The position Yami had placed himself in to clamp his hand around Josah's throat meant he couldn't dodge the blasts from the teen's eyes. In fact, all he was really able to do was react as the energy surged and jerk the clamped hand down. It meant he didn't get the attack in his own face. It impacted just below his neck, roughly in line with his collar bone. And it hurt like hell. Not that he hadn't experienced pain far worse. It had just been unexpected.
He launched backwards and up, allowing his wings to take him above the energy skeletons. Josah seemed to be manipulating the very air around the area. Yami shot higher into the air. He needed to get high enough that he could use his favored attack without the skeletons being able to grab at him. As such he flared his wings and stopped about twenty feet in the air. Even if they could jump, it was probably unlikely they'd reach him.
However, it was entirely possible this was the point his lack of attention to training would bite him in the ass. There is no doubt Josah would feel a huge surge in his aura or realize that the energy was being focused on a shape. And if he had knowledge of the occult, he'd realize the forming shape was that of an upside down pentagram... a traditional occult symbol often used to indicate darkness... and the energy itself was very evil... if he could see the aura, it almost seemed the shape was being drawn in blood.
(OOC: I feel the need to point out pentagrams aren't evil. But Yamiyo is an anime based character, and I chose to follow cliche rahter than fact /end Pagan public service announcement)

Josah indeed noticed the surge of energy. And that it was being focused on a pentagram. It was at this point that he began attempts to manipulate skyward birds. He'd be drained after this, but if all went well, he could go dormant for a while.
He found a few, and ravens began to head in Yamiyo's direction.

Yami felt the surge of Josah's energy. He didn't know if he had the energy to move with the attack, but the ravens were far enough away. Even though some of them seemed to be moving awfully fast. He quickly traced a circle around the pentacle he had drawn.
"HERALD OF THE APOCALYPSE!" he shouted, and suddenly the energy shape burst into flame.
Not just any flame, mind you. It looked similar to the rings animals are sometimes trained to jump through, but even those without magical abilities would realize it looked like burning blood. Yamiyo quickly flicked his right hand and suddenly about twelve mid-sized shards of what looked like glass blood shot directly towards Josah.
He would have trouble dodging them all. They were ablaze with the same flame as the pentagram and were like jagged razors. They'd leave an jagged cut that felt like it was on fire if they hit. The pentagram would last a few seconds after the final impacted with something. And while the firey feeling would go with the pentagram, the would would not...
Because he'd forced himself to take the time to finish the attack, however, several ravens had gotten to him. They began to swarm him, and he seemed to be having trouble fighting them off. Thing was, his attack used a crapload of energy and he was incredibly weak as a result... he seemed to be losing the fight against the attacking birds.

Fact was, most of them hit. Other Josah was too busy controlling ravens to dodge. It burned. Dear LORD it burned. In fact, he'd come very close to being decapitated before he decided that surviving was more important than controlling birds. They let up on their attacks in that mere nanosecond before he regained control.
He'd have a scar on his arms. That much he knew. Even when he took over the shared body, the scars would remain. Sear marks. -- "It's dark... I know it's dark. But... how do I know it's dark? I know it's dark because I can't see. But how do I know I'm not dead? I can't feel anything. Anything at all. Do I even exist? What is it to exist? Who am I? What am I? Where am I?
I remember... Yami was there... and I was there. And then I was here. But... how am I here? What IS here? And why the HELL did I miss 'party of the century' for this?
I can feel again... I can see again. Pain. That's the only thing I feel for a brief moment. I see flashes of colors, I see birds. And then I'm gone. Thrust here again.
I hear a voice call out to me. It sounds feminine. She's urging me to move. Heh. Dare You To Move is a good son-no. Focus, Josah, FOCUS.
I remember the last thing I ever spoke of with my parents. They were angry at me, for shirking my homework. Maybe I should finish it...
I don't remember. I don't know. I don't...
Exist."

