Carol's hand shake was surprisingly firm for Beth as well. Like, not on level with her, but definitely somewhere close. Still, Carol looked impressed either way. "Who-ho-hoa~! That's quite the grip you got there little lady~! Color me impressed!" Carol grinned somewhat, as she shook heartily. "I'm almost surprised I never heard of ya. A grip like that, you MUST be some kinda hero~." KO looked practically STARRY EYED when Carol made this guess. "YOU ARE~ ?" Carol smiled down at her child as she released the hand. "I'd like ta apologize if me and my little dumbbell caused any sorta ruckus. We're not really sure how we got here either." Indeed, it had been a normal day at Lakewood Plaza... And then suddenly they were dropping into this indoor shopping mall.

Beth gave a small smile. "I've had my trials," she offered before kneeling to KO's level. "Heroes can hide in plain sight. We might not be the strongest but we are willing to do what's right to help others. A single act of kindness can make even the weak look like heroes to those they help." She looked to Carol. "And I was a hero but not in the way you would think, Miss Carol."
Beth softly sighed as she stood up. "It nearly gave me a heart attack and a bit of ptsd... but all is good and no one was hurt. And I understand. I used to run an online store. Though... I willingly came here...." she added.

"Hahahaha~! Humility! I can appreciate that!" Carol chuckled as she started looking around. "Sooooo... What exactly do you sell in here?"
KO had rushed off to look around himself before finding what appeared to be a few costumes and bringing them back up front. "Hey mom! Look at this!!" He smiled even wider, bouncing up and down. "I get it now!! You're a hero selling hero costumes and clothes! That's so cool~!! Hey hey Moommay~!" ... He blushed a bit before trying again. "Hey mom~! Can I have cool clothes like this~?? I wanna be a super hero too!"
Carol laughed at her little bundle of joy before turning to Beth simply. "Well, simple hero or not, looks to me like you just got yourself a fan~."

"Actually KO. I sell clothing and props. Those are replicas from various characters in different games and shows," she offered. She looked to Carol with a soft smile. "I can tell."
Though..... If you knew the whole story.... you'd probably call me a villian... She thought as a rogue shard of glass cut through her pant leg and grazed her lower leg.

Neither KO nor Carol notice. "Hahahahaha~! Ah I see! It's a clothing store with some stuff for anime fans! I love it!" She grins before elbowing Beth slightly. "But hey, COULD you make something functional as well as good looking~? That would only just complete the image all the more I think." KO smiled widely as he looked at the costume he had in his own size, a blue jacket with a red headband, with blue pants. (The outfit belonging to Akira Yuki of Virtua Fighters) "Hehehehe~! Hey! I want this one! Can I buy this one mom~??" He was practically bouncing up and down as he said this looking so excited with the idea. vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/virtuafighter/images/9/90/Project_X_Zone_Akira.png/revision/latest?cb=20130524120943Chuckling at the energy, Carol shrugged a bit. "Before that, my little piece a' pie. You'd better go check that thing will actually fit you~." Beth, likely deciding to help, would point the way... But as she did, Carol would have noted the cut on Beth's leg, deciding to keep silent until KO was gone.

Beth calmly walked KO over to the dressing rooms. "Here you are. Take your time," she offered to the kid. She waited until KO had gone into the room to limp back to Carol.
Though the odd thing was instead of droplets hitting the floor several crystals did. "I'll be fine Carol," Beth offered as her scratch scabbed over with an odd dark red crystal.

Carol was... Well not really freaked out or concerned, but she was definitely somewhat confused at the show. "Are you... Crystallizing your own blood?" .... She couldn't help but grin. "A little strange, but definitely interesting. Still... I wonder what caused it-" She notes the shard of glass responsible for the cut. "Whoop haha, looks like ya missed one there sweetheart. Wonder where that came from..." She bent down and gently picked up the shard. It was notable that the shard didn't appear to be cutting into her fingers. "Well, whatever~! Just throw it in the trash and it won't be cuttin ya anymore."

"Trash can is right behind ya. I'm guessing you've got some thick skin on your hand since that ain't cutting you," Beth offered as the crystals floated into her hand. "It has to do with the hero thing..." She seemed nervous admitting this fact.

Carol casually dropped the piece of glass into the trash. "Being a hero's got nothin' ta do with it~. I'm just a healthy ole gal! Hahaha! But of course, what do you expect from the former Champion of the world right~?" .... She notes the expression. "What? I was. I was one of the most well known fighters EVER back on my world. World champ! Then I got into retail, running a gym that kind of thing... Then of course, I had my lil' dumbell and nothing was quite the same again." She had clear stars in her eyes as she talked on...
However she shook her head a bit and smiled to Beth, noticing what seemed to be discomfort at the subject. "Heeeey, don't worry. I don't think it's weird~. It's different sure, but it's not weird. Ya got nothin' ta be ashamed of!"

"If you knew the whole story ma'am.... I fear you and your son would view me as a villain..." she weakly offered. "I was born just another normal human. No powers. No nothing. Just me, my little sister, and my folks."
Beth took a breath. Her eyes watched Carol as silence filled the area.

................
Carol shrugged. "Then I don't wanna hear it."
?
The woman smiled kindly, arms crossed. "Personally, yer story should just be steppin' stones as to how ya got here. It doesn't have to define WHO YOU ARE." The gruff lady chuckled, a kind of gentle grace about it. "Personally, from what little I actually know about ya, I think yer a really nice girl~. A nice girl that shouldn't be beatin' herself up as much as she thinks she should." Carol proceeded to pat Beth on the head. "And as a professional at a gym? I can safely tell ya that that kinda negativity just ain't good for ya. Try to work on it. Okay~?"

"My fiance is a shrink.... so yeah... I am... slowly," she offered as she was patted.

"Glad to hear it~." Carol said simply, that gap toothed smile looking so innocent and yet so wise. "You just keep bettering yourself and soon enough, I KNOW you'll be able ta carry yerself just like me~!" Maybe that seemed hard to believe. Carol herself was a tall and proud woman with plenty of muscle, Muscle she likely worked hard to obtain and keep.
"Hey!! Hey mom!!"
The two turned to find KO walking up to them, missing the blood crystals on the floor entirely as he showed off his new costume. "Check me out~! I'm so ready to kick badbuy bootie~! Come on! Gimme someone!" KO starts energetically punching the air. Hah, cutiepie.
"Hehehehe~. Now now my little Dumbbell~." Carol said, picking KO up. "We still got a lot of work to do before we go picking any fights. You're momma's gonna be wanting some help. Can I count on ya KO?"
"Hah~! Yeah mom! Let me pick up anything heavy!"

Beth smiled and looked to KO. "You look awesome, KO," she offered as Carol's words sunk in.
