Today was a good day. No rain, no evil creatures stalking the city... just good old fashioned sunshine and solitude. Not that he didn't like his new family at Gantz's abode, they were just busy training, and he wanted a little time to himself, which he hadn't really gotten since he first stumbled into this place.
Any park patron that passed by the fushia dog sitting near the fountain didn't give him a second glance. And that was just fine to Courage.

Unfortunately for Courage, evil did stalk the park... hidden under a parasol. And, though she acted evil, she hadn't really done any misdeeds ever since the Shrine Maiden had stopped her from covering Gensokyo in a scarlet mist, so... what was she? She may have been a vampire, but she was, by no means, worthy enough to be considered the daughter of Vlad Tepes... except when she was using her full power, then you could say that just having such power put her there. But even see, when she saw Courage, couldn't help but stop and look. "Eh? A... purple dog?" Remilia said, honestly confused.

Somewhere ahead of Courage, a small portal opened up long enough to spit something small, brown, and furry out before closing back up. The furry thing tumbled across the path before it knocked into the dog... It was a young bear cub. The cub pulled his head up and rubbed it before checking out his surroundings.

It was such a lovely day out. Nothing could disturb this perfect day! Courage lowered his head down, about to fall asleep...
...until he was KNOCKED to the side by with he innately assumed was attempted destruction.
"AAAGHHHHH!!" he screamed, collapsing into the grass numbly with a big... fluffball onto top of him. After giggling dizzily like usual, he shook his head and looked up at the bear cub. From this angle, he looked to Courage like a terrifying grizzly.
"AGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!![/b]"

Remilia sighed as she entered the shade of a nearby tree. "Much better. The sun makes everything so hot," she groaned. "But if I try to get rid of it, someone's just gonna come after me again... and Sakuya's not here either." She looked like she was sulking until she noticed the bear roll into the dog out of nowhere... and the dog screamed. "Eh? Did I... hear that correctly?" Remilia used her fingers to scrape the insides of her ears out, but there didn't seem to be any wax there. "Must be my imagination." But, once again, when Courage looked up at the bear, he screamed. This time, Remilia knew what she heard and she let out a gasp. "That dog can scream like a human! Wh-What?!" She ran over and curiously poked the purple dog. "Can you talk too?" With no one to really push around, she seemed more like a child then the unholy terror she usually was.

The cub stumbled backwards when Courage screamed. "Hey, calm down; I'm not gonna eat ya," he chuckled somewhat as he got up. "Unless you're a fish. And if that's the case, you're the weirdest salmon I've ever seen."

"AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH-unh?" Courage sat up and... oh! The bear was talking! To him! And it wasn't as scary as he first thought!
"Oh... um... no... I'm not a fish," he blinked; least, last time he checked he wasn't.

Remilia blinked as the two talked to each other, utterly ignoring her. It wasn't the ignoring that bothered her though. She didn't mind that much at all. Her mind was processing what she just saw and when she hit, she reacted in a way suitable to the strongest of all vampires, the Scarlet Devil of Gensokyo, she who controlled magics beyond anyone's understanding.
"AHHHHHHHH! TALKING ANIMALS!" She fell back, lost her parasol, but at least she was in the shade. Well, to be fair, there were no real animals that talked in her world. The animals that talked weren't animals, but Youkai, and ended up being more humanoid in form, not to mention looking very cute. "What kind of world is this?"

The cub was about to say he didn't think so when some strange girl caught his attention. He stared at her in a bemused deer in the headlights kind of way, saying, "Uhhhh... hello?"

Courage gasped smally in surprise, and was about to scream again, when the parasol landed right in front of him. He cocked his head, then took it into his paws, stood up, and approached her somewhat feebily.
"Um... you dropped this."

Where is Sakuya? She needs to see this. Talking animals... the world's coming to an end... or at least it would if this were Gensokyo. Where did I end up anyway? Courage suddenly returned her parasol to her. "Oh... thanks." It wasn't like Remilia to say thank you to someone so casually, but then again it also wasn't like her to fall over screaming. But her pride had been momentarilly forgotten when the dog talked. She needed to express herself somehow.

The cub thought it best to introduce himself at this point. "I'm Koda, by the way," he said. "What are your names?" he asked the dog and girl.

Courage glanced back at the bear cub, and an encouraged, is slightly shy smile came to his face. "I'm... Courage!"

Remilia rubbed her eyes. She couldn't believe this. Two talking animals. Was it just her? Maybe it was this world. She decided to just go with. Stretching her bat wings out, her scarlet eyes seemed to glow in the shade. Normally she might've sounded like a pride-filled egotistical brat... but to animals? That would've been pathetic on so many levels. So she decided to try and act "normal," cool and collected, kinda like Sakuya. "I'm Remilia Scarlet... Scarlet Devil of Gensokyo... Vampire, only right now I'm not hungry." That was right. Before she came to this world through the portal, she had managed to have her daily cake and tea, which had blood in it, and with her light appetite, it had held her over, so she was fine.

Koda nodded to each. "Courage and Ramilia? Nice to meet you." After a beat, he asked bemused, "What's a scarlet devil... or a vampire?" Glancing around again and sniffing the area out, another question came to mind. "And... Do either of you know where I can find the mountain where the Lights touch the Earth from here? I-I was just there a moment ago, and I'm usually pretty good at finding my way around, but I don't recognize this place at all." Koda's sense of confusion was starting to show more as he spoke.
