The first thing that needed to be done was to plug Metal Sonic into an outlet. It was horrible.
Metal Sonic's engines were supposed to sustain it for the next thirty years, generating energy even in the face of extensive damage. Unthankfully the good doctor never accounted for near fatal damage. So when Metal Sonic opened up a panel to reveal a port where he could be plugged into the WALL, he couldn't help but feel some level of humiliation as one of his new... Attendants plugged him in.
Still, give the damn thing credit, it was at least giving him plenty of electrical energy. Embarrassing though it was, it was serving it's purpose.
"Systems rebooting. Damage; extreme. Now running diagnostic.
"Engine support system; System failure, sustaining heavy damage.
"Combustor support system; system failure, sustaining heavy damage.
"Central information sector and storage system; status deplorable, sustaining medium damage." Which was bad, but at least it was still working.
"Limb support system;" His arms suddenly twitched sporadically. "System failure. Sustaining heavy damage."
In otherwords literally EVERYTHING was broken...
WONDERFUL....

Shulk blinked as the robot spoke to them, taking notes as it spoke. "...That's some extensive damage. I hope I have enough parts to repair him..." The blond man put his hand to his chin again, before nodding, setting the Monado on a 'display' he had for it off to the side as he got his bag and tools.
Slipping his goggles over his eyes, the Homs got to work. Thankfully, Shulk thought, he'd saved a lot of Mechon parts over the years. While they certainly clashed color-wise with the blue robot, they would do to help repair the external damages... and the electric components he had, he believed, would be enough to at the least partially repair the robot's malfunctioning systems. Getting a welding torch and his other equipment, Shulk got to work. "Alright then. Here goes."

Rather than do anything to specifically help, Nora just balanced a wrench, a screwdriver, and an actual balance on her head, smiling all the while. Oddly, she didn't seem to put much focus to just balancing. "That's a lot of neat robot parts!" she smiled, tilting her head to let the tools tumble. "Where'd you get all of those from?"
It was around this point that Nora started to realize she wasn't in a dream, keeping close hold to her grenade launcher as she had made her way through the city with her newfound friends. Everything felt to real, and nothing as crazy as a field of edible candy cropped up in the middle, so it was pretty obvious it wasn't a dream after all. "Did you get them from destroying a few hundred rampant robots that wanted the wreck you to tiny pieces?"
Outside, no-one seemed to notice that the mist from before seemed to have moved itself to Shulk's apartment. It wasn't there when they arrived- it just seemed to be appearing now.

While Shulk got to work, Paul was off to the side, studying the robot's mechanics and subsequently gathering and organizing the parts and tools they would need. When it came to the actual repair job, Shulk seemed to have it covered. Paul knew that if he tried to lend a hand right off the bat, he'd just be crowding Shulk and the little robot. So he decided it best that he be there for technical support or to take any requests asked of him.
In the meantime, while he sorted through the spare components they had, he figured he'd make cooperation between the group a bit easier. "Um... I'm Paul, by the way."

As everyone spoke up in whatever way they wished, Metal's systems continued whirring and beeping as if he was continuing to run a diagnostics on himself. What no-one knew however was that the robot was actually cycling through his memory banks going over all the data he had collected from his latest battle with his sworn enemy.
The most prominent data was the new bits he had. Data that made the robot want to clench it's fists and punch a wall. Lousy smug grinning little brat....
Needless to say, it was apparent Metal himself was not interested in talking now that he had a repair man. He was just gonna let this all happen and react once it was all done.

"They're..." Shulk turned his head, blinking as he saw Nora balancing his things on her head...
"...They're from Mechon. Robotic weapons that my friends and I fought a while ago." He took the wrench from her head, using it to start fixing the robot's arms. He looked over at Paul, nodding. "Shulk. Pleased to meet you."

"My name's Nora!" she offered, still grinning ear to ear. "Oh, by the way, Shulk, you wouldn't mind having a few spare rooms... would you?" she asked, still bouncing to her own rhythm.

Paul nodded, continuing to keep a respectful distance as he examined the robot further, hissing uncomfortably at the sight. "Heavy damage is right. Let's hope we don't fry his circuits trying to fix them. If his central processes go, we might never find out what happened to him or what he's meant to do."

As Paul spoke this, a sudden thought seemed to occur to Metal...
Would they ACCEPT what he was previously? Would they be afraid of him? Would they try to destroy him similarly to how Sonic has done on so many different occasions? .... Given the weapons these people used, he did not like his chances if they turned on him suddenly. His scanners had more then revealed a few dangerous elements regarding the weapons they carried... He needed some kind of excuse in case they asked, some kind of story he could feed them in case something were to go awry. He was smart enough now that he could reason on such things... All he needed now was just the right excuse and just the right explanation.
As he thought on this however, his scanners took in the foreign robot parts... Well... They weren't exactly pretty looking or even all that sleek but... They would perhaps do.
"Scanning..." Shulk and the others stopped their chatting as Metal said this right out of nowhere, looking at the Mechon parts. "......... Foreign technological parts scanned. Data successfully copied and saved." As he said this, he got up and tried limping over to the pile... Or at least he TRIED to before the limited Outlet plug stopped him. FREAKING PLUG-IN. Face flat but still feeling somewhat annoyed, Metal pointed at one of the pieces in particular, one that was likely quite familiar to Shulk. "Acceptable replacement to engine jet chassis located."

"That..." Shulk did indeed recognize that part. "...This robot can copy data?" He'd never seen a Mechon capable of that... what a bizarre robot. Shulk's curiosity was piqued, however.
...He was looking at one of Metal Face's old boosters. "...I suppose if nothing else, I'm sure he could put it to better use than that part's former owner. All right, let's get this working..." Getting the part, Shulk got his tools. "Where is your jet chassis?"

"That belly is a jet turbine if you didn't notice," Nora noted, looking about. "Hey Shulk, you got any food in here? I'm staaaaarved."

"Hm..." Paul nodded at Nora's comment, having taken that into consideration himself. He would've sweatdropped at her question if he was an anime character. Which he wasn't. Whatever he was, that was for sure, at least.
"Well, at least he's getting some power back..." Paul sighed, feeling less stressed, if only slightly. "Now, where do we start?"

Rather then taking a moment to answer soundly and mechanically, Metal instead clanked his gripped metal fingers against his belly... The plate opened up revealing a fairly complex looking network of wires and circuitry built around and into what appeared to be a small but very apparent jet engine turbine.... Needless to say the thing had seen better days. Metal back stepped back to his seat and sat back, allowing Shulk to get a steady look within his inner systems.
One step at a time....

"I... hadn't, actually. I've never seen a robot with this sort of design." Shulk exhaled softly. "There is some, yes, but I'd suggest avoiding those raspberries in there." Hell Raspberries weren't fun to eat, after all. ...At least, Shulk didn't think so. Sharla seemed to love the things.
As Metal opened up his turbine, Shulk nodded, getting his tools... he slowly removed the turbine, setting the old Mechon engine inside and re-wiring it carefully. "There we go... this should help with that, at least..."

The sound of the fridge opening up could be heard. As well as the sound of constant humming. "...How much of this will you miss if I eat it?" she asked. While it sounded like she wanted to raid his fridge, she was mostly asking so she didn't eat up something he was saving for later...
But the truth was, she really wanted to raid his fridge too.
