The being walked around the trio. "Must be a higher Fallen then," she commented as she came to stand in front of them again. "You didn't get your powers stripped. Seems your wings could use a bit of help though."

Ace bristled as the being passed them by, and that last comment prompted her to point the sharp, spaded end of Blackjack at the interloper. Her wings flapped defiantly, a few loose feathers detaching and drifting away. "Lay a finger on my wings and I'll reduce yours to ash."

"Ace, babe, I don't think that's necessary," Patrick muttered, quickly growing worried. "Your wings will be fine once the curse lifts..."
Patrick, I think it might be prudent that we detain her, Van insisted, surprising Patrick enough to make him jump; his alternate selves had been awfully quiet up until now. I'm afraid she might be acting on the darker tendencies of fallen angels. And if she lashes out, we'll have to take action, and then who knows what that would prompt Evan to do?
Well, maybe you oughta decide who you're more worried about, Ray offered. 'Cause there's an easy solution to either problem.
Ray, you promised you wouldn't order Evan to attack anyone!
Alright then, smarta**. What's your brilliant strategy?
Just give me a moment...
While the two mulled things over in his head, Patrick gently placed a hand on Ace's staff. "Let's just... calm down, alright?"

"Kinda hard to turn blood to ash. My actual wings were ripped off," the being offered as she held up her hands. "I know when I'm out ranked, Spade."
A few drips splattered onto the concrete.

"I think I'd like to keep them intact until then," Ace murmured darkly.
She didn't move. She didn't lower her defenses. She simply narrowed her eyes and raised her other hand.
At her silent command, tiny beads of blood rose from the drops that had dripped onto the ground. They might've been small, but still Ace mentally guided them into an orbit around the other fallen gracefully and with extreme prejudice, as if only to display a tiny portion of her abilities.

"Uh, Ace...??" Patrick gulped nervously. "Y-You don't have to do that. We don't need to start a fight here."
Evan started growling again as he observed the spectacle, unaware that it was being conducted by his master's ally. For all he knew, a fight was well on the horizon.

"Take all the blood you want. Can't a girl just want to spook people and have fun during the fog?" the woman asked. "Hell I've known targets with better manners, High One." The woman backed off a few steps. She flipped up a hood over short blonde hair.

Ace's already narrow eyes tightened further into nearly identical black slits. With a flick of her wrist, she let the blood droplets fall, then she turned away. "Fine. Just leave me be."

Patrick stumbled back a bit when Ace turned around, but was at least able to breathe a sigh of relief when she calmed down. He turned to Evan and once again told him off. "No."
Likewise, Evan went silent, shooting Patrick a quick glance before fixing his piercing scowl back on the fallen.

"You've got a smart wolf there, Ghost buster," the woman offered. "The name is Artemis, High One. Messenger of the Fates and assassin when needed."

Ace said nothing. She didn't turn back around. At the very least, she put her staffs away and folded her arms. The less she could tempt her assertive side, the better.

Patrick awkwardly rubbed his neck, not sure what to do about Ace. He instead turned to Artemis and said, "Well, he's not really a wolf. He's just a guy... who thinks he's... vlyk... whatever that is."
Evan huffed once as if to say "dang straight."
"This is Ace. And I guess you've met Patrick. Me."

"Fair," she offered.

"Uh-huh, yeah..." Ace mumbled flatly as she resumed walking down the footpath, anxious to leave the scene.
Darn fallen angel. Ace could put up with monsters, but she was in no mood to put up with fallen angels, demonic or otherwise. She had been trying to distance herself from their kind for so long now in her pursuit of redemption, and she had no interest in associating with their kind ever again. That was a mistake evident now more than ever.
She needed to get away. Push these dark thoughts out of her head. By that point, Ace was willing to take ANYTHING different...

She was certainly going to get 'different'. Having more firmly established himself in the castle along with Dracula, a certain vampire was making the round of the island, looking for fresh blood to drink to help restore his strength.
This certainly seemed like a good group to try with.
"Hmhmhmh~ Well well, what do we have here?"
A tall blond man wearing a bright yellow jacket, a green shirt underneath it, and a bright yellow pair of pants and shoes with heart designs on them appeared, arms folded as his eyes looked the group over.
