Ace sat up slightly, though she kept her head hung low to hide the shame in her face, both literal and metaphorical. "Th-Thank you... I just..." Tears continued to fall like rain. "You know I never meant to... I-I didn't think I would... SNNFF... Maybe I really am... becoming a..."

"Nooo... No, no, no you're not," Patrick firmly asserted. "It's like I said, Ace, it's the fog. No one on the island is in their proper state, whether it be physical or mental. So you look a little different. So you got a little frustrated. I've lost control of my multiple selves plenty of times already. It doesn't mean we are what this curse is trying to make us into."
He wrapped his arms around Ace, nuzzling his head in the crook of her neck. "Don't you think on it, Ace. Don't you think on it for one minute."
...Well said, Patrick. Well said, Van murmured, awed by this continuation of Patrick's hidden maturity.

"Ace. You're an angel and a powerful one at that. When not in the fog.... I'm just a human who knows how to.... for lack of a better term.... kill," she offered. "You've got one hell of a loyal guy and I'm sure Feral over here is rather loyal when not on all fours."

Ace sniffled a little, staring down at Patrick. It never ceased to amaze her just how fiercely loyal he was to her. How fiercely loyal he had always been to her from the moment they met. Now matter how low her self esteem sunk, he always found a way to lift it back up. To remind her that she was who she believed she was, not what the world defined her as.
He really was too good for her...
Still, after hesitating for a bit out of fear of a negative reaction, Ace slowly but firmly returned the hug, too weak to resist and too scared to let go. "Patrick..."

Patrick snuggled closer. "For what it's worth... you really are amazing."
Evan grunted once and moved closer to the two, as if concerned by the fact that Ace was holding Patrick so tightly. Without even looking up at him, and with the same sweet tone, Patrick called him off. "No. Sit."

Artemis gave a smile. "Don't you have a maniac to stop?" she offered with a smirk.

Ace flinched. She hadn't been in the right state of mind when she suggested going after Dio. Now that she was calm, she wanted nothing more than to stay that way. She pulled away from Patrick slightly and murmured. "I think I need to avoid stress from here on out. M-Maybe we should just..."
Suddenly, her attention turned northward. Something was approaching them quickly over the horizon. Something powerful. Something that shook the ground they sat upon. Something in the form of an intense silver light.
"Maybe we should get outta here."

"Uh... Yeah!" Patrick whimpered as he watched the approaching light. "Evan, come here!"
At Patrick's beckon call, Evan ran up to him and Ace and joined them in their huddle. A purple arcane circle lit up beneath them.
Patrick, what about Artemis?! Van interjected.
"Ah-! Wait!" In his haste to summon a portal, Patrick had almost forgotten. And the spell was nearly complete. "What about you?!"

"I can take the long way around. I could use a break in the action. Besides I need to go get a few things from home," she offered with a grin.

Ace nodded up at her fellow fallen. "Good luck. Whatever that is... better brace yourself!"
She pulled closer to the boys. "Let's go!!"

"Right!" As Patrick quickly conjured up a portal, he called out to Artemis. "Sorry again! Stay safe!"
Evan let out a strange noise. It almost sounded like a whimper.
As the twilight struck the park, the trio vanished, consumed by purple light, but still taking a great deal of the powerful force. Where and how they would reappear was a mystery... mostly because Patrick hadn't taken that into account.
Cut him some slack. He wasn't in his right state of mind.
