Yuugi and K1 were almost to the apartment complex. Neither of them had said much beyond a few formalities, such as Yuugi informing K1 that Minato had said he'd meet there there, and a rather large awkward silence was floating between them. Yuugi was trying to figure out something to say without hitting any sensitive points, and after last night's conversation there didn't seem anything to talk about.
Atem was respecting the silence. He and Yuugi had held a short conversation that morning before leaving the room and nothing new had come up. Yuugi was looking at his feet more than the area in front of him, and Atem did him the favor of keeping his eye open for Minato.

Contributing to the silence was K1's unwillingness to talk now. It was mostly over guilt about Midori, but part of it was because he felt he'd said too much the night before. Though, he had a feeling Yuugi would find out eventually. Still, keeping the cat in the bag for now would be best. Hopefully. Of course, saying things like that didn't ever help, either.
As it was, he was lost in thought. Mainly thinking about everyone back home. He was having the same concerns Midori had as it was. No one was supposed to escape the lockdown. If they did, they would have failed God's trial, and the whole world would be flooded again. Would K1's being sucked into this world be counted? And what about Midori's? It was all so confusing.

Minato showed up. Though he was usually a quiet one as well, he could sense the silence in the air as he walked over. As a result, he decided to take it upon himself to pierce the silence that lingered. "So... let's go look for your apartment then?" Minato asked Yuugi.

Yuugi tried to look cheerful, but his poker faces were known to fail as well as Atem's were to succeed. So his attempt at cheerful sounded more than a little forced, "Right! K1-kun says he needs an apartment too."
The teenager looked over at K1 and succeeded slightly more at putting on a smile. It wasn't that he minded not being told what K1 was hiding, it was that his relationship for K1 had taken a nosedive because of it. The blue haired teen had all but gone mute because of it.
It was actually getting on Atem's nerves. He could tell they were both trying to pick words carefully. And it seemed K1 had a similar problem with that to Yuugi. Better no words than the wrong ones.
"Partner, you ARE going to be okay, correct?"
"Yeah. I just don't deal well with awkward situations..." Yuugi thought to his other self.
Atem nodded, knowing any words now would only aggravate things. Yuugi turned to Minato, "So, where's the main office?"

K1 finally found his voice again. "Ah... yeah, I have no experience with this kinda thing..." Considering how crowded Tokyo was, this would possibly come as a shock to everyone else, especially with families who moved a lot. Truth was, he lived in Yokohama for most of the year, though it never came up in conversations. Most people just assumed he lived in Tokyo because he always went there for the summer. He typically didn't bother to correct them.
In any case, the teen still seemed rather depressed, or lost in thought or something.

Minato could feel the tension in the air and it began to bug him. What happened between them? he couldn't help but think as he looked at them with a concerned expression on his face. When Yuugi had asked him where to find the main office, however, Minato quickly came back to reality. "This way," he said and began leading Yuugi to the main room.

Yuugi didn't look Minato in the eyes after seeing the slight shift to a concerned expression. It had to be over the silence between him and K1. It didn't take Atem's level of observation to see that. As Minato walked to lead the way, Yuugi turned to K1. He couldn't deal with this anymore.
"I'm sorry if I said anything bad last night. You don't have to tell me about it, but could we at least start talking again...?"
Yuugi chose to wait for a response from K1 before following Minato. Atem was just glad Yuugi had finally taken the initiative.

K1 sighed. "It's not you, it's me. I said a lot of stuff I shouldn't have last night, and now... it's just awkward, that's all."
He looked to where Minato was heading, and followed after. As it was, K1 wasn't in the mood to talk anyways.

Minato heard them, but was unable to decipher much of what was being said. It must've been personal, so he decided not to worry too much about it. Coming up on the main office, he grinned softly. "Here we are... the manager's already inside. It's easy to order an apartment from him, so long as you have the money for it."

Yuugi nodded, "Thanks, Minato-kun. Oh, wait..." he turned to K1, "Um... you have money, right?"
The teen had full intentions of offering to share an apartment with K1 if it came to that. It wasn't anything to raise an eyebrow at, after all. Unless one's mind was stuck in a yaoi rut. Midori would have such a field day with these thoughts.
And Yuugi was even aware of that as he waited for K1's response. But he'd rather be teased than leave a friend on the street. And despite the recent tension, he didn consider K1 a friend.

K1 sighed. "No, all I've got is macca, and I don't think hotels take demon money." He pulled out his wallet, and showed Yuugi some slightly bloodstained bills with some weird language written on them instead of any Earth language. "I've got some yen left, but it's not much."
He suddenly realized what kind of situation he was setting himself up for. Midori would have a field day with this.

Minato listened to them and sweatdropped. K1 and Yuugi or K1 and Minato. Either way...
He heard a fangirl scream and nearly die of bloodloss from the nose to the side. Two doctors ran out and carried her on a stretcher. Minato just stood there, sweatdropping profusely at what he just witnessed.

Yuugi was about to comment on the blood-stained bills when he jumped from the squee. And by jumped I mean if it had been any more animated his feet would have literally left the ground. He jerked his head to the side, processed what had just happened, and stuttered out an attempted explanation.
"I-I know what... what this looks like," and the blush hit, "B-b-but I don't want you to not have anywhere to stay..."
Atem sighed. Way to make things awkward, Midori. Yuugi shook his head rapidly, actually succeeding at making the blush go away.
"I guess if it's too awkward... but do you have other options? I don't want you to get stuck out on the street," his voice stabalized a bit here. He was well aware of the potential problems it could cause. But he was also more aware of the truth and wasn't going to let fear of awkwardness relegat K1 to the street.

K1 sighed. "No, not really... Midori's probably going to need a new place to stay too, now that I think about it... knowing her, she probably spent all of her money at that convention she went to right before the lockdown started."
He looked between Yuugi and Minato. His options: -The guy with spiky hair whom Midori thought he had a thing for, as well as the same guy he'd been on a few (life-threatening) adventures with, and currently was having what could be described as "the morning after" situation with. -The guy with the emo hairstyle from a similar universe as him, who he quite honestly didn't know much about. Plus there was the whole "almost looking like his twin" part. Less of an awkward relationship at the moment, though that was most likely due to the whole "Being Abel's Reincarnation" thing having not come up yet (though the first time being due to K1's own big mouth and his really, REALLY bad lying skills)

"Ummm... not to sound brash or anything, but... if things get desperate, I could always throw morality to the wind and go beat Michael up for the money he'd need," Minato said. "I can do that so long as I drag him down using the spiritual strings he's attatched to me to... well you heard his puppetmaster speech already Yuugi."
