Yami shrugged, "It's up to you. I'm tied to your hip for the forseeable future."
He'd gotten to sounding bitter finally. The fact that emotion had re-entered his voice was probably a comfort to Josah at the moment. Despite telling Josah it was up to him, he was quickly leaving the alley. After all, it wasn't really the greatest idea to hang around a mutilated body. He did intend to let Josah pick the route, but after they got away from the bloody mess.

Josah quickly followed. And, surprisingly enough, he found Yami's bitter tone to be oddly comforting. But Josah wasn't a complete idiot. There was one nagging thought in the back of his mind. One that slipped through Other Josah's suppression.
"What... what's going to happen to me? When... when my 'other self' takes over. I heard what you said. There was something trying to block it from me, but I heard. What... where will I be?"

Yami looked pained for a moment, but Josah's question managed to get him to stop. He tried to hide the worry about the likely occurance behind a callous expression, but it wasn't as successful as he would have hoped.
"I can't say for sure, but it seems... you'll be sealed. Deep in the heart of the Asrai. To be honest, its a far harsher fate than I know them to merit," he was clenching his fists hard enough that a bit of blood was trickling down from where his nails were digging into his palms, "I can't help you, certainly not as I am now. I only call him an Asrai due to the energy he gives off, but as far as I'm concerned he's as bad as most demons. It's a matter of your freedom or mine."
Perhaps it was a bad idea to be this candid with the boy. But he felt it would be better for the boy to accept his fate now than later. And perhaps he stood a chance of freeing himself. But Yamiyo knew he couldn't do it for him. And any suggestion to take that route would not be taken kindly by the spirit.

"Ah... I don't want to go away. But... I guess if I have to 'save the world' or whatever..." Josah sighed in response. It was obvious that the demon put his survival before the child's own. As was understandable. It was the nature of living things, really. For a moment, a tear streamed down his cheek. He wiped it off quickly. Now wasn't the time for sadness.
"Right! I say we find a nice place to rest."

Yami nodded, "If you're wondering, I don't know this world or may way around it," he paused, "How much do you know about Gates and Keys?"
The boy was less a fool than the spirit thought, which was actually an encouraging thing to think about. If Josah could surprise the spirit, perhaps he could cause him to split off. He was rather annoyed by the "if it'll save the world" thought the boy seemed to be resigning himself to. He wished he could talk to him without the angel hearing.

"Aren't Gates portals and Keys the people that open said portal? I dunno how I know that. Maybe my other self is feeding me information." Josah responded, mumbling the last part.
"Any particular reason you wanna know?"

Yami nodded, "An oversimplification, but it works. Apparently I'm a Key, it's how I got here. But this isn't the Earth I know. My point is, I don't know my way around here anymore than you do."
Which Yamiyo hated to admit. If the other Josah was truly an Asrai, he'd know far more about the Gates and Keys than Josah would ever dream about knowing. He'd also know that the Council Members for the seven Prime Worlds were missing, some for quite a while. In fact, Bazaroth and Asrai were both working to find the Council Keys for their worlds first. It would grant them a huge advantage in the political setting of the Multiverse.
His plan to see if he could reactivate his connected Gate had fallen through thanks to the "request" of the Asrai hiding inside of Josah. He'd have to find it again if he wanted to lock it, as well. He hadn't thought of that before, and anyone could get through it now that it was activated. Which could mean problems for this entire world, let alone him...

"Hm. Well, we could always wander around and hope no one kills us..." Josah noted, scratching his chin.
"Or, you know, we could always see if we can find a hotel or something. One that is, hopefully, not haunted."

Yami raised an eyebrow, "What kind of Earth do you come from? The one I know isn't a place where you have to worry about being killed in broad daylight. Bazaroth, sure, but not Earth. However, its likely the city has a hotel,"
As Yami said this the group had stepped out of the alley. He looked down at the dried blood in his hands, mentally telling himself he'd have to take care of that later. He'd actually done a remarkable job cleaning up over the attack earlier. What little remained could be blamed at him having gotten into a fight. He did still have scratches and cuts all over, although if Josah had been paying attention they were less severe than before.
He glanced around towards the businesses that were just opening. He turned back towards Josah, "I'm known for intimidating people, it might be better if you asked for directions," he stated.

"Well, that's understandable. You're wearing shades and have your hood over your head, dude. You look like a burglar." Josah responded.
"Hm, lessee, lessee... which of these places look like they'd have a map... ooh, that furniture store has one on the display." He thought to himself, not realizing what a grave, grave mistake he was making.
He walked towards the front door, pretty much just assuming Yami was behind him. He saw a man, tapping nervously at his keyboard. The website he was on, as should be noted, was a travel site. Josah knocked, startling the man.
"Hey! My friend and I need directions!" He yelled.

"Better a burglar than the other option," Yami replied to Josah, not really caring if the teen heard him or not. He followed him into the store, hanging out near the entrance. The man looked up, glancing nervously at Yami's attire before pointing towards the map display and going back to his work.
It was his wife that had the significant spiritual sense, and Yami's aura was pretty muted at the moment. Its not like the millenia old kitsune or the klutzy high schooler her mentioned said kitsune's party. It was more than likely to fall under the radar.

"Oh hey. The city DOES have a Hotel. Wicked awesome hotel party, anyone?" Josah noted, squinting as he walked in the direction of the display.
"They also seem to have a park. And an apartment complex. And pretty much everything you'd expect in a city. Hotel's back that way."

Yami nodded but paused for a moment. He looked around and shook his head before heading out the door, choosing to wait for Josah outside. The reaction probably confused Josah, but he didn't want to bring the subject up around normal humans.
"I'll wait outside for you to pay," he said as he exited the door. It hadn't occured to him that Josah might no have any money on him. They were pretty out of luck if that was the case. Any money that Yami hadn't had would have been burned up with his jeans.

"Er, okay..." Josah responded. Yami's reaction was unexpected, at the very least. And did he just assume that the boy had money? Fortunately, he actually did.
"How much would that be?" He asked the man. He gestured towards a sign.
"Fifty cents? To view a MAP? That's high-way robbery! I refuse!" Josah raged for a moment before tossing the owner a couple of quarters.
"Fine. But don't expect me to be happy about it." He 'hmph'ed, before heading outside.

(OOC: Not that she's running around active, but Valrya would know what Yami noticed. Traces of demonic energy. ) Yami noticed the look in the boy's face as he headed outside. He had to learn to hide when he noticed things better. He walked forward a bit so he was out of earshot of the shop-owner. He's noticed said owner pale when one of the results of his search came up with a gimmicky "haunted hotel". It was a logical jump to assume the reason when he'd felt the energy. "There's been at least one demon there, recently. Active, not disguised," Yami responded to the unasked question. He had mostly assumed the active part based on the owner, but if that energy had been a disguised demon... he didn't want to think about that.
