Nora watched as Patrick zipped away after the taco eating. "...Maybe should've just made them filling," she admitted. That's when she noticed most of the fairies flap their way away, leaving the tacos behind (mostly, some of them were trying to fly while holding one). "What the...?"
Ed watched, then gasped. "OH NO! What if they figured out that there's other worlds beyond just this one?!" he asked in a panic. "It would be a universe wide epandemic!"
Nora opened the door once the coast looked clear. "I'm heading in!" She shouted, dashing after the fluttering goofballs.

IT wasn't long before Beth landed on Nora's head. Ruby, Weiss, and Blake soon followed.
"HIYA NORA!THAT OTHER FAERIE SEEMS TO BE A TROUBLE MAKER!"
"SHE'S RIGHT! AND WELCOME TO THE PARTY!!" Ruby offered from her perch on Nora's shoulder.
"HEY! MAYBE IF ALL FOUR OF US WORK TOGETHER- WE COULD FLY NORA OVER TO WHERE THAT WOLF LADY SAID SHE AND HER FRIENDS WERE GOING!" Blake offered from the other shoulder.
Weiss sat up on Nora's head with Beth but remained quiet.

Yang sighed. "Right behind you. Still hoping that my team is safe..." she commented as she followed her boyfriend.

In a poof of spaghetti sauce, tacos, and logic, the purple aflutterfly showed up at the ITS.

Ness jumped in fright as Madison suddenly appeared along with some... OTHER Aflutterfly and quickly caught the two in a barrier, introducing notable strain on the young psychic as he tried to hold both the bubble containing the two Aflutterflies and the barrier holding the others out...
If there was ANYONE out there that could end this madness... PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, END IT ALREADY BEFORE THINGS GET ANY WORSE-!!

"Whoa, wait a minute, what now??" Patrick was certainly confused by the change of plans, and though Swift quickly answered the questions mounting in his head, more of them immediately took their place. "Alex has the cure? Since when?" "Since he went to the caverns to talk to Rainflower, evidently," Evan answered. "But we can talk this out later! Can you transport the four of us to the mall's food court?" "Of course, buddy!" "Can you still maintain our barriers from that distance?" "Focus-wise, probably not, but even without me around, they should be stable for at least another hour." "Perfect. Should be all the time we need." "MAN, I LOVE THE TEAMWORK GOING ON HERE! IT'S ADORABLE!" Rio giggled. "YOU GUYS ARE ALL OVER THIS LIKE SEXY ON A MICKEY!"Patrick blinked, his expression vacant. "Learned a lot about you today, Rio..." When Aether voiced her and Andromeda's idea to rain on this parade, Patrick perked up with encouragement. "Heck yeah, I can most certainly be of service there, ladies!" "Awesome." Evan smirked and nodded to his team. "Do what you guys can to slow 'em down. Hopefully this will be over soon enough." "Right right." Patrick raised his hands, a purple arcane circle shining beneath Evan and Swift's feet. "Good luck, my biscuits!" "OOH, I LIKE-"Rio's remark was promptly cut off when he, Cat, Evan and Swift vanished in a burst of purple light. With the four of them off to procure the means to end this insanity, Patrick was left with Andromeda and Aether, the purple light continuing to swirl around his hands. Following a mental suggestion from Van, he turned to cast the alien duo a wide grin. "If it's all the same to you ladies, perhaps my talents would be best served down at the ITS. I'm sure you can handle a little crowd control around here, huh?" With that, Patrick promptly teleported himself outside the ITS. Sure enough, dozens of aflutterflies were swarming outside the station, blocked only by a psychic barrier projected by a lone young man. Poor kid was straining himself to hold them back, and Patrick knew from experience how persistent these little buggers could be... "Good call, Van!" Patrick mused aloud as he proceeded to gather the magical energy he needed for his next spell. " There's no escape and time is running out! Heaven can wait, COME HELL OR HIGH WATER!" A portal opened above them. From that portal came a torrential downpour of water, quickly sweeping away nearly every aflutterfly in its wake. Despite the obvious enjoyment many of them got from the wild ride, Patrcik was quick follow this up with a soggy apology. "Sorry, folks! This is for your own g- ACK!!! BLRBLBLG...! PLEH! "Hang tight, gals! We'll catch up with you soon!" Swift called as she, Evan and their companions were sent away. Seeing them off, Andromeda shot them a salute while Aether verbally insisted that they stay safe.
That said, the two turned to Patrick, nodding when he insisted he go protect the ITS. "Good idea. We'll take care of things here!"
As Patrick vanished to fulfill his duty, Aether started running down the street, her sky blue pelt shimmering with moisture and static. "Andy, you think you can divert some of them my way?"
Andromeda nodded, putting on a brave face as she sprinted ahead of Aether. While some of the aflutterflies were still rummaging trough the stores, a large number of them were flocking towards the ITS. She followed the crowd for a while, waving to the little fairies and earning a great deal of cheerful greetings in return. Once she had their attention, the Peaceful Warrior got to work...
In one mighty bound, Andromeda leaped atop a streetlight, posed with her arms stretched wide and one leg up, and released a great, luminescent burst of colorful light.
"OOOOOH...!"
"AAH, SO SHINY!"
"WELL, AREN'T YOU A CUTIE?!"
Though her smile was nervous, Andromeda kept up the show to the best of her ability. She shot little twinkles of light from her fingers like guns, then proceeded to spin and twirl around on the streetlight like a gymnast, light trailing behind her like a glow stick in the dark, striking pose after pose until her act devolved into swinging by her tail like a monkey, much to the aflutterflies' amusement. She finished the performance by striking a pose with her legs spread, hands grasping the beam, lights bursting all around her like fireworks.
"WOO-HOO!"
"THAT WAS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!"
"BRAVO! BRAVO! ENCORE!"
After blowing a lock of hair out of her face, Andromeda jumped down onto the sidewalk, gleefully beckoned her spectators to follow, then dashed back towards the main hub of the Plaza.
"HEY, WHERE YA GOING?!"
"DON'T STOP! WE WERE JUST GETTING STARTED!"

