"WHOOO!!! PARTY TIME!~" called a blonde as she jumped into the sand. A male trailing behind her rolled his eyes.
"You are insane Miss Long," he replied flatly. "And besides you're to young to actually drink."
"Says the violist vampire," the blonde replied quickly as she started to set up a fire pit and her things.
"You said my music was good."
"YEah for a funeral."
The male rolled his eyes. "It's been used for that, but a different instrument," he replied as he took a pale gray shirt off showing a thin form littered with scars and a noticablely larger blue tattoo on his back. The blond, Miss Long as he had called her, raised an eyebrow. "I have a few of them. Take a picture it will last longer Yang."
There was the click of a camera as Yang did as told. The male got the towels and food set out along with a simple hard case for his instrument.

"PARTY PARTY PARTY! I WANNA HAVE A PARTY! I NEED TO HAVE A PARTY! YOU BETTER HAVE A PARTY!"
This was the anthem that proceeded the Trio of Three, provided loudly and proudly by an ever-enthused Cat. The coyote-weasel-robin anthro charged into the open like a sugar high monkey on speed, dressed only in her red one-piece (there was no way in the Doom Pits that anyone would get her in a bikini, given her chubby physique) and her zebra-striped beach towel, the latter tied around her neck and trailing behind her like a cape.
Mickey followed close behind, looking no less excited. Despite being forced to run due to the sunlight inhibiting his powers, when the vampire raccoon anthro had caught wind of a beach party, he was all up on that business without a second thought. Thus, decked out in his navy blue trunks, aviator sunglasses, and his usual charm (or lack thereof), he was well ready to begin his pursuit of sexy girls in bikinis.
"BANZAI!!!" Once she reached the shore, Cat over-dramatically threw off her towel cape and plunged into the lake. Her dive resulted in a comical splat as she found herself belly flopping into a shallow spot, face-down in wet sand and three inches of water. "Ow."
In an equally bombastic entrance, Mickey skidded to a halt -kicking up sand in the process- between the first two people he saw, who just so happened to be the blonde and her companion. "Someone asked for a party?! Well, here it is!"
Cat lifted her head up, spitting out mud and a seashell before yelling, "RIO! HURRY IT UP WITH THE PPP 3.0!!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming! Yeesh!"
Compared to his companions, Rio was being a bit of a slowpoke. Partially due to his less enthusiastic demeanor, but mostly due to being relegated to the team's designated pack mule. The mage trudged step by aching step onto the beach, weighed down by three bags, an umbrella, a cooler, and a flat, metal disk. Already, he was a sweaty mess, made noticeable by his conspicuous shirtlessness, as he was wearing little more than green trunks, tan sandals, a rolled-up towel around his neck and, of course, his golden necklace.
Once he spotted Mickey, Rio hastily joined him and dropped their gear, claiming the spot next to Yang and her friend. With the weight finally off his shoulders, he stretched his arms and let out a loud sigh of relief. "Ohhhhhh... Oh, it's been too long since I've had to carry that kind of luggage..." Then, remembering his manners, he smiled and nodded to the duo. "Good e'en. Mickey, give them some space."

Yang snickered. "Hey Mickey! Hey Cat!" she called. "Been a while you two!"
Her compainion just rolled his eyes. "You guys are more than welcome to join us. I'm Todd by the way," he offered as he turned to a cooler they had brought.

"Good to see you again, m'lady," Mickey greeted Yang in a suave manner. "Might I say, you look quite lovely on this fine day."
"Oh, brother." Cat shook off what little water she had been wading in and walked up to Yang, Todd and her friends. "Hey, Yang! Hope you don't mind if I mix things up a little bit," Cat offered slyly as she grabbed the metal disk that Rio had been carrying. "I've been wanting to do a test run anyway."

"Pleasure to meet you," Rio politely greeted Todd. He then got to work on setting up the Trio of Three's spot, smirking as Cat retrieved her latest invention. "Here's to hoping this one doesn't turn out like the 2.0."
All the while, a little ways down the beach, a blue, demonic-looking man dropped his gear and smiled at the horizon. "Wow... This is beautiful." He turned and spotted the people already there. "This oughta be fun!"

