Alex smiled at the sight, looking relieved. "Phew.... I have to say Pieter, I was getting really worried about you for a second there."
"PIE GUY!!!!"
Pieter could barely get his breath back before Tao GLOMPED HIM HARD. "Meow meow!! Tao was so worried meow!! You wouldn't wake up no matter how much Tao tried shaking you meow! Please don't scare Tao like that again Mew!"
Twilight couldn't help but smile at Tao's cuteness, she was already in tears from having her older brother being discorded, and she was about to break out crying again from losing Pieter too. "Sniff... I agree with Tao... I was starting to think we lost you back there..." She looks to him curiously. "But... What I don't understand is.... How are you back?"

"Ghhk!" The revived mage yelped as he was tackled by the catgirl. "Nnhkkkh! L-Leggo... please... t-tight..."
He shook his head slightly. "Nnhh... G-God Tier power... Guess that death wasn't Heroic or Just enough, is my guess, seeing as that Discord was barely affected by that burst of power." He stretched a bit as best he could. "Is he gone, at least? Are you all okay?"
Shining blinked a few times, his color only semi-faded. He looked like he'd seen a ghost... which wasn't too far from the truth.

Alex went over to Tao and helped separate her from Pieter, chuckling. "Okay Tao, okay, let's give Pie guy some space so he can catch his breath okay?" Tao gave him a miserable pout before complying. "Anyway, Sorry Pieter, I gave it my best shot, but most of my attacks didn't do that much either. I landed a few hits by surprising him, but he ran off before either of us could do serious damage." There was a loud groan at this. "I think he was just playing with me though."
This caught Tao's attention as she turned to Alex giving him a saddened look. "Don't talk that way Shadow Guy! Tao thought you were awesome meow! You really showed Scary Horsy who was boss mew meow!" She smiled a bit as she hugged him tightly. "Tao wants to be just as cool as you and Pie Guy someday meow!"
"No kidding." Twilight looked to Shining, noticing that his reaction to Pieter's explanation was not very different from hers. "But past that point, let me see if I have this straight. You two can't die? What are you? Immortals?"
There was a light grin on Alex's face. "God-Tier's actually. We can still die, we just can't die that easily."

Pieter chuckled softly. "We're stronger than average humans... and yes, we can die. If a death is considered sufficiently 'heroic' or 'just', then we stay dead. If not, we come back like I did just a while ago."
He nodded slightly. "Hey... Shining, you feeling alright?"
The white unicorn sat down. "...Dunno. I feel... weird..."

Alex looked him over a moment, taking in his energy fluxes and flows as he did and taking in every detail he could. "... You're just affected by the whole experience with Discord." He looks to Twilight. "What do you think Twi? That memory spell should work right?"
The Unicorn shook her head. "... It's not that simple. Not this time at least. Discord didn't magically alter Shining's memories or personality, no, what he did here was remind us all of that.... Horrible incident, and instilled on Shining his way of seeing it..." She looks to her brother. "The Memory spell would be otherwise ineffective..."
"Then what can we do?"
Twilight walked up and nuzzled Shining, pulling him into a hug. "The only thing we can do for now... Listen Shining... You are not a monster okay? Wh-.... What happened back at the mall? You did that to protect me." She couldn't pretend that she wasn't frightened by what her BBBFF was capable of... But wasn't that the case for all magic really? "Please... Please stop being so tough on yourself? We're all right here, ready to support you..."
Tao, surprisingly, caught onto what Twilight was doing. "Y-Yeah! Tao will always be here ta play with you Shiny Pony! All ya gotta do is ask Tao! Okay meow?" She smiled as she got down on all fours. "In fact; Can we play a game now Shiny Pony? Pretty pretty please Reeeeow?" She had the most adorable face imaginable as she gave Shining her best Puppy Dog eyes.