At the same time, Aether tapped into the elemental forces in and around her, slowly but surely expelling a cloud from her tiny form. The grey mist gathered and rose into the sky, growing into a dark storm cloud that turned the sky a dull, steel blue.
"UH-OH... IT GOT ALL DARK AND FOREBODING!"
"IS THAT A COOM-YOU-LOW-NIMBUS I SEE?"
"NO, I THINK THAT'S A CLOUD!"
Thunder cracked within the dark cloud, escalating into a cacophony of bangs and booms as more of Aether's clouds joined it. Soon enough, rain started pouring down on the city. Steam filled the Plaza as water met fire, slowly but surely extinguishing the rampant flames. Aflutterflies started hitting the ground as the droplets weighed down their wings, including the group that had followed a much-relieved Andromeda right into the trap.
"WELL, AIN'T THIS A PREDICAMENT!"
"LOOKS LIKE WE'RE ALL... WASHED UP!"
"HEHEH..." Mickey in particular has to chuckle at his current position. Sure, he was looking forward to a new adventure, but splashing around in puddles was a satisfactory consolation as far as his blissful self was considered. "I'VE BEEN WET PLENTY OF TIMES BEFORE, BUT THIS IS JUST RIDICALOUS!"

Nora briefly floated up. "Hey, this is actually working!" she thought, before getting dropped. "Never mind, That plan was a flop."
Picking herself back up, she soon paused, looking up as the massive cloud of rain appeared. And held an arm over her head as she became soaked to the bone in the heaviest supply of rain she'd ever seen. Looking around as the Aflutterflies started hitting the ground from all the water, she sighed in relief. "Well that's one way to calm them all down... But still..."
She looked at her friends playing in a puddle. "How do I make things better...?"

It was almost comical seeing the 4 females playing in the puddle. A perfect moment for blackmail or just to prove that this event actually happened.

Ness continued holding the barrier, doing his best to keep the two on a short leash. After all, if they broke loose there would be no doubt in anyone's mind this Epidemic would become something completely uncontrollable. He had to hold these two as long as he could-...!
.... Wait... Was it raining outside? But didn't birds and insects like.... WAIT...
"You know what? It's okay! Go ahead! It sounds like the others are having fun OUTSIDE!!!" With one quick flick of the wrist, he flung the bubble of PSI energy outside the barrier and letting it pop. Subjecting the two Aflutterflies to the rain. With them out of the way, Ness quickly focuses on his main barrier again.
COME ON, SOMEONE!! HURRY UP-!!!

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Complete and utter annoyance, that was perhaps the best and only way to describe Sal's mental state at this point in time... Well, that and UTTER RAGE as well. It had been one thing that the rain absolutely knocked out his wings, but since he'd been an ifrit before his transformation the rain was also succeeding in cooling his body down, so his body was reacting the only way it could at that moment; GET REALLY FUCKING ANGRY, turning up the temperature around the little afluttermoth not really shielding him from the rain but definitely keeping his body BOILING, which, for an Ifrit, was actually the SAFER thing to be. "SONNOVA BIIIII-ISCUIT EATER- AAAAAAAAGH-!!!!!! WHY CAN'T I FRICKIN CUSS?!!?!?!? THIS IS SUDDENLY THE WORST DEAL EVER BLAL:ASJHDG:ALJGHAWL:SJGHAE-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Didn't make him any less LOUD though.
Bonnie, whom was the exact opposite in that regard just grinned and chuckled as she enjoyed the rain, wet wings or not. "I dunno why you're complaining boss man~. It's a lovely rain! Hahahahaha~!" Peacock meanwhile was stuck in a puddle trying to get out so she could rejoin the others, consistently dogged by a few of the other aflutterflies all the while.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN I FIND THE IDIOTS THAT CAME UP WITH THE BRILLIANT IDEA OF RAIN I'M GOING TO RIP OFF THEIR TEENY TINY HEADS AND THEN FLOSS WITH THEIR SPINES-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I'M SIIIIINGIN' IN THE RAIN~" Sam chimed as he leaped from puddle to puddle. Never did it occur to him that he was so small that ne nearly drowned in the pools multiple times. Nor did the irony occur to him. "JUST SIIIIINGIN' IN THE RAIN~"
What irony, you ask? Tell me, what studio released Singin' in the Rain?
"WHAT A GLORIOUS FEELING~

