the possibility that he is going to get himself trapped in the TV World tomorrow and die the day after... I'd like to think he was lying, but we can't rely on that. You're on his floor..." Atem looked away, a bit annoyed, "You can keep an eye on him better than Yuugi or I."
Atem took a breath, "I'm not saying stop him. In fact, suggest against it. His choice... might be the only option left. But you saw how he was. He's not sleeping, and I think he's scared Orpheus is going to attack him... or worse... Thanatos... I'm asking you to keep an eye on him."
Thanatos. Atem had looked uncomfortable as he said that. Orpheus was obviously Minato's main Persona. He was to Minato what Temu was to him. But Minato had called Thanatos something else. Death. And after the display at the cabin, Atem was inclined to believe it. Atem didn't know why Souji and Minato could summon multiple Personas, it was clearly something out of the ordinary. But if they could have more than one, it was possible any of them could go berserk. And Thanatos had seemed the type... that would enjoy it. Atem was looking Souji in the eyes, waiting for his response.

Souji nodded. Minato had obviously been scared of something lately, the lack of sleep was proof enough. And while Souji didn't want his friend to die, Atem was right. Minato was probably the only one who could stop the Fall now that they'd officially defeated all of the Arcana Shadows.
"I'll make sure I keep an eye on him," Souji said. "But I want you to keep an eye on the Kimuras. Belphegor was the only thing keeping them in this world, so they'll probably be leaving soon. If they leave any time soon, I want to know."
Minato had listened to what Atem had been saying, and had headed back into his room. After locking the door back behind him, he once again glanced at the Evoker on the table. He shook his head. Tomorrow.
But what Atem had been saying was concerning. Two days to live... but Minato had been planning to do it tomorrow since he made that decision back at the cabin. Was something going to happen then?
-------------
K1 sat down in a chair next to Kaini.
"...I'm just glad you're alive," K1 said. He yawned. "I'm tired too. In fact..." He leaned back in the chair, and closed his eyes, before finally falling asleep.

Atem nodded, his face still serious. It was darkly humorous the contrast between K1 as he was now and when he had come to the Island. When Yuugi had befriended the teenager, even Atem couldn't have guessed the darkening that had occurred to his spirit now. He seemed to have felt Midori was in denial... Atem wished Souji a good night as he headed to the apartment. Midori hadn't been the only one... but K1 wasn't in denial now.
He'd told K1 it would be risky. What he was doing was risky. He sighed... that precipice he'd spoken of. Casualties were unavoidable in a war, and it was pretty clear that's what Naoya's end goal was. But he hoped, and at this point it was a hope rather than an expectation, that K1 wouldn't kill for reasons other than those unexpected. He closed the apartment door behind him and shook his head at Yuugi. He'd gotten Atem the bed finally, it seemed. -----
Kaini made no response, he was still out.
Naoya barely twitched as he heard the door to Atem's apartment finally close. He had a feeling they weren't going to get out without being subjected to parting words by those who thought they knew best. Then again, perhaps that was best for Keiichi.
His cousin had asked if they could return to the Island. They could, true enough, but it would be a while before they had an opportunity. He had never said it to Keiichi, but Belphegor was right. Demons weren't that far removed from humans, and there would be an uprising against Keiichi's claim. Not at first... they'd fall into line well enough to get the Lockdown ended. That wasn't an issue. But once that stepping stone was past, there would be those that would try to defy the rule.
Naoya paused in his typing. He really was rattled, he'd been about to make an error in his coding. He sighed and glanced towards the bedroom. Both his brothers were asleep. He made a bitter grin. Brothers. Plural. For all the planning he did over his many lives, he had never thought he'd be in a situation like this.
He had no doubt Abel could manage it as he was now. That little display back at the castle? He could live by the Law of the Jungle. But... if certain truths came to light.... Naoya shook his head and went back to typing. He wasn't one to worry this much. If Abel learned what he had done to his parents to even allow what was now occurring, he'd deal with it then. After all, the Lockdown would have probably occurred either way. If he hadn't taken that action then... humanity would be glorified puppets right now.

(OOC: Time jump tiem. :3)
At about eight in the morning, K1 yawned and sat up. That had been a good nap. He looked over at Kaini, and realized, that A) Kaini needed a shower. Badly. And B) Kaini needed new clothes to wear. K1 stood up and walked over to his bags, pulling out a grey almost-sweater and pants. He placed them on the bedside table next to Kaini before walking out into the living room.
He waved to Naoya. "What've you been up to?"