Shining closed his eyes slightly, a single tear dripping from them as he hugged Twilight back. "Mmhh... thanks, little sis... thank you." He held the hug for a bit, before chuckling and smiling at the little catgirl. "Sure thing, Tao. What do you wanna do?"
Pieter chuckled lightly. "I think he'll be just fine..." He put a hand on Aaron's shoulder, smiling. "Still, though... I can't deny that Discord had a point about me. I have a lot of power but not a lot of experience; I need to get better still. Next time..." He grinned. "Next time, I'll beat him for sure."

"In your defense dude, I personally think you had him on the ropes a few times in there. Plus you still TOTALLY kicked out one of his teeth." Said the Thief of Void with a grin. You sit down as you watch Shining play Tag with Tao. "Still, the plot certainly thickens... Looks like we'll be having some more things to worry about around the island...."

He watched the two play for a bit. "And yeah... just like old times, no?"

............. "Yeah...." He chuckled humorlessly. "I guess we can just consider ourselves lucky that we don't have to deal with Denizens or a Black King huh?" He groans as he leans back. "Still.... I was kinda hoping I was done with all of this nonsense. Sure meeting Twilight and the ponies are great, and so is finding Tao, but I also have Rulett to consider, you know?"

"You couldn't pay me enough to fight Yaldabaoth again. Even with my God-Tier powers..." He shook his head slightly at the memory, then nodded slightly. "I suppose that's fair. I haven't heard a peep from my 'stalker troll' since we won the game, though... What was his name again? Aquila? Something like that."
Pieter sat Indian-style, hovering in the air. "I must admit, venturing with you has made me realize how much I'd missed it."

Alex stuck his tongue out, groaning. "Goodie goodie for you." He shrugged. "Still... I guess if there's still trouble floating around, I don't have much other choice but to do something about it. If we don't, who will, ya know?"
Stretching a bit, Alex pulls out his one of his staves. "Sides..." He smiled as he looked to Tao and Shining, Twilight was nearby watching all of it go down with her own cute smile. "Some's gotta look after these innocent little kids."

"I actually liked Aquila, thank you very much. He was pretty nice." Pieter stuck his tongue out right back, then chuckled. He spun a trumpet mute on his fingertip, nodding . "O'course. Might as well be us, no?" Pieter chuckled. "Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by Shining; he's really sweet."
Shining giggled as he pounced the little catgirl.

"Hey!! Shiny pony! Hahahahhamew!" The two laughed some more as Shining regained some more of his color from his Discorded form. It was quite the sight really. "Hey Shadow Guy! Come play with us neow!"
Alex smiled at the scene. "Sure... Buuut... How about we wait till later?" He stood up having said that. "Come on guys. How about we head on home?"
There was a nod from Twilight as she trotted up, "Music to my ears..." She magicked up some books and put them in a bag. "Sides, I think I have everything I'm going to need for the time being for magic study."

Pieter smiled. "Alright, that sounds like a good idea. I'll go on ahead and get some stuff warmed up. Hot chocolate and apple cider sound good to anyone?"
Shining nodded, his color returning to normal completely. "That sounds... really really good after today." He chuckled lightly.
"Alright then." Pieter smiled a little further. "I'll jump on ahead. See you in a few!" He flickered slightly before vanishing, having taken off at incredible speed; he decided not to just warp for the sake of getting a little exercise.

Hehehehe... Well, you supposed you should give him a bit of a headstart. It only made sense so that he could get all of his preparations done.
Plus you could only imagine the bash Pinkie Pie was going to throw for their new little friend Taokaka.
"Okay everyone, we leave here in five minutes. Twilight, Shining, make sure you have everything you need. Tao, are you forgetting anything here in town?"
"Mmmm.... Tao doesn't think so mew!"

"Mmmm... But Tao IS hungry meow! Really really hungry! When are we gonna eat Shadow Guy, Tao hopes it's sometime soon meow! You don't wanna see Tao when she's hungry!"
You can't help but laugh at this.
