Magus was aware he was being followed. Damn. If the girl insisted on coming with him he'd have to protect her. And if she refused to come out of whatever delusion she'd trapped herself in, that would be hard. He hadn't been able to do it for Schala. Her insistance that the queen could be saved... her unwillingness to accept that their mother had already died and was merely a puppet... he turned towards Madotsuki as she caught up with him.
"If you don't want to wake up, you might not want to come with me,"
It was the best way he could figure to word it. What he was implying was that he would be working at getting the girl out of her delusion. It wasn't just "warm fuzzies" that made Magus not want to travel with her. It was how badly she could interfere with his fighting. Allies were weaknesses. He had quite literally broughten allies to the brink of death before just to give himself a boost to his weapon. And without someone nearby to heal her, it could mean her death...

Madotsuki stared up at Magus with bright, watery eyes.
Was she gonna cry? Was she gonna cry?
Oh, you knew the answer to that question already.
She started bawling. And then clung to Magus's leg.

Magus paled, which considering his skin tone was a pretty impressive feat. He looked around quickly. No one seemed to be there. He sighed and lowered himself the best he could with a living leg growth and carefully brushed the girl's hair out of her eyes. He wondered if this was how Schala felt when she consoled him. He wasn't used to this, being on the "older sibling" end of the spectrum.
"Hey, settle there. It'll be all right," If any of his former lieutenents saw this he'd never hear the end of it. Slash would harass him, Flea would be fangirling despite his gender, and Ozzie would probably be trying to figure out how to sweatdrop without insulting him, "Hey, shh. Look, you can come. Alright?"
Oh yeah, awkward. He was quite glad Crono and company weren't here right now...

Madotsuki looked up at Magus and wiped a few tears out of her eyes. "YAAAAAAY!" She stopped latching onto his leg and stepped away far enough so she could materialize her bike.
"So where are we gonna go, Mr. Magus?" Madotsuki asked.

Magus sweatdropped as the bike surfaced. Her magic may not have been the same as his own, and seemed useful only for parlor tricks, but it was interesting. He sighed and looked in the direction he had been heading, "To look for someone..."
How much of my past does she know? She knows my name... how much more?
"...someone important," he finished.

"Someone special?" Madotsuki asked. "Okay then! Do you have a chair? If you do, you can use this bike, and I can just walk!"
At the moment, she wasn't going to ask any questions. As it was, she felt like she was in some AWESOME self-insert doujinshi. She'd have to ask one of her online friends to make that too.
((OOC: The chair thing's a reference to a glitch in Yume Nikki that makes you go faster if you use the bike effect while sitting at the chair in Mado's room. Great for going place's fast.))

Magus wasn't sure how to answer. The answer was "no", but he wasn't sure she'd take it well. There wasn't really any way around it, "My magic doesn't work like that."
Short, not pointlessly imbellished. He hoped she'd take it well...

"Oh, okay," Mado said, and stayed on her bicycle. "Let's go..."
And then she went practically silent again, staying on her bike as Magus walked.
This dream world was more realistic than the other ones in her brain for sure.

Magus had no idea where he was going, either. After a few moments of silence that quite frankly felt more awkward than he was used to, he let himself fall back so he'd be walking beside the girl.
"How well do you know this place?" He hoped it didn't sound too official. Why not? Schala would have found this cute and hilarious. Alfador probably would have "laughed" in the way only cats are capable. He took a deep breath as he waited for a response.

Madotsuki looked up at Magus, and started doing sign language. Yep, it was back to the weird. If Magus could read sign language, it would have said, "Not much."
It was a wonder she was still holding onto that bike with one hand and not swerving at all. That would be a dream bike for you.

It was a good thing Magus could sense magical energy. Otherwise he would have thought the girl was casting a spell he wasn't familiar with. Schala could cast spells with a few gestures, her power was strong enough the simpler ones needed no words. But it became clear the girl was trying to communicate. Well, away from Schala and back to the Nu. He at least knew enough to know it was probably a form of unspoken language, just not one that Zeal or Guardia had used.
He shook his head, "I'm sorry, I don't know that language."
Ayla probably would've understood. That brash cavewoman had been more knowledgable in language using body signals. Although Ayla probably would have punched Tree a few times for fun. So it was probably a good thing the fur wearing girl wasn't here.

Madotsuki looked back at her bicycle's handlebars. "...Not much." She said. "I haven't explored a lot of this world yet. I think I'm going to call it Neo World, though."
Neo World. It was a bit close to Neon World, but it worked for now. Maybe later, she could come up with a better name.

Magus was a bit surprised her "nickname" didn't throw him. He decided he was getting used to her. And to be fair, he didn't know what the place was called either. He'd been calling it "void" in his head when he had to come up with a description.
Although it meant the two of them had no clear path now. If he'd been by himself, he probably would have found some weaker monsters and scared the information out of them. As it were, he didn't want to worry Madotsuki. He could flush some monsters if any were in the area.
"Stand back," he said. His years of battle meant he didn't think that he should maybe wait for her to comply before he began chanting. At least his magic took enough time that those who knew the game should have the sense to step back as he chanted.
"Ya amu uwen-ki suru..." he spoke as he gestured.
His chanting had lasted about three seconds, maybe a little longer. He had about three seconds more of spell if you counted the attack name...
(OOC: He's casting Dark Mist. Basically a "stream" of black mist will fly out in front of him, he can cause it to circle around the trees and such with a little extra concentration. Also, if Mado decides jumping in front of it is a good idea he can also divert the mist to swirl around her.
The rest of the spell he has to say is, "lan... DARK MIST!" and you have permission to have him complete that. It'll travel for about twelve feet, full distance (meaning if he diverts it at six feet it would continue for another six. He can cause it to swirl in one area but the total ground covered is about twelve feet before dissipating)

Madotsuki stood back as the dark mist covered the area. She couldn't remember what it did, but it wasn't as freaky as some of her dreams, so she wasn't worried.

"-lan... DARK MIST!"
Magus shouted as a stream of semi-transparent black-ness materialized in front of him and shot through the trees. He maintained his concentration and allowed it to pass around many trees. There was quite the visible effect. Plantlife it touched shrivelled, the weaker ones dying as if the life force had been drained from them. A few animals did scurry out, but nothing Magus had been hoping for. Squirrels, a rabbit here and there, but no monsters.
He lowered his arms and looked around, hoping maybe he'd missed a particularly agile enemy flee to the trees. But nothing. He grabbed the scythe he had planted in the ground and turned to make sure Madotsuki was all right. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do now. He'd seen buildings in the distance when he was up in the tree. Right now it seemed the best option.