Who was at this moment passed out at his keyboard. The screen had gone into hibernation mode, and it seemed by some fortune of coincidence that he hadn't landed on the keys. Actually, looking at the way he was using one arm as a pillow, he'd probably hit out of the way on the way down.
Naoya was remarkably tough at times. Keiichi had grown up with the man, it was likely the blue haired teenager thought he was invincible. Or at least had as a kid. But every once in a great while, the man would just... collapse. Hey, he was human, although at times he didn't seem to like to admit to that fact.
And the events of the Island, especially technically being smack dab in the worst part of the Lockdown? Finally caught up with him. He seemed rather out, and in a moment of undefinable levels of rarity, he didn't jerk right awake. He was out enough that Keiichi didn't wake him by speaking. -----
Atem was rather out too. If either he or Naoya heard this, they'd probably both kill the author, but they had far more in common than either would like to admit. They put on a show for the world. They weren't quite as tough as they seemed. They had someone they cared for. Naoya had a brother, who he did care for not that he would have ever admitted it... even to himself. Atem had Yuugi, even if the relationship was currently rather undefined and not fully admitted to... even after Atem's Shadow.
And they were both exhausted thanks to the events of the island. And having a bed for the first time... since Ancient Egypt really, as back in the Puzzle Atem was, well, in the Puzzle... he was rather soldily zonked out. Yuugi mumbled and managed to roll right onto the floor. Face planting not being a fun way to wake up and all that.
He groaned and pushed himself to his feet, rubbing his chest. Okay, its not like he needed to sleep with the Pendant on anymore... he should probably stop doing that. Cause getting that thing driven into your chest kind of hurt. He yawned and stood up, glancing at the digital clock. Eight or so...

K1 raised an eyebrow at Naoya's continued sleepiness. Okay. He must have really been tired if he hadn't woken up yet. Out of boredom, he decided to start cooking something for when the rest of the group woke up. He opened the pantry. Looked like they had rice and... ramen.
He had to facepalm, and reached for a pad of paper to write a note saying they needed to go grocery shopping before he remembered. That's right, they were leaving soon.
He lowered his hand. That was a bit depressing. But he'd promised Yuugi before. He'd come back some time after becoming the King of Bel.
But hadn't Yuugi broken his promise too? Why should K1 keep his?
K1 shook his head. Stupid thought.

Yuugi was still rubbing the sore spot in his chest as he walked into the kitchen. He was cooking this morning. Atem couldn't even read the instructions on a packet, and it wasn't a matter of not knowing kanji. He wasn't sure, but the taller teenager probably had better English reading skills, too. Yuugi wasn't quite sure where he'd picked up on that. I mean, he was pretty sure one year of high school English wasn't enough for that kind of thing. Probably via osmosis. Yuugi sighed. Atem picked up a lot of things just by observing.
He wondered how long before K1 left. He didn't want it to end on a sour note... but he had betrayed the teenager's trust. And Minato was going to die in two days. According to Atem, he was probably going to vanish today. Atem had talked to Souji about it last night. Yuugi was fairly sure about that. Yuugi sat down on a chair after putting the water on to boil. He still felt like a jerk for betraying K1. -----
Kaini groaned a bit and opened his eyes. He. Was. Sore. Something told him a meat grinder would have felt better. It took him a few moments of rather strong pain to realize everything that had happened recently... he knew why he was sore. And he didn't know how much time. Even on that cross he hadn't known how many days had passed.
His nose scrunched up and aside from being sore he... oh, right. He closed his eyes and turned away. Before coming to the island, he would have cried over things. But he wasn't sure he'd ever cry again. If there was some unspoken law of the universe that gave a person a quota, Belphegor had probably put him into debt with that. He sat up and felt his head swim, immediately laying back down.
The teenager was dehydrated to the point of being lucky to be awake. He wasn't much better food wise. While he didn't know it, he'd been on the cross for over two days. With no food and water during that time. He was probably alive via strength of spirit. He wasn't even aware as he groaned, but Keiichi probably was.
Naoya shifted position to, some part of his subconscious telling him that it was Keiichi. In his defense, the teens did have somewhat similar voices. Keiichi's, especially now, was dark to Kaini's meek. But they were similar.

K1 looked up from the rice he was preparing, and seemed to brighten up. It sounded like Kaini was awake. He practically bounded back into Kaini's room, catching himself with both hands on the door frame.
"Hey! Are you awake?" K1 asked. "You need anything? Water? Food? I'm making some rice for breakfast, if you're hungry. And there's a change of clothes next to you and a shower down the hall."
He sounded overly cheerful with that, more cheerful than he had the past few days. He smiled.

Kaini would have looked surprised had he the energy. He smiled a bit, although it seemed a bit more like a grimace. He sighed, "...I'm a little dizzy..."
More like he didn't think he could sit for more than two seconds for how his head was spinning. A shower sounded like a ble- sounded good. Great. But he doubted he could stand for his inability to sit. He swallowed, feeling a lump of saliva get caught in his throat, "I haven't had anything to drink in a while..." -----
It's not that Keiichi was heavy by any means. But upstairs apartments, thin walls, all but skipping? It tended to shake an apartment. Naoya opened his eyes and was about to chew Keiichi out for making a ruckus when his thoughts gathered. He ran his hand through his short bordering on medium hair and looked up. He'd fallen asleep at his keyboard. While not uncommon, the fact that Keiichi was very awake at the bedroom door? Meant he'd been up for a while. Naoya looked annoyed but heard Kaini speaking. He stood up, "I'll get him some water..." he mumbled.
He wanted to be the one to give Kaini the water. He'd have to be given it slowly. He wasn't sure how long the younger twin had been strung up, but it was likely long enough that Kaini would just get sick if he inhaled any liquid or food. And throwing up would not help the boy's condition.

K1 turned around. "Oh, uh... okay Naoya." He turned toward Kaini, still smiling. He walked over to the chair he'd been sitting in before and sat down in it.
"I was really worried for you, you know... Kaini." He looked down. "We just met like a week ago, but you know, you're still my twin... Hey... how's Mom doing anyways? I guess the person I always knew as mom isn't really my mom, so yeah..."