"The 2.0?" Yang asked as Todd nodded. "What happened to the 1.0 through 1.9?"
"Yang.... do you think at all how stupid you sound?" Todd asked before dodging a shot. "I didn't touch your hair so chill it before I dump the cooler on you."
"Forgive my room mate. He's not that bright," Yang offered to the trio. Todd started to head for the water's edge.

"Hahahaha shut up!" Cat barked at Rio. "Sure, the first version set the ocean on fire and the second one may or may not have caused serious injury, but this is the surefire model!" As if to prove her point, Cat turned and marched towards the water, the PPP 3.0 in hand.
Mickey smiled at her back as he swiped a stiff drink from Yang and Todd's cooler. "Disclaimer: The PPP 2.0 itself did not cause injury. Cat Cackowski's Pool Party Pack is not suitable for people with heart conditions, pregnant women, or insane anthropomorphic websites."
Cat swam away from the shore until she was well past the shallow end of the lake. Once there, she set the metal disk down flat on the water's surface, turned the knob in the center until it clicked, and pressed the button that was subsequently revealed. This caused a metal pole that couldn't have possibly fit inside the disk to shoot out of the bottom and root itself on the lake's floor. Then began the beeping of a countdown, which Cat responded to appropriately:
"OUTTA THE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!" She frantically swam away from the beeping disk, even going so far as to flap her miniscule wings in a sad attempt at speeding up. This probably wasn't needed, seeing as how the countdown lasted for a solid minute.
When that minute was up, the disk rapidly expanded. Then, out of its surface, shot a diving board, three water slides, a fountain, and a cord, the end of which held a floating trampoline that was instantly inflated.
From a safe distance, Cat floated on her back and grinned smugly at her good work. "I'm a genius."

Rio finished pitching the umbrella and laying out his towel in time to watch the PPP 3.0 unfold. He was of course impressed with Cat's latest invention, even if he was once again baffled by how she pulled this one off on her own with so little resources, but he had to stay on edge. Someone had to ensure that nothing went wrong on that thing. Murphy's Law had never been a friend of the Trio of Three.
Paul, on the other hand, was utterly mind-blown by the sight of the rising pool rides. "That is so COOL...!" Right off the bat, he was racing for the water, anxious to be the first one on.

Yang raised an eyebrow as she watched a blue dude swim out.
"Say anyone thirsty?" Todd asked as he fished a Dew out of a cooler.

"I'm good," Mickey replied, sipping his acquired beer before sitting down in the shade of the umbrella. "And now we wait."
"Alright! Let's try this bad boy out!" Cat gleefully swam back over to her little island of metal and fun. As she began her climb up the ladder of one of the three twisting slides, she looked down in time to see Paul climb on board as well. "Hi, blue guy!"

"Ah, we brought drinks too. Thanks, though," Rio courteously replied to Todd's offer, pulling a bottle of water out of his cooler. "Didn't bring any food other than some chips, though. Was there going to be a bonfire?"
"Hi, anthro girl!" Paul responded as he climbed up to the next slide over. "This is quite the playground you have here! You gotta tell me how this was made possible after I beat ya to the water! GERONIMO!" Then, as soon as he reached the top, he began his wild ride down the slide.

"I have hot dogs and marshmallows for the bonfire that Yang was supposed to start," Todd answered as he sat on the cooler.
Yang shot a glare before doing as she said she would and lighting a fire. "There you go, cranky," she replied before heading towards the water.
"Sorry for my roommate's behavior," Todd apologized to Rio.

"Nice..." Mickey nodded. "So! Up to anything lately?"
"Hey, no fair!" By the time Paul started sliding down, Cat was only halfway to the top of her ladder. She hastily scrambled the rest of the way up and flopped onto the slide head first, shooting down it like a penguin and laughing like a hyena. At the bottom, she was flung off the slide and into the lake, resurfacing a few seconds later looking far from comfortable. "Gahhhh... went up my nose...!"

"Not a problem," Rio said as he fished the sunblock out of his bag, listening in on the conversation Mickey had initiated.
"WHOO-HOOOOOOOO!" Paul was clearly having a ball as he raced down the slide and was finally dumped into the water. Once submerged, his head shot up in time with Cat's, and he had to chuckle at her quip. "How were you not ready for that?" he joked, lightly splashing her.
