"Fan fiction has better love stories than that failed piece of literature," Blake offered.
"Twilight isn't literature," Ruby offered before laughing. "I know this scene is supposed to be serious but come on... bringing up later work just wrecks the moment."
Beth nodded.

Pommy soon bounced onto the bed, hopping over to her before jumping on Kelsey's lap. "Hi!" he cooed out.

"GAH!!!" Kelsey froze up when the little guy jumped on her, staring down at him like she had just seen a small animal get run over by a car. "Um... Hello."

Beth jumped and hovered for a few seconds. "Pommy. Be nice to Kelsey. She's probably had a long day..." the woman offered.

Pommy was now on the ceiling, shaking like a chihuahua. "Pommy WAS being nice," he admitted, popping off the ceiling before hitting the bed with a bounce. He seemed sad now, though. "Pommy's sorry, Pommy didn't mean to scare you..."

"I-It's okay..." Kelsey murmured, still somewhat shaken but clearly sorry that she had upset him. "Just caught me off guard, is all..."
She then looked up at the others and decided to just throw a random conversation topic out there. "So... tomorrow I was gonna head out and explore. Any points of interest you guys would suggest for a newcomer?"

"Well, The Mall is pretty cool... Um.... Mount Bonsai in the east," Ruby offered.
"I would stay away from the Industrial Park. That place gives me the willies," Beth admitted. "Pelican Boardwalk and the Painted Canyon are nice places to visit. IF you want to see a movie- downtown has a good theater even if it is a bit run down."
"Mount Bonsai was more of a plateau when I saw it last but the city at it's base is really nice," Black offered.

"Oh yeah, and there are these neat ruins located all over the island- all kinds of cool stuff could be in one of them!"

Hmm... Mountains, a canyon, a boardwalk, ruins, a city... an industrial park...? Kelsey had to wonder how much this island had to offer. "Sounds interesting."
As the movie started to wind to a close, Kelsey asked, "There wouldn't happen to be a grocery store nearby, would there? If I'm gonna be here for a while, I might as well stock up on meals."

"In the mall. It's a few shops down from my own store actually. Great selection of different foods from a lot of dimensions. Produce grown on the island over in the eastern part," Beth offered.

Pommy gave a small yawn, cuddling in.

"Well, that's good to know," Kelsey replied before stifling a small yawn.
After a prolonged silence that covered the rest of the movie, Kelsey let out a low, weary, almost morbid chuckle. "Really? No one's gonna ask me about the invisible demon that follows me around?"

"Wasn't going to press the issue. But if you are willing to tell us about Tri- we'll listen," Beth offered. "I know they're a strong entity and have a blood bond probably-from a pact- with you."

"Heh... It's alright," Kelsey murmured, lying down on her back and staring at the ceiling. "I just figured you guys oughta know if I'm... well, we're gonna stick around."
After a deep breath, she explained, "Yeah, Tri and I are linked through a blood pact. He grants me his power, I help him in places he can't normally reach. And I know how that may sound, but... truth be told, Tri's a nice guy, even if he is pretty aggravating eighty percent of the time. He recruited me to banish a ring of powerful archdemons from my universe, and... he... did save my life, so I figured I owed it to him."
