Sirion tensed up, his blood practically boiling from Orcana's touch. He turned around and scowled down at the violet blood, his stern, cold expression masking what would've likely been a much more fiery rage of deep, passionate hate. If there was one thing Sirion hated more than weaklings, it was her.
Of course, he wasn't particularly fond of Lagola's infamous cowardice either. This left him with the option of either leaving the bronze blood to continue shaming trollkind or helping the troll he hated most. Both ideas made him want to bash his own head in.
"Look, I said it before, I'll say it again!" he snarled. "I already did my part to toughen the little brat up and it still ain't done s***! It's not like I want a whiny little b**** on the team! I'm just sick uh her, an' I'm sick uh wasting my time on a lost cause! But 'ey, we're done with the game, ain't we? We ain't gotta worry about time s*** anymore. If you're so sick uh her, why not just dump her and forget about it?"

"I think that the best thing you done ever say dogbreath," Orcana chriped out, leering at the pitiful bronzeblood, all of her teeth bared.
"Maybe you can meet yo angel. Maybe he ain't gonna mind you bein' a blubberin' crybaby."

As Sirion spoke, something within Aquila snapped. The eagle troll snarled slightly. "Oh really, puppy?"
None of his previous tone was there. Now he was rather icy. "...I find it absolutely disgusting that you could turn your back on her, considering your past. How much longer you gonna lie to yourself, huh? You're all about bein' noble and shit like that, yeah? Well, y'know something? Our old culture's pretty much shot outta the sky. There really ain't much worth keeping that mask of yours up for.
A rather smug smirk crossed Aquila's features. "...It's pretty bad form to treat your old roleplay partner that poorly, y'know? Lookin' at the humans showed me that much at least."

Lagola curled inward slightly, having anticipated the bile from Sirion. It was pretty much all she ever got from him these days. A small scowl creased her forehead at Orcana's comment. Maybe she would. Maybe she could finally get away from this madhouse and find someone who would accept her for who she was. That would just make everyone happy, wouldn't it?
But then Aquila came to her defense again. At first, Lagola didn't quite understand what he was insinuating as he chewed out Sirion. The indigo blood was always like this, even before the game, and even if her relationship with him had faltered greatly over time, she couldn't help but question why Aquila was so mad at him now.
And then he mentioned their roleplaying history. Lagola straightened up, eyes wide, as if she had heard a gun go off. She stared at Sirion through bronze tears, shaking her head so rapidly and minutely that it looked more like she was twitching. This could only end badly.

Sirion rolled his eyes as Orcana turned away from him. Yeah. She would agree with him. Because he was right. At least she got that.
He then shot a glare at Aquila. Truth be told, Sirion had never had much of an opinion of the jade blood, beyond slight bitterness at him pretty much subjecting them to a life of solitude and perpetual boredom. But now, as Aquila gave him a verbal lashing, Sirion was getting appropriately angry. "Excuse me, oh wise Seerrrr," he snarled through gritted teeth, "but since when was this about me, huh? I mean, excuse me for trying to HELP the poor b****!"
And then came the bomb.
Roleplay?
Sirion froze, his face blank. What was he talking about? How could he have known about that??
That was... no! He wasn't like that! Well, maybe at one point he was, but... Come on, he wasn't being serious with that crap! It wasn't that he LIKED doing that juvenile BS! Even if it was kind of cathartic at times... Wait, what? NO! It was just a stupid setup to get a whiny autistic girl's attention! He was above that!!
Slowly, his attention shifted back to Lagola. His scowl returned, infinitely more twisted than before. "You... What did you tell him?"
The bronze blood's silent plea of innocence never occurred to him. Within two seconds, Sirion had stormed up to Lagola, grabbed her by the jacket and hauled her dangerously close to his livid face. "HUH?! YOU LITTLE P***, WHAT'D YOU TELL HIM?!!"

"So what this thang I hear aboat you an guppy?"
Orcana swaggered over to Sirion and Lagola, resting her head against the much larger indigoblood's arm, ignoring the resulting growl.
"You mean, you used to roleplay wit' dis sucka? Man Siri... I thought you was coo'."

