Elane looked back at Mahin. "What, you didn't hear that?!" she said when he asked where she was going. "That's my best friend! PEYTON!!" she shouted again, and moved one more branch out of the way.

And there she was.

Her best friend.

Peyton Cooke.

She was also in her Lyoko uniform, carrying her scythe. Had she fallen into the Digital Sea as well?

"Peyton!" Elane called before running over and embracing her bestest buddy in a constricting hug. "Holy crap, Peyton, I can't believe it's you! I thought I was dead! How're the others? Are they here, too? Where's Odd?!" As she rambled, Elane kept her tight grip on Peyton, despite the fact that she probably hadn't dropped her scythe yet and might've accidentally killed her if she wasn't careful...

Feh, but Elane doesn't know that he's dead yet. 8/ I think it'd make more sense if she was from a different dimension where William killed himself...but that's just me. 8P))

Mahin stopped as he watched the two embrass slightly confused by the situation.

Peyton kept searching around, her blue eyes not yet finding her best friend. She was about to turn around and give up, searching for a shrink to cure her delusional brain when she was tackled by her.

Elane Thompson. FREAKING Elane Thompson.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around her, dropping her scythe behind her onto the ground, the weapon sinking into the moist ground for when she'd need it next. "Lainey!" She smiled, nearly crying. She didn't know how long she'd been there, but it seemed like forever. Seeing Elane made her the happiest she'd been in a long while.

"I-I don't know. Yumi, Ulrich, Odd, and Aelita were all there but when Aelita went into the tower... everything started disintegrating.. the sector began to disappear and they all-" she choked up, biting her lip, "they all fell into the sea, Elane. The tower... everything. I swung at whoever was near me and I think I struck Yumi, devirtualizing her and sending her back but the others... I don't know, Elane. I don't know." Peyton looked up at her, tears streaking her dirty face.

She thought she'd lost everyone when she'd landed here.

Rose looked around confused. "Explanation please!" She called.

Elane released Peyton and looked at her.

They...they what...?

"...o-oh..." she said. Were they really gone?

That couldn't have been! No, it wasn't possible!

Oh, Odd...

She looked up. "Well...what about William? Did he make it?" she asked, noting how she hadn't mentioned the black-haired teen.

She turned to face Rose and the others.

"Guys, this is my friend--my best friend--Peyton. She's from...uh...the same place I'm from. We're roommates at Kadic."

((ooc: I think my brain has officially been fried to a crisp. ><))

Knuckle Joe barely cared about Peyton's sudden appearance, as far as he was concerned, he should've left long ago. "So you're from this 'Cahm-pew-ter world' same as Elane here, eh?"

He may have cared less, but this thing about a world where you can gain new abilities, train, and get hurt only to come back with no injuries at all? It DID sound like it had SOME appeal. "So your friend's told us a bit about the whole thing. Can you really train in that thing and not get really hurt no matter how hard the blow? That's what it sounded like to me."

Peyton stared at Elane, willing her tears to stay back in her head. She blinked a few times and collapsed to the mushy ground, holding her head in her hands. Her eyes leaked salty tears and dropped into the earth, sinking further into the dirt. After a few good moments of crying she made herself stop and get back to her feet, slumped over quite a bit more than before. She ignored Elane's question about William and skipped over to Knuckle Joe's.

"Um, actually no. We're not 'from' the 'computer world', actually called Lyoko. We're real people that live in France in a boarding school, okay? And yes, I suppose that's right, but we do get hurt, just not all that physically. We feel what happens in Lyoko, alright? Are we done with interrogations? If so, I'd really like to leave." She trudged forward, pushing past anyone in her way. Mentioning William took nice Peyton and turned her into someone who would eat you if you got too close.

William /had/ technically been the first guy she'd ever liked as more than a friend and when he'd admitted that he liked her too, but then committed suicide into the digital sea, she'd nearly killed herself. How could he have done this to her? Worse-how could she have let it happen? It was her fault, and she knew that. No matter what anyone said....

It was her fault William Dunbar had killed himself.

"So you two fight in a digital world, and on top of that, it seems like you two are all that's left, right?" rose asked.

Startled, Elane stepped back a bit as Peyton had her breakdown. What was wrong with her?

Well, other than the fact that half of their team was gone...

...but they might not have been! After all, Peyton had said that she had fallen into the Sea, too, and yet she was standing right there!

Finally, Peyton got up, and Elane turned to face Rose. "Well...I-I don't think so," she said. "They might be here, too! Or, at least, that's my theory."

But right now, Elane didn't have time to explain far-fetched theories and hopes--right now, Peyton needed her, whether she knew it or not.

She caught up to her. "Peyton!" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "What's wrong, Pey? Don't you know that the others might be here, too?! We can still find them! And once we do, we can all find some way to get back home! There's gotta be some way out of...uh...wherever we are."

Where the heck were they, anyway? A giant rainforest in the middle of nowhere?! That didn't seem right...

"You're on Dimensional Island."

Was it surprise or fear, the reason Peyton and Elane turned to Knuckle Joe? "You see, from what I can gather from travelin', this place is basically one gigantic island floating above an even bigger void miles below it." He thought a moment; a good example... "Think of the void like this... 'Di-ge-tal sea' you were talking about. One way in, no way out. You fall in, you're dead meat."

He shrugged a little. "I really don't know too much about the island. I only got here like a week ago, after being warped in from my world; a planet called Popstar. All I really know is that their's SUPPOSED to be a town around here somewheres." He frowned deeply. "Keyword; SUPPOSED. I've been wandering around this place for DAYS and I still can't find any town."

"He's not here! William is dead and it's my fault. Can we just drop it?" Peyton snapped at Elane, nearly taking her head off with her scythe. She felt terrible about it afterwards, but she wouldn't show it. She stalked forward, ignoring whatever Knuckle Joe had said. She gripped her scythe tighter, her knuckles turning bright white.

She was frustrated and didn't care if /he/ hadn't found the way out; she would.

Mahin was intimidated by Peyton and began running to hide behind a faraway tree for safety scared.

"Hey you need to calm down!" rose exclaimed.

"And you need to butt out of my business." Peyton threatened, pushing her finger in Rose's direction threateningly. She pushed her backwards and turned back around, taking a piece of hair from her face and tucking it behind her ear.

She had no time for odd little creatures pushing her around; she needed to get out of here. And fast.

Mahin stared at what was happening frightened, he had no clue whether to run or not and stood there.
