The afternoon sun hung over the western sky, casting its warm rays over the Void City Plaza. In the streets below, citizens tended to their business as they strolled down the road or filed in and out of the recently rebuilt stores. All seemed normal, or at least as normal as things could get in this darn forum.
However, if one were to cast their gaze towards the eastern horizon, they might notice a glimmer in the distance.
Said glimmer was a small swarm of colorful, glittery butterflies, four of which were fairy versions of the humans and anthros they once were.
"HEY GUYS! HEY GUYS! HEY GUYS GUYS GUYS!" Rio hollered as he flew in excited twirls. "WHERE WE GOIN'?!"
"I DUNNO, MAN!" Sam gleefully replied. "WE WERE FOLLOWING YOU!"
"OH! WHOOPSIES! HAHA!"

"AW, IT DON'T MATTER! I KNOW I'M HAVING FUN!" Mickey cackled, fluttering about in erratic zigzags. "I MEAN, WE COULD GO EXPLORING THAT CITY OVER THERE! THAT COULD BE HECKA MORE FUN! IT COULD BE ALL THE FUNS!!!"
As the hyperactive fairies discussed their course of action, they seemed to completely forget about the scarlet bullfrox that had fallen behind by several miles. Nonetheless and despite how clearly exhausted she was, Cat trudged on, awkwardly waddling towards the city with her flyswatter clenched in her mouth. She had to stop whatever was coming. Somehow.

"HEY! MAYBE WE CAN GET OTHERS TO JOIN THIS PARTY OF OURS! I THINK RUBBLES HAS A DECENT SCROLL WE CAN BORROW FOR A PLAYLIST!" The energetic yellow Aflutterfly fairy offered as she darted about between the main group members.

As the Aflutterflies continued fraternizing with each other, they, at first, did not notice the void portal opening up nearby like a dark doorway. From it, Alex appeared, taking in the town with a small smile. "Haaaah... It's good to be back..." Alex continued looking around, spinning in place. "I wonder what everyone's been up to while I was gone..." ... Actually that had been a good question... He took a moment to focus... Using his thoughts to communicate... ---------------------- 'Hey uh... Kaimu was it?'That is me. Yes. Have you arrived back home safely?"Well, not really home yet. Still in the city... But slightly related topic... How long have I been in the void?'Hehehe... Don't worry, I know you have friends here... I made sure you didn't spend too much time... It's been about... A week at best.'... Well... A week's an improvement over a few months at the very least...'Very true, so your welcome by theeeee WHAT THE- ?------------------------ Alex was snapped back into reality when he realized 'Kaimu' had turned on his void body barrier. "Kaimu-? What's... Going on-?"You have up to four very powerful contagions quickly approaching..! No matter what happens, do not let them touch you and do not accept anything they give you!..................... WHAT-? Suddenly, the sounds of a number of hyperactive voices came to the Thief's attention... And one of them sounded a lot like... "... Yang-?" |

"EXPLORATION?! TUNES?!" Rio slapped his hands onto his cheeks and sucked in an ecstatic gasp of air. "I LIKE IT!!!"
"I LIKE IT TOO!" Sam cheered, playfully bumping into Rio and Mickey. "AND I LIKE YOU GUYS!"
"AWWWWW, THAT'S SO SWEET! WHOOP-!" When Sam energetically knocked him off course, Rio quickly corrected himself and started descending with two aflutterflies flanking him. "WHEEEEE!!! DIVE BOMB!!!"

"YAY!!! WE'RE GOIN' IN!" Mickey twirled once before bolting after Rio alongside another aflutterfly. Their concrete playground awaited them below. "MAN THE HELMS!!! DIVE, DIVE, DIVE!!! PCHOOOOOOOO!!!"
Still far behind, Cat dropped Goldenhand and paused to catch her breath. Hopping all the way from the Geodesic Caverns to the city had been a long and arduous trek, one that left her pooped. With her energy all but completely drained, the bullfrox slumped and panted, her frog tongue lolling out of her mouth and touching the ground.
But even in her rest period, Cat was panicking. The longer it took her to catch up with the aflutterflies, the more trouble they would undoubtedly cause. How was she supposed to combat this?
Okay, Cat, calm down... she mentally ordered, squeaking out stiff grunts and croaks all the while. Think of a plan... Maybe... all I need to do is catch Rio. If I can fix him, he can fix me and we can... Okay, wait, how do I fix him? That Rainflower douche might have a cure we can spread around, but I'd have to take Rio... all the way back to the caverns.
She pressed her webbed paws against her head and sigh-chirped. All the way? All the way. All the way... ALL the way... ALL THE WAY. All the way back. All the way. ALL THE WAY BACK. ALL THE WAY! ALL THE WAY BACK!!! DANG IT, CACKOWSKI, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

Yang was soon diving a swooping with Rio and Mickey. Her laughter had a more bell like tone as she pulled up again. "THIS IS FUN!! WE HAVE TO GET MY TEAM, ALEX, TODD, AND BETH IN ON THIS!!! MAYBE EVAN AND HIS CREW TOO!!" Yang offered before she caught a glimpse of Alex.
She quickly flitted over to her boyfriend. "ALEX! ALEX!!! I CAN FLY TOO NOW!! WANNA JOIN IN OUR FUN?" she offered as she drew close to his face.