Orcana's motions and talking didn't really register with Aquila... as Sirion lifted Lagola up into the air... suddenly, a white arrow of Hope energy flew through the space between the two trolls' faces, Aquila holding his twin-purpose weapon, Sanctum Arcum; the golden 'blades' of the weapon combined into its bow form.
"She didn't tell me a damn thing, fleabag. It wasn't tough to figure out. I've always been pretty perceptive after all. So why do you keep hiding yourself, huh? Why do ya treat L like she's lesser?"

Lagola squeaked in panic, her legs flailing as she was hoisted off the floor and immediately started to blindly, desperately search for solid ground. She couldn't look away from Sirion's dark, penetrating eyes, even as Aquila fired a warning shot that just barely grazed both of their noses.
She swallowed hard, tears silently sliding down her cheeks, the rest of her body too numb to struggle for freedom anymore.
How had it come to this?

"F*** YOU, I had to get her attention somehow!" Sirion barked at Orcana, elbowing her away. "The little brat won't listen to anyone unless they play by her dumba** make-believe rules!"
His attention then snapped back to Aquila when the jade blood fired at them and proceeded to call Sirion out. "Listen, buzz boy, I don't give a rat's left a** cheek about the emotional affairs of an obnoxious, self-entitled, whiny little b****," he snarled, shaking Lagola by the collar like he was drying her jacket. "Sure, call me crazy for forcing myself onto her level just so she could have a single iota of a chance in hell of stepping up to mine and making something of her pathetic little life! If it weren't for me, you sorry sacks of wet musclebeast s*** wouldn't have had a time player, now would ya?! You're f*****' welcome for that, by the way!"
He swung Lagola to the side, turning her slightly as if to point at Aquila with her horns. "And maybe she COULD'VE made something of herself if YOU didn't stick all of us in this f*****' box! Ya ever think about THAT?! You ever think that maybe all the steps I've taken to help her grow the hell up have been for naught because YOU'VE kept her from branching out?! Hell, she made f*****' god tier because of ME, and a fat lotta help it's doing her now, birdbrain!!"

"Fo' once dog buoy say somethin' smart. I wonder if it like a double apocalypse up in 'ere~"
She turned on her moirail, standing on her tiptoes in an attempt to match his height. Failing that, she shook what appeared to be a large book out of her sylladex and stood on that instead.
"We ain't doin' nothin' here! An' it your fault fo' this! Why we ain't rulin' these stupid humans like we's supposed to!? Laggy ain't no betta then we we started this game! I mean look at her! Still shakin' an' trustin' her farmer 'til lil bunny go to the slaughterhouse! The slaughterhouse I says!"

Aquila's shoulder shook a bit, the jadeblood shaking with anger. "Why...? You know I regretted that we came here. I have since about the end of the first week. I spoke so strongly about it... because it was the path that my powers showed me; the one that actually held a shred of hope for us."
Jade liquid was threatening to eke from his eyes, but the eagle troll's posture did not falter. "If we had tried to rule the world we created, we would have been destroyed. As it is, our race doesn't have much of a hope in hell of thriving, thanks to me!"
Being a Seer was tough, and being one of Hope was tougher, given their situation. No Matriorb meant no more trolls, and there wasn't a thing he could do about it.. "All I've been trying to do is trust my visions and try to keep things from getting any worse. That's why I fought so hard to calm you down after what those humans did to you, O. That's... that's why I had us come here instead of into fully the world we made. ...We might've ended up dead along with all the humans' family and friends if we hadn't been here."
He was gripping his bow so tightly that his grey skin was almost white in places, and the eagle troll was shaking more noticeably now.
"...I've tried my damndest to keep everything together, and it always felt that you, sir, were undermining it. Face it. Our race is as good as gone. Our culture is pretty much gone. The fact that you clung to that so tightly even after all that, that you treated her how you did for that ideal?! I hate it! And I've always hated that about you!"
Aquila shot Sirion a look that couldn't be mistaken for anything else, really. The most caliginous glare the jadeblood could muster, the most hate-filled gaze he had bore down at Sirion.

