He was still walking, jovially, a bright smile adorning his face. Anyone who looked closely would notice that one of his eyes was grey, whereas the other was blue. Anyone who could sense auras could tell he almost felt as if he were repressing something. Almost. His name was Josah. And he was about to witness something he would never forget ever.
"Pretty sure there are a few mom and pop stores around here. Probably have a few snacks or something."

Yamiyo turned to Josah and shook his head, "Too crowded. There," he pointed towards an alleyway, "I'll say this again. You, at least as you are now, are only human. If you follow me and your brain breaks, I won't be held responsible. And if the other you can hear me, I've warned him so don't you dare freak on me."
Yami was now treating the surface Josah and the presence he felt earlier as two seperate entities. He'd noticed Josah's eyes finally, but he took it merely as an indication the presence mostly sealed inside of him was trying to express itself. Hence the warning, really.
Without waiting for a response from the teen he turned and headed into the alley. He fully believed that it was not his fault if the boy snapped. He'd given him fair warning.

Josah was, to say the last, confused. 'the other you'? What the hell was he talking about? He chose to disregard it as Yamiyo being, as he so bluntly thought it, 'straight loco'. He proceeded to follow him into the alleyway.
Of course, bad idea was bad.

Yamiyo kept his human form. Quite frankly it was saner than spending the energy to shift. It wasn't obvious with how often he was known to do it, but it did require energy to shift forms. And he was more than capable of accomplishing his goal in this form. The sun had risen more during this time, and it qualified as early morning now because of it.
Honestly, Yami would have preferred to do this under the cloak of darkness. Perhaps because of that he was going deeper into the alley system of Void City than he otherwise would have. As it was, he had a noisy companion and would have to act quickly. He saw some middle-aged homeless woman cleaning "house" and launched at her. Josah would feel the dark energy practically explode in the second it took him to reach the woman...

He did indeed feel the dark energy practically explode at him. It didn't awaken the other Josah, however. He was choosing to lie dormant for the time being. However, if it came up, he would leap out, and he was completely ready for a fight for the ages. Needed to train for Hi'ar, anyway.
"...wha?"

(OOC: All that's important here is the woman dies. I'm going all out descriptive here, and not pulling back. This is the kind of scene that would earn an otherwise innocent move an NC-17 rating. If you have a weak stomach or are opposed to graphic violent imagery and blood, turn away now.)
The woman barely had time to get wide eyes before she was slammed against the side of the building that her shelter was in. Yami punched foward towards her stomach, knowing it was one of the easiest places to inflict a serious wound. His fingernails, while not very long, were just long enough to provide a cutting tool. To put it simply, he stabbed into her stomach.
He made a fist inside, the blood squirting from her mouth and causing her attempts at a scream to sound more like gargling. He yanked outwards, making quite the mess as her intestines were more than a little visible. However, and perhaps quite cruelly, the woman still clung to life.
He squeezed the grip he had around her neck with the other hand and twisted with such force the spine cricked and was visible as her head sagged in the most unnatural way possible. Yami went down to the ground with the finally dead woman and his normally accented fangs looked rather vampiric. The fact was, while he was in human form, his paternal side reveled in this action.
The next part probably caused Josah to turn away, or even get sick. as he took the intestines he had pulled out and proceeded to eat them. It was probably a good thing the tapestry he had been "given" by the demon at the castle was crimson red. He was a bloody mess right now. His dark aura was larger than during the entire time he'd been on the island. Quite frankly, it was impossible to know he wasn't full demon at this point.
And despite his interest in what he was doing, he was aware of Josah. However, he was in predator mode and would not react well to any attempts at seperating him from his prey. At all.

Josah felt himself growing very, very sick. He almost felt like he was going to vomit... when his left eye changed. He wasn't yet giving off a hefty amount of energy. His other self had enough sense to contain it for the time being. No, the poor woman was already dead, there was nothing he could do for her. But he COULD wait until Yami was finished and ring his neck.
Yes. That was the plan.

And it didn't take long. It seemed the "half" demon was more concerned with the innards than the shell. His dark aura was still flaring rather heavily, although it had gone down a few notches. He was aware the other presence had surfaced and knew there was a chance he was going to die here. He stood up, still covered in blood and turned towards Josah. His eyes had a dull gleam to them, rather comparible to Josah's current gaze. It was just at the opposite end of the dark/light spectrum. He stood there, dripping, and spoke.
"If you're going to kill me, hurry up and do so," he stated. He'd fight back, sure, but something told him the chances of winning were slim.

"I don't want to kill you. It's unbecoming of me. But I will warn you. I'm going to allow you to keep up with your cavorting, and your murder, because I wasn't assigned here to deal with a carnivorous little whelp. But in that same vein, you must allow the child to stay with you. He's foolish, yes. But he needs to reach a perfect balance of dark energy and light energy before I can remain fully on the surface. And if you don't, well, I could always kill you. Slowly, and painfully. It will involve starving you for days. I may even find a way to force you back into that 'program' The Elders spoke of." Josah retorted, growling.
And THEN he chose to flare his energy, to punctuate his point.
"I could snap you like a twig if I felt like it. I could keep you in suspended animation for years, having to deal with the excruciating pain. But I won't. Because I honestly don't think the waste of my energy is worth it."