Yang's attempt to touch ended up stopping short of the void barrier, the cold feeling making her bounce off. ... It was probably a good thing that Kaimu was holding the barrier up for him, cause Alex wouldn't have held it up himself in his moment of disbelief. "Y-YANG?!?!" He looked at the little glowing light as closely as he could... He could almost make out a tiny little Yang with Fairy wings in the center. "YANG- WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOU-?" Even from where he stood, he could now tell what Kaimu was talking about. His senses picked up on deceptively powerful energy. "Why are you a PIXIE- WHAT HAPPENED-" If the other aflutterflies tried to join in, they'd find their own hands stopped by the void barrier as well. The magical energy was actually holding the aflutterflies back rather well. As stated before, it was a good thing Kaimu was holding up the barrier, cause Alex was reeling. Both at the sheer oddity of it all, and the fact that HIS Yang was a part of it. |

"WHO?"
"WHO CARES?!" Rio laughed back at Sam. "MORE PEEPS MEANS MORE FUNS!"
"TRUE THAT!" Sam replied. More funs was always a good thing.
When Yang approached a young man in blue robes, Rio was quick to join her in meeting this new friend, darting around Alex like a green and gold electron. "OOH! HI! HIYA! I'M RIO! YOU KNOW YANG?! COOL! I KNOW YANG TOO! AIN'T THAT A COINKYDINK?!"
There was a small ripple in Alex's void barrier when Sam collided with it. The force did no damage to the barrier, but it did send Sam bouncing back hard enough to hit the ground. The lion aflutterfly lay in a dizzy heap for a moment, then he quickly shot back up and laughed. "WHOA! DO IT AGAIN!!! HAHAHAHA!!!" He then threw himself at Alex's shield again, over and over like a moth to a light bulb.

Mickey pulled back and halted behind Yang, vocally mimicking the sound of a car screeching. He did another twirl, then hovered over Yang while staring Alex in the face. "DANG, MAN! YOU KNOW THIS GIRL?! HOO-WHEE, SHE'S A BARREL OF FUN! AND SO AM I! AND SO ARE RIO AND SAM! COMBINED, WE'RE ONE GIANT FREAKING GOOD TIME!!! WANT IN ON IT, MR. BLUE GUY WHO MAKES UP SILLY WORDS?!!!"
The aflutterflies continued to float about, trailing sparkles and chattering in tiny giggles, some making a beeline for the city while the rest danced about with their new companions.

"WENT TO THE CAVES AND THEN WE JUST KINDA ENDED UP THIS WAY," Yang offered as she crashed into the barrier again. "WHEN DID THE AIR AROUND YOU BECOME A TRAMPOLINE? THIS IS REALLY FUN! JUST WISH I COULD GET TO YOU SO YOU COULD JOIN IN TOO!"

........... Slowly, the young man's expression changed. The caves eh? Something to remember... But... There was something else that needed confirming. At the very least what happened to these four didn't SEEM evil in nature. It just seemed hyper and insane.
So he needed to approach this carefully.
"Out of morbid fascination, what do you mean by 'me joining you exactly?' What happened to you guys?"

"WHAT HAPPENED?!" Rio buzzed around to join Mickey and Yang in the center of Alex's vision. "ONLY THE MOST AMAZING, FANTASTICAL THING IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE FOREVERS! I WAS SO FRUSTRATED AND SCARED AND CONFUSED BEFORE, BUT NOW THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! THE AFLUTTERFLIES MADE EVERYTHING BETTER! I CAN SEE CLEARLY HOW BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL EVERYTHING IS! IT'S SO MAGICAL! YIPPEEEEEE!!!"
"IT'S LIKE NOTHING MATTERS ANYMORE!" Sam laughed as he continued to bounce off Alex's barrier. "NO MORE PROBLEMS! NO MORE WORRIES! EVERYTHING IS SWELL AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY! I FEEL SO ALIVE!!!"

"IT'S JUST SUCH A WARM, FUZZY, HAPPY, SUPERNATURAL, AWESOMETACULAR, SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS FEELING YOU JUST GOTTA LOSE YOURSELF TO TO BELIEVE! HA HA HAAA!!! HEY! YANG! YOU TWO SHOULD KISS! THAT'D BEAT MY FAN FICTION!!!"

Yang gave another laugh. "WE ALREADY HAVE, MICKEY! AND IT WAS SPECTACULAR~!" Yang offered as she flitted around Alex. "BUT IT WOULD BE AWESOME FOR HIM TO JOIN IN OUR SHENANIGANS!!"
She went in for another dive and bounce. Much like the guys had she was pulling the moth to a flame trick.