Too many emotions. Too much hostility. It was getting to be too much for Lagola, never mind the fact that she was still dangling helplessly in Sirion's grip.
If anything, she knew Aquila was right, no matter how hard the truth was. He had simply acted upon what he felt was best for them, the last of their kind. She wasn't mad at him, though even he was getting a little too hot under the collar for her. Orcana was being disgustingly self-centered as usual, and Sirion... well... Lagola knew firsthand what happened when Sirion was either forced into a corner or given nothing to do, and she was rightfully afraid of it. Too many irons in that fire.
She wasn't even sure what she was crying about anymore. Fear for her own wellbeing, frustration at Orcana and Sirion's indignation, sympathy for Aquila... Really, by this point, she was just crying for the sake of crying, which wasn't exactly a foreign concept for Lagola.
Truth be told, sometimes she forgot she had these powers...
Unable to bear the tension or uncomfortable position anymore, Lagola suddenly vanished from Sirion's hands, only to reappear in the same spot two seconds later once he had inevitably retracted his arms. After touching back down, she took a quick moment to assess the situation one last time, then she did what she did best when things got too hot to handle: turn and high-tail it down the hall and out of sight.

Sirion glowered at Aquila with nothing but contempt, the fire in his chest building the longer the jade blood whined. He seriously thought that this was their only option? He was so doubtful of their competence and abilities that he refused to believe they could've survived another world-ending crisis? He was content to let them all rot in this cell for the rest of their lives, not even granting them one last chance at freedom before all was said and done for troll kind?!
And above all else... "You... You think this is a matter of... of cultural obligation?! JEGUS CHRIST ON A TWO-WHEEL DEVICE, could you BE any more dense?! Great insight ya got there, Seer! Oh, and way to keep our hopes up! I don't-!! What the...?"
Before he could go on, Lagola disappeared out of thin air, prompting Sirion to lower his arms and stare quizzically at the empty space where he once held her. Soon enough, though, she reappeared, and before any further comments could be made, she was running away like the coward she was.
And that's when it finally hit Sirion. All that work he put into whipping Lagola into shape, all the energy they put into the game, the universe they created, their forced exile, all the tension that was finally coming full circle... it was all for nothing. Nothing had changed. Nothing mattered anymore.
It was all just a colossal waste of time.
And it was all because of HER.
To think that Sirion had tried to help her... to think that they had practically roped each other into this game... to think that Lagola was the Rogue of Time because of him... to think that after everything they had been through, she would just toss it all aside, refuse to change, and run and hide like it was all for naught?! Well whadya know?! Obviously it WAS!
"THAT'S IT!! I can't believe I ever bothered to stick my nub out for you!" Sirion screamed down the hall, whipping out his oversized morning star.
"You're dead!"
The blue soles of his anti-gravity shoes lit up.
"YOU'RE F*****' DEAD!!!"
And then Sirion was off, racing down the hall after Lagola, the hound in pursuit of the hare.

"Whale what'cu gon' do birdy?" Orcana chirped at her much taller moirail, chuckling slightly at the sight of Sirion chasing the pansy where she ran.
"Me? I dunno about y'all," she continued, replacing the book in her sylladex. "But I ain't gon' stay on this hunka rock all ma life."
She turned, and unfurled a pair of pale violet wings...
"I gots me some treasure to look fo'"
Before she could hear a word of protest, she took off running through the halls, before jumping into the void beyond...

Aquila barely registered Orcana leaving. The jadeblood felt... utterly defeated. Even that (rather uncharacteristic, he felt) bit of rage he'd felt towards Sirion had gone more or less flat. He had no idea what to do...
He dropped his bow, looking down. Even his Seer vision was murky... he couldn't glean a thing through it. He wanted to chase Sirion, he wanted to chase Orcana... but he didn't. The Jadeblood just stood there, head down slightly, dead to the world.