Yami's reaction wasn't fear. It was acceptance. Everything the Asrai had stated was fact, he could tell it clearly. And while the motives were harder to read than from a human, he could tell the entity would find it midly painful to do what it had promised, but it would do so. However, he didn't avert his gaze the entire time, and it was clear he was hearing every word to its fullest meaning.
It might have qualified as impressive, or perhaps damn stupid that Yamiyo didn't flinch as the holy energy flared. It was clear that Yami's paternal side was taking this in more than his maternal one. It wasn't the split Josah had going on, but it was more a matter of conflicted genes. If the other Josah had known Yami's mother, it might have understood better. She had become part of the program as part of a "sale" to save one she cared for deeply. Yami waited for the spirit to finish.
"I won't change my nature for him," he stated, but the aura, stance, and even flat way he stated it showed that he had agreed to what the entity had proposed. He looked down and wiped a bit of innard off his hand onto the robe, expecting the dominant Josah to be there when he looked up again.
In fact, in the world of animals he had broken his gaze. The other Josah had effectively won the staring contest and exerted dominance in the situation.

And assert his dominance he did. By the time Yami looked up, he had a pair of glowing fingers pointed towards him. The glow was an unearthly orange, and it was obvious that Other Josah was focusing quite a bit of energy into those two fingers. He paused for a moment, stare dead.
"Do remember that I will hold you to this agreement. And try not to die on the field, would you? I'd rather not have my cloak bloodied when I drag the boy's soul into the deepest pits of our mind." Other Josah stated, flatly, before becoming the lesser personality again. The glow disappeared, and along with it, the energy.
The first thing Josah did upon his dominance was glance at Yami. He then proceeded to look for a good place to vomit. Sickening image was still burned into his mind.

Yami turned around and walked to the side of the dumpster, thankful it was too high for Josah to effectively vomit into. He carefully climbed into said dumpster and began digging around. The cloak he had on was a complete mess in the most graphicly grotesque sense of the word. He wasn't "afraid" of the other Josah, it was more a matter of the knowledge it would do everything it had threatened and more.
A few things got tossed out of the dumpster to a place where there was neither dead body or vomit. A worn pair of jeans, a white shirt with a few small holes and grease stains, a badly ripped leather jacket with a hood, and a pair of cheap sunglasses in remarkably good condition. He climbed out of the trashcan and pulled off the cloak, using it to wipe off as much of the blood and entrails as he could manage.
He wasn't even paying real attention to Josah, only keeping in mind where the boy was located. He would answer any questions asked to the best of his ability, but he somehow suspected the boy would have trouble finding words. Aside from the Asrai inside of him, he pretty much seemed a normal human.

He'd found a nice corner to collapse in and vomit. His body shook a few times, and it was rather obvious what he was doing. He finally got to a point where he could stand up again, hands on the wall. He didn't... he wanted to know exactly what had happened. It wasn't so much his response to the eating that disturbed him, as... for a few seconds, everything had gone black.
"What... where... what happened after I stopped talking? I don't... everything went black." He gasped out, seemingly rather exhausted. The change had had adverse effects upon him. Very adverse effects.

Yami dropped the cloth and began getting dressed, pulling the jeans on first. He didn't look at Josah as he talked, and his voice was rather flat. Not really dark, but more matter-of-fact. He wanted no misinterpertations about what he was saying being true.
"You've got another presence inside of you. From his aura, I'd say he's what you humans call an angel. He took over, and we talked," he had gotten the jeans on and had to pause to pull the shirt over his head, "In any case, either you're coming with me or I'm going with you from now on. I will be following you if you try to go without me. The reasons why are unimportant and would likely break your brain more than this already has."
He had gotten the jacket on an flipped up the hood. He turned around as he put on the sunglasses. It was apparent now why he had the jacket and shades. It hid his ears and his eyes, respectively. Now he was merely waiting for Josah's response.

Josah paused for a moment. He looked rather... shocked, to say the least. Disturbed, even. However, it wasn't as if Yami was giving him much of a choice, so...
"Alright. We'll... we'll travel together. Where would you suggest we head next?" Right. He'd managed to completely sidestep the whole 'you have another presence inside of you' comment. Because in truth, something inside of him was keeping him from focusing. It had him off of his game. It was... almost... taunting him.
It was, perhaps, the reason he hadn't been able to read his book for so long. But now... what... what did this mean? Was he... was he losing himself? Was the darkness around him closing in?
One thing was certain, at least. It was darker today than it had ever been. No sun would shine inside the mentality of Josah Hosaj.
