The Fallen Warrior

Somewhere, deep in the heart of the rainforest, a portal was opening up as a young lady of about fourteen stepped out, holding her head as she did so. With her free hand, she leaned on a nearby tree, her eyes closed. She appeared to be suffering from a migraine.

"Ugh..." she moaned, and shook her head, still unaware of her surroundings. The last things she remembered were a sharp pain in her left soulder, a few screams, and then...

"...dang, Jeremy," she said, although there appeared to be no one around (of course, she didn't know that yet), "that battle was brutal. Ya think XANA has it in for me? ...Jeremy?"

When nobody answered, she finally looked up...and nearly fell backwards in shock.

This...this wasn't the factory.

Nor was it any sector of Lyoko that she had ever heard of.

She took another look around, still unable to comprehend what was happening...but the biggest shock came when she saw her outfit.

"What the--?! Th-these aren't my clothes! At least, not in the real world! B-but I don't understand! What happened? Why am I in my Lyoko outfit?! I-I thought I got devirtualized!?!"

Elane Thompson continued to voice these questions aloud, despite the fact that there was no one around.

Wait...no one around...but what about...

"...ODD!!" she cried, panicked. She was sure her boyfriend had devirtualized before her. Was he here, also? "Odd?!" she called again. When there was no answer, she began to call out for her other friends. "Ulrich! Yumi? Peyton!!"

Defeated, lost, and completely alone, Elane fell to her knees and began to break out into quiet sobs.

"...anybody...?"

((ooc: Okay, I know this was really long, rambly and dramatic, but this was te first thing that came to mind, so...yeah. If anyone wants to join, then this board is open. 83))

"GAH!! SONNUVA-!!!! That damn wolf lied ta me!!!!!"

The voice carried on through the forest, alerting anyone in the near vicinity... Along with the sound of a very loud thud. Judging by the loud 'SLAAAAM!!!!' and the chipping noise that followed previous to the thud, one could safely surmise that someone had just knocked over a rather huge tree.

The camera leaves a most likely surprised Elane, and travels through the trees before it finds the center of the ruckus...

Knuckle Joe was seething thoroughly as he observed the tree he had just finished punching over. Despite the fact that he just knocked over a wonder of nature, he had to admit, it succeeded in making him feel better.

"Sheesh... Said I could find a town in this direction... HMPH!!! The jerk..." Knuckle Joe HMPH'd to himself repeatedly as he left the tree behind, pulling out one of the packs of Reeses he had collected some time ago and pulled one out. At this point the chocolate had partially melted into a gooey paste with peanut butter inside, but the fighter cared less, and took a vengeful chomp out of it.

As he chewed however, his ears picked up on an interesting sound... It sounded like...

"Running water?" He looked around carefully. "Sounds like a lot of it..." He made his way in the direction of the water, pushing past trees, branches, plants and such...

When he finally pushed past the last branch.

... ... ... ... "Phew! Nice."

A river lay before him, much like a babbling brook, it looked pretty deep though.

The boy could care less however and ran over the river, gratefully drinking from it. "Ah... Fresh!" He then took another handful of water and splashed himself in the face. A good way to wake oneself up from a long distance hike. The spray of the cool water was so enriching, man oh man, after sweating like a hog all day long, feeling the water felt appropriately like heaven.

The desire was tempting... Knuckle Joe looked to the water a moment, thinking... ... ... Finally he shrugged. "Ah, what the heck?"

That was the last thing said, before he sucked in a deep breath, and dunked his head underwater.

Suddenly Mahin came flying out of a portal from above. "Wahhhh!!!" He screamed as he fell to the floor. "Ouch..." Mahin said as he looked over to see a blonde girl crying.

[night sky]

A path of ice wound it's way through the forest. Rose was skateing along it as she created the path with ice beam, till she tripped over a root and as sent flying into the same clearing as Mahin and Elane seeing herself in for a hard landing she used power snow to make a snowbank and landed with a poof, instead of a thud. She poked her head out with snow makeing her fur sparkle.

At the sound of a tree crashing to the ground somewhere in the distance, Elane looked up. She wasn't alone here...

...and that became perfectly obvious when a large...er...thing...landed right in front of here.

"What the--?" Elane didn't have much time to say anything else before a sort of blue dog-like creature landed in a pit of snow that just seemed to appear out of nowhere close by.

For a moment, Elane just sat there, looking back and forth from one to the other with her tear-stained eyes. She was about to ask who they were, but instead she asked a slightly more rude question;

"...um...what are you? And for the love of God, please tell me you two are a couple of new monsters that XANA created in order to stop my friends and I from defeating his evil plans!" she added. It wasn't until about five seconds later that she realized how strange that comment must have sounded.

((ooc: Shorter post. Yayz! But I failed to include Knuckle Joe very well...>.< Sorreh.))

[No prob. He's not really all that close to the action yet.]

Knuckle Joe plucked his head out of the water, and shook it off like a dog. "Man oh man! Talk about refreshing!"

He grinned as he dunked his head underwater once more and took a deep drink. Pulling his head out of the water, Knuckle Joe swallowed it all down, and took a deep breath. "Ah!" He grinned as he took the second Reeses out of the pack, and chomped it down.

Again, life was good.

... ... ... ... ... At least, until he was aware of voices somewhere not too far off from where he was.

"What the?"

[night sky]

"What's a xana?"" rose asked as she exited the pile of snow.

"What are you talking about? I'm as confused as you here" replied Mahin as he sat on the floor.

Elane turned to the dog-like creature, disappointed.

"Aw, MAN!!" she groaned, now certain that she was probably miles from home right now. "I can't believe this!! ...it's gotta be a trick. This is probably some weird new virtual world that XANA trapped me in! Yeah, that's it. I'm sure the others are alread--"

She stopped thinking aloud.

She gaped at the creature like she had before, more than a bit bewildered.

"I--you--...you talked...!"

Of course, Elane wasn't entirely sure why she was so surprised--she had just asked it a question not two minutes ago, hoping for an answer.

[Don't worry, a lot of times, some RPers are really late posting, so they make posts like that. You're okay.]

Knuckle Joe, now officially curious, filled his multiple canteens with the clean and fresh water, stuffed them in his backpack and slowly approached where the voices were.

It was a known fact that Knuckle Joe was usually one to punch first, ask questions when he got around to it; so, with his back pack secure on his back, he got in a battle pose as he slowly pushed through some branches.

As he did, he could hear the sounds better...

They were indeed voices...

But what were voices doing this far away from civilization?

Surprisingly, the two creatures' voices were not the only odd sounds Elane heard.

Was it just her, or was there something--or, perhaps, someone--lurking in those branches close by?

Instinctively, Elane reached for her bow (which, thankfully, was just to her left) and an arrow from her quiver. She stood up, readying her weapon as she did so, and aimed at the source of the rustling she was sure she had just heard.

"...who's there?" she asked, although she wasn't entirely sure it was anything that actually posed a threat. Elane tightened her grip on her bow as the tip of her arrow sparked with electricity.

"Show yourself!"

Jeez, would this be embarrassing if a bunny rabbit hopped out of the brush!

Mahin turned to Rose and asked "You have any idea what's going on?" confused.

[night sky]

"No i was just skating hit a root, made the snow pile to protect me from a hard landing." Rose then answered Elane, "Yes i can talk, this island apparently screws with language barrier." Rose finished.