"DID YOU EVER STOP BEING HAPPY?"

As the wave washed away, taking just about every aflutterfly in the vicinity with it, Patrick paused for a moment and faced the boy on the other side of the barrier, his soaking form shivering all the while. "D-D-Don't worry, p-pal! M-My friends are w-working on a c-c-cure! I-It'll b-b-be over s-s-s-soon..."
"HAHAHA...!" A dripping aflutterfly plopped down in the mud next to the mage's foot. "GOT A BIT OF A ST-ST-ST-ST-STUTTER GOING ON THERE, BUDDY?"
"Heheh... Yeah..." Patrick smiled as he watched a decent number of fairies pick themselves up, flap their wings until they were mostly dry, and continue their trek towards the ITS. A thought had crossed his mind and he wasn't about to pass up this opportunity. "You know why I have a st-st-stutter?"
"WHY'S THAT?"
"'Cause I'm the Scatman!"
Patrick then proceeded to dance around the ITS, pointing at the approaching aflutterflies one small bunch at a time, trapping them in blue light and flinging them away.

As he and his love hovered above the commotion, Paul squealed with absolute delight. "NO FRIGGIN' WAY! I LOVE THIS SONG!"
"THEN SHOW 'EM HOW IT'S DONE, STUD MUFFIN!" Kelsey insisted, shoving Paul forward. The dragon aflutterfly promptly began flying in circles above Patrick, scatting along in perfect harmony...

Patrick had to admit, he was having fun, and he was getting his job done effectively in the process. He didn't even notice his phone buzzing with a text from Evan.

"MORE LIKE DOUCHE-AY, AM I RIGHT? 'CAUSE WE'RE GONNA BE NEEDING SOME OF THOSE!" Mickey chuckled as he sauntered over to the four girls splashing around in the puddles nearby. "HELLOOOOO, LADIES! IS IT WET OUT HERE OR IS IT JUST YOU? HUH?"
Aether took a deep breath, smiling as she watched the chaos almost completely grind to a halt amidst the rain. "Thank goodness..."
Andromeda stood next to her companion, leaning on her knees and panting. After a while, she looked down at Aether with a nervous grin.
"We just have to keep this up until Swift, Evan and their friends return. I hope this rain will be sufficient until then." She quickly conjured another cloud, then another, spreading the storm further and further across the city. Exhausting as the process was, it was definitely effective at bringing the rampant swarm to a standstill.
Soon enough, all of Void City was thoroughly drenched and cloaked in grey. The fire was extinguished, the aflutterflies were grounded, and Aether was completely drained, collapsing in a soggy heap of blue fur. Andromeda was quick to pick up the little star jumper, cradling her and shielding her from the rain as best she could. Looked like they were both down for the count. All that was left to do was wait.

"Alright, gang..." Cat murmured as she fixed her latest invention atop the mall's roof. "Shall we do this like Brutus?"

That's when it hit her. "THAT'S IT!" Nora cried out. She twirled her hammer, making it into a rocket launcher before aiming it up.
A pink cloud burst from the barrel, a rocket flying high into the rain. "Let's see if I can gather those little guys in one spot..." A second rocket went up, colliding with the first as it began to peter down. A pink, fire-cracker-esque boom showered the area, loud as thunder with the sky briefly flashing pink.
The rain had swallowed up most of the aftermath, only the boom being heard. "Well crap," she groaned, dropping back to her knees. "There goes that idea..."

The four that had been on Nora were splashing about in a puddle seeing who could make the biggest splash. Surprisingly Weiss was winning.

BUT AS WE WENT OFF TO DO SHENANIGANS, A SUDDEN DOWNPOUR OF RAIN CAME IN AND I SUDdenly feel
like the miserable reality of my life has been restored.
Madison feel to the ground with a cartoony crashing noise, violin still in hand, hair soaked. "Huh? What's all this rain~? I know it was sunny before! Huh, what was I here for again...?"
