"As for you." Rose directed her attention to Knuckle Joe "The city in the canopy is that way." using her tail to point the way.

For a moment, Elane just blinked, confused...

...before she finally decided that she had had enough.

Frustrated and worried for her friend, Elane stepped in front of Peyton and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Peyton," she said, quietly but stern. "none of the others are dead. Do you hear me? And it's not your fault this happened. For all we know, this could be some trick played by XANA (although I'm kind of doubting it). Peyton, we'll find William. He's here--somewhere on this--Dimensional Island thingie. I'm sure of it!"

Of course, Elane couldn't help but feel guilty about lying to her friend. Right now, she wasn't sure of anything. Just that they were in a strange place with some strange characters...although the others seemed willing to help them, so that was a plus.

She continued. "Listen, Pey, Rose says she knows a way out of here, and I suggest we follow her. We can't just stay out here in this rainforest forever! We've got to find the others! If they fell into the Sea as well, then I know we'll find them...somewhere..."

Mahin came out of his hiding place and stood next to Rose as he watched the two.

[Hey, at least you got something on here. And besides, it doesn't look that bad to me.]

"Sheesh... Talk about a foul attitude."

However, when Elane gave Peyton the pep-talk, the boy merely shrugged. "Believe what you want." He nodded to Rose before he started to walk in the direction Canopy City was located in. "Now I don't know about the rest of ya's, but I'm not sittin here any longer. I'm gone."

However something seemed to nag at Knuckle Joe's conscience... A rare occurance in and of itself. He turned back to the two fallen Lyoko Warriors, wondering about the nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach. Sighing, he turned back to the gang, giving them a small look. "If you want to start your search anywhere's, I'd say you start it at Void City." When confused looks came his way he pointed in a certain direction. "I don't know how far it is at this point since I feel like I've been wandering around in coicles, but I know for sure it's somewhere in that direction." He rubbed the bridge of his nose assuredly. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I gots me a city to find."

Before anyone could move, a giant spider emerged from the jungle, searching for it's next meal. It's fangs dripped with venom as it stared hungrily at the group before it. However, before it could make a move, a loud roar echoed in the air and shook everyone and everything in the jungle for miles.

Before anyone could question what it was, a huge gorilla dropped from the tree above them, shaking the ground as it landed. The gorilla had thick brown hair on it's body, except hands, feet, chest, and face. Those areas had peach-toned skin like some humans. The top of the animal's head had a tuft of fur twirled about to look like a sort of hairstyle. The most distinguishing feature of this ape aside from it's amazing size and muscles was that it wore a red necktie with the letters "DK" printed on.

The gorilla beat his fists against his chest, causing visible soundwaves to appear as the base-toned drumming made by his pounding filled the air as he let out a roar identical to the one heard before.

The spider glared hatefully at the ape and lunged at him, but the gorilla showed amazing speed and agility as he lept to a tree and bounded off it to deliver a high-speed flying kick to the spider's side.

The spider swiped at the gorilla with it's legs but the ape jumped and landed on the spider's back before delivering a volly of lightning-fast punches that moved so quickly they were impossible to see. The spider died as a result of the beatings, and the gorilla let out a victory cry that some members of the group he saved recognized as the Tarzan yell.

The gorilla suprised everyone after that by saying in a kind and freindly voice, "Are you guys ok?"

From slightly afar you could here a faint yelling, and Mahin was apparently gone already. He had the bejeebers scared out of him so you can see how he ran that fast and was out of the forest in no time.

The gorilla turned to the others and said, "He shouldn't be out there on his own. There's more of these spiders and some other dangerous creatures running around."

It was official, the dreamland citizen had seen everything...

His eyebrow had been raised in bewilderment, hardly able to take that a giant spider had snuck up on them; much less the fact that this giant ape had beat him to the punch, when it came to beating the everloving crap out of it.

After a long silence he finally broke the ice... In his typical fashion.

"Yeah, I coulda handled that spider on my own. I just needed to have seen it first." with that statement said, he stared at the ape crossly, "Who are you anyways? Some distant cousin of Bonkers? That overgrown ape did say he had some family members as big as himself."

The only reason he knew that was because Bonkers had stated that fact to the others whilst Kirby easily kicked his butt in a one-on-one duel; but he wasn't about to tell THEM that.

The big ape looked at Knuckle Joe oddly and said, "I don't know anyone named Bonkers, kid. My name's Donkey Kong! The biggest, strongest ape in the world! All my friends just call me DK."

At the mention of his friends, his face fell.

"Say, any of you wouldn't have happened to have seen a chimp wearing a red had and T-Shirt with yellow stars printed on, have ya? Or perhaps a monkey with a long, blond ponytail? Or even a wrinkled old ape with a cane and long beard? Heck, at this point I'd even settle for a fat green croc wearing a red cape and golden crown!"

Peyton stopped short in front of Elane, her eyes growing fierce. "No, Elane. We won't find William. He didn't just fall; he jumped, Elane. He committed suicide and just before he did? He said he liked me too. Do you expect me to just get over that? I wanted to die, Elane. I really did. But I want to prove I can do things all on my own; I want to be strong. Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi; they're all probably alive but he's gone..." Peyton trailed off, her voice choking back into her throat. A tear slid down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away. "He's gone and there's nothing I can do about it. I felt powerless again and I don't ever want that to happen..."

She choked back her tears and blinked rapidly, trying to keep them at bay. If she could just turn away from the others and cry.

She wanted to be able to open up and get help from all of them but she needed to be in control. A sigh escaped her lips and she turned to rose, her face pink and her eyes wet with tears. "Lead the way?" She asked, lowering her scythe and giving a small apologetic smile to the small little.... creature. "I believe I own you all an apology. I'm kind of... going through a tough time right now. I promise I'll try and behave more like a human." She addressed everyone, lowering her head.

Rose jumped and pulled a one eighty opening her mouth as a light blue energy collected in it. before the ape beat the stuffing out of the spider she closed her mouth dissipating the energy. "No we haven't. well at least i haven't." Rose told the ape. "And no hard feelings, you're not nearly as bad as my friend when he's moody, he launch you across the Kanto and Jhoto regions with out batting an eye is you catch him at the wrong time."

"Oh well..." DK sighed as he stratched the back of his head. "Didn't hurt to try... I got separated from my home island after these weird bugs destroyed the place. As to how I got here, I have no clue. But I was able to find a village not far from here. I'd better take you guys there since this jungle is pretty dangerous."

After seeing the giant spider being defeated by the large...er...talking gorilla thing, Mahin running off into the forest, and listening to Peyton go on about how William had supposedly committed suicide (dear Lord, her best friend had already gone insane...), Elane knew one thing and one thing only; that she wanted to get the hell out of this place as soon as possible.

She recalled Knuckle Joe saying something about there being a city somewhere due North, according to the direction that the sun was setting.

"...well," she began, hoping to make this good-bye nice and short, "it's been great guys, really. But sadly, Peyton and I need to go to this...ah...void place and find our pals. I'm sure most of you can understand that. Anyway, I guess we'll just...catch you guys later then."

She turned to Peyton. "C'mon, Pey. We've gotta get to the city before sundown." Elane didn't even want to THINK about what might happen if she had the displeasure of coming across another one of those giant spider things.

Giving one last wave to her new acquaintances, Elane led the way (Peyton was following close behind) to where Knuckle Joe had said the city was at, hoping for the life of her that she could somehow find her friends and wake up from this nightmare...
