Kaini woke up less than two minutes after Keiichi. He was still sore, but he pushed himself into a standing position. He glanced at the open bedroom door after seeing the bed was empty. He brought the momentary panic under control and stepped out of the bedroom. He paused.
Keiichi was looking at wall, his face flooded with concern. Kaini glanced around. He didn't see Cain anywhere.
"K1, is something wrong?" He asked. Possibly startling the older twin, he'd been quiet coming out of the bedroom and K1 could very well be lost in worried thoughts.

K1 jumped and turned around. After seeing it was Kaini, and not some nut with a knife, he returned to staring at the wall that separated Naoya and Yuugi's apartments. He had gone rather pale too.
"...I don't think they came back last night..." K1 said hoarsely. He ran out the door and down to Yuugi's door before he started knocking on it. He was doing the best he could to keep from practically banging on the door. They'd gone to Tartarus with Minato, who was supposed to die today. People's Death Clocks could change. And Yuugi owned a COMP. He was entirely capable of changing one's fate...
"Yuugi! Atem!" He called.

No response came for K1, no matter how hard he pounded or how loud he shouted. There was a possibility he was disturbing the entire complex with it, too. Kaini came out of the apartment after a few seconds of pounding. He opened his mouth but shut it again. There wasn't really much he could say. Yuugi, Atem, and the others had fought to protect Keiichi and Cain along with him during the events that lead to his kidnapping. It was pretty obvious Keiichi considered them good friends. -----
On the second floor, Naoya paused as he heard the hammering. Keiichi had woken up and found that Yuugi and Atem hadn't returned home. Naoya knew Souji hadn't either. He continued walking and came out from the top of the stairs to see one of his brothers panicking and the other at a loss for words.
"They didn't come back last night," he stated.

K1 stopped after Naoya spoke. He turned around to look at his cousin, and he looked about ready to break down. His expression was practically identical to the one he'd had after finding out Kaini had been kidnapped by Belphegor. Despite his anger toward Yuugi and Atem, he didn't want them to die.
"Wh-Why didn't they come back? There wasn't much they had to do! All they had to do was escort that stupid idiot Minato to the roof, and then leave! How could something have happened?!" K1 cried. "We can't leave today. We've got to go after them! If it's just so we can get my wallet back, fine, but I'm not going to leave them there!"

Naoya considered arguing the point. Keiichi was the one who really wanted to go back to make sure they didn't run the risk of over-running the deadline. But his younger brother was right, there was still the issue of the wallet. The only ones Minato would have given it to were Yuugi, Atem, or Souji. And of the three, Yuugi was the most likely. He didn't judge others the way that was normal for humans, he was blindly loyal in that sense.
Kaini finally worked up the courage, "We don't have to go back today. You know where they're at, right? Why don't we just go get them?"
Naoya shook his head, "They are likely at Tartarus. We can't even attempt to rescue them until midnight."
Kaini paled, "W-wait, midnight!? You mean that freaky... when the world...?"
Naoya looked up. Of course Seth would be awake then. He and Abel were. He nodded, "It's known as the Dark Hour and covers the same span of time as what is commonly called the Witching Hour. Tartarus is the tower that rises then," Naoya reached into his cloak and pulled out a grey COMP. He walked over to Kaini and handed it to him, "Yours doesn't work anymore for demon summoning, correct? This one hasn't been activated yet. Take it outside before you boot it up and make sure you're ready for a fight."
Kaini blinked, "Uh... why?"
Which proved Naoya's suspicion and possibly confused K1. Thing was, Kaini hadn't formed a "contract" in the traditional sense. The COMP had been given to him by the angels, they had agreed to help him become the Messiah without the normal method. Which meant Kaini knew nothing about the normal manner of forming contracts via the COMP. Naoya turned to Keiichi.
"You'll just be in the way at the apartment with your fretting. Go help him," Naoya had settled back into his role as the bossy big brother knows best personality.

For once, K1 had actually been about to argue the point, but he ended up listening to Naoya anyways. He walked over to Kaini, and as they walked outside, he explained things.
"Um, so when you activate a modded COMP for the first time, it summons a demon. Usually a low level one, like, I got a Kobold. If you manage to beat the crap out of it enough, it'll make a contract with you. After that, you can summon whatever demons you want," K1 explained. His face was still flooded with concern.
...You two better be okay.