It could have been a double knock out had Josah continued with the birds. As it was, Yami was coming down from the sky in little more than a controlled fall. Kind of like if a parachute got wrapped around a person. There was resistance and it could be loosely guided, but the impact would still hospitalize. At least a normal human. The pentagram mark had burned away by the time he actually began his descent.
With the "surface" Josah just now waking up, he may or may not have enough awareness to realize this. But Yami impacted the ground. Hard. He didn't shift forms. He was in his true form, it was the only reason why. The wings looked like they'd suffered the most damage. The other Josah had enough sense to target them, the things keeping the half-demon in the air. Yami wasn't moving, actually. He was facing away from Josah, so the teen wouldn't be able to see his eyes were closed.
The aura was still there. He was still alive. And had he not been exhausted from fleeing Bazaroth and earlier encounters, he probably would have been perfectly fine. But the exhaustion had caught up with him. He wa salive, he was breathing... but he wasn't conscious. And if Josah didn't have the sense to check his pulse or anything of the sort, one could pass the charcoal skinned humanoid off as dead.

Surface Josah whipped his head a bit. He'd just come 'back' into existence, so it was a lot to take in. There was Yamiyo, unconscious on the ground. And there were the two second degree burns upon his arms. Any normal person would've panicked. But Josah wasn't normal.
"You know, if I wanted to see a dead demon guy, or if I wanted to be lit on fire, I'd have just gone to Sally's party. I mean, really." Josah facepalmed. And then realization hit him.
"Wait... dead demon guy... OHCRAPYAMIYO'SDEADOCRAPPANIIIIC!" NOW was freak-out time. He quickly dashed over to the demon, doing the first thing to come into his mind.
This involved getting Yamiyo into a suitable position(quite hard, all things considered. He caused a bit more damage to the demon's already damaged wings) and punching him in the chest.
"BREATHE, DARN YOU!"

Well... it woke Yami up... and earned a hand around the poor teen's throat. At the rate these encounters were going, he was gonna need neck surgery. But that wasn't the worst. Yamiyo also coughed. Coughed up blood. Onto Josah's shirt, and a little sprayed onto the poor teen's face. And onto his glasses. Not fun.
However, he didn't have the strength to keep the grip around the teen's neck, and his arm fell to the side. His face was contorted in pain. The last time he'd hurt this much was during training. Well, during a session he'd told the teacher where he could shove his suggestion. He drew in a ragged breath, coughing again. A bit more of his darker than human average blood came up, but at least it didn't land on Josah. He forced his head to the side so he could spit it out, but some of it dribbled down his chin.
"J-Just kill me..." he muttered. He'd end up somewhere else after bursting into flames and a month had passed. With his luck, probably that Belphegor demon's place. He didn't even realize he was dealing with the surface Josah. He was in too much pain to be that coherent.
Although he remembered the threats... he doubted he'd be lucky enough to die. He closed his eyes again. The other Josah had promised torture...

"Way to mess up the glasses there, Yami. Nice. No, really. Nice. I don't think I have a rag on me at the moment." Josah grumbled, slipping his eye wear into his pocket. And then Yamiyo went all 'just kill me' on him.
"What're you talking about, dude? Sure, you messed my glasses up... and my shirt, but otherwise, I see no reason to go all 'keel all guys named Yamiyo' on you." Josah responded.

Only about half of Josah's statements got through to Yami. He was skirting the edge of unconsciousness, and it was possible a few seconds had spent unconscious. That softer voice, that concern... he would have darkly smirked had he possessed the energy. It meant his punishment would be delayed until the sealed Josah surfaced again.
He drew in a jagged breath, wincing as he did so. He probably had broken ribs from how much that had hurt, "It's... no-nothing. I can't move."
That was technically a lie. He probably could force himself up. Away from the shop, whose owner was just coming to. But the hassle wasn't worth it, especially with the torture he knew was coming. He forced his head to turn, "Ru-ru-ru...." He couldn't get his thoughts out before he passed out again.
He'd wanted to tell Josah to run. Maybe if he got away the other Josah wouldn't drag him down to "hell". The female demons would use him as a plaything, despite his age. And it was entirely possible they'd attempt to use the human child to force him to train. Yami's breathing was ragged, but he appeared to be alive despite being out. One thing was sure. If he was human, he'd be dead.

"I don't know who this 'Ru' fellow is, but if he knows how to heal or something, just point me to the direction his house is. Hey, maybe the shop owner knows the location of a good hospital. Unless, you know, he's dialin' the cops or something. In which case you being all... passed out and demonic might mean we should run. I think I might be able to carry you. Find you a place to rest while I look for a healer or hospital or something." Josah continued on. He cast all thought of HIS impending doom aside to try to think of some way to help Yami.
"Personally, I think the woods would be a bad idea... there are quite a few destroyed buildings up that way, though. Don't think anyone'd check there for an injured demon. What d'you think?"

The half-demon made no response. He was out cold. The shop owner peeked up from behind his counter. If high blood pressure could kill, he wondered why he was still alive. He ducked back down and groped under his counter until he found a button. He hadn't had the chance to use it before now. It was a panic button. A silent alarm had totally just been triggered.
Demons may have not been all that abnormal on the island. But damn had somone put some kind of summoning beacon on his shop lately? First that kyuubi, then that crazed teenager, and now some kid with serious personality issues and a demon. He was considering screwing arrangements and just running the hell away from there. After the demon left. Yeah, he didn't want to pass those two. He stayed huddled behind the counter.

Well. Things had certainly gone from bad to worse. He didn't notice the shop owner press the button, but he did notice that Yami was out cold. Great. Just GREAT. How was he supposed to get away from this area before the demon died or the police/heroes arrived? It wasn't like he could FLY or... anything...
An epic facepalm followed. Because, you know. He could fly and such.
"RIGHT. TIME FOR PLAN 'RUN AWAY LIKE A STEREOTYPICAL LITTLE GIRL'." Josah said aloud, to no one in particular. As the only person that could have even possibly heard him was unconscious.
He mumbled the flight spell after struggling to get the half-demon onto his right shoulder. The two left the ground, and Josah began moving, with a bit of difficulty, towards the destroyed buildings. One of them seemed to be standing juuuust enough to hide Yami inside.

Part of the reason Josah was having problems was Yami was at this point a dead weight. Not dead, but too unconscious to provide support. Conscious folks were easier to lug around than unconscious or dead ones. It was a good thing the building was near, it was unlikely Josah could have managed much further.
The half-demon was still unconscious as they landed. He would provide no resistance to being pushed to an area he couldn't be seen. Unless something was done, he'd probably be out for a few hours. He wasn't in good condition, by any means, but at least he was stable.

After setting Yami down, Josah himself collapsed in a heap. It wasn't so much from exhaustion, but from the fact that too many things were happening around him since he'd been revived. Spinning completely out of control, as they say. It was a few hours before he stirred again, and when he arose, the sun was setting. The day had passed, and with it, the danger. Perhaps. He could not, however, forget that there was still something lurking inside of him.
It didn't matter. It was still there. Waiting. And it wasn't something he could just put away, like hair, either. At the very least, he decided he'd see if the half-demon he was traveling with was okay. Or, rather, stable enough for more travel. This wasn't exactly a place Josah wanted to spend the night.
"Yo, Yamiyo. You alive, bro?" He called out, yawning, stretching.

Yami was, in fact, awake. But he gave no indication as such. It was a long shot. It was such an incredible longshot given his aura. And depending on how much that "Valrya" the Other Josah had mentioned knew, it was possible she would know that a demon wouldn't just... leave a body when they died. But he remained quiet on the chance that Josah would call him dead and move on. He was still extremely sore, and if it came to another fight he'd be screwed. The Other Josah had promised to send the surface Josah back to Bazaroth with him. Necromancer... possibly the type that could trap a demon as well.
Long story short, the teenager was getting no reaction from the half-demon.
