Issun wasn't very grateful at Teddie's actions, mainly because he felt he was very close to landing himself at least something nice from Ishizu. He would have been fine with being able to take a nap in her breasts or something, honestly!
"Hey, you're ruinin' all the fun, Blondie!" Issun called up to Teddie. "Bah, fine. Take her there for free. See if I care."
---------------
Souji was a little taken back at how calmly forceful Sayuri was being. She was reminding him a little of Yukiko at that, actually. He gave a nervous smile. "Okay, okay. I'll come."
He stood up from the bench. "You're going to have to lead the way, though... whatever it is, I can't get a firm lock on its location." Which was probably even more concerning to Sayuri, as it was pretty much impossible to not sense a being of that power, even from their location.
--------------
"What do you mean by alternate self? My Lord never told me of such things."
"Who's your 'Lord?'" Atsuro asked back. Why did Abel keep saying that? Atsuro couldn't think of anyone Abel would bow to. Abel was stronger than everyone, everyone except... Atsuro's face fell. "You... you took Amane's offer. Oh man. You took her offer."
"What are you saying?" Abel took another step closer.
"You became the Messiah... you're working for God now... oh man, oh shit."
"Atsuro, stop."
Atsuro gave what sounded like a squeak and stopped speaking, just as Abel had ordered him to. Amaterasu gave another snarl.
Haven't you done enough?!
"He has not explained himself," Abel said emotionlessly. "Atsuro. Explain yourself to me."
Atsuro opened his mouth, but he didn't seem able to find words. His mouth was dry, and every time he thought he had something, it flew away from him. He just did not know what to say in response to this Abel.

Teddie was quite unaware of what "fun" Issun was talking about. And any explanations Issun would have tried to give would have probably used the wrong terms for Teddie to get, despite the fact that once you got rid of the wording the two might not have been that far off interest wise.
Ishizu remained silent, not wanting to upset these people that could help her find her brother. After Teddie made sure Issun was stable back on his head, he gestured for Ishizu to follow and headed towards the practice tables.
----------
"But what about combos?"
Yuugi looked a little stressed. Atem was off to the side, as yet unnoticed by the crowds that had returned to talking to Yuugi. Whatever show and manga they hailed from, it was pretty apparent no one seemed to know what he looked like... and he wasn't sure he was ungrateful for that. He'd consider talking to Atsuro or Minato about it at a later date. He kept his focus on Yuugi as he leaned against a tree, making sure the situation didn'tget out of hand again.
"W-Well, those are important too. The balance of magic, trap, and monster cards. But what's most important is trusting in your cards!"
"You're not gonna spout some 'Heart of the Cards' bullshit, are you?" the kid frowned.
Yuugi grimaced. That had been what he was getting at, actually. Atem narrowed his eyes at the exchange, but Yuugi ran his hands through his bangs and shook his head, "You've just got to be sure to never give up, no matter how bleak things seem. The right card could come at any time!"
"It's not just the deck, you've got to have luck, too!" Jounouchi said. He appeared to be talking to other kids, "See, some cards require you to take a gamble! Some of my favorites are Devil's Dice, Angel's Dice, and Time Magician!"
"Have you ever actually won a tournament...?" An unimpressed kid asked.
Jounouchi blanched, "H-hey! Everyone loses sometimes!"
"They're right here!" Teddie said.
Atem's eyes widened and he was instantly not leaning when he saw who Teddie was leading towards the group. It wasn't who he'd seen before, but... this marked a second confirmation of someone that hadn't even been in Egypt showing up on the Island. It had hit far too much to be coincidence, which meant... he hadn't been seeing things.
The former Pharaoh's reaction caught Yuugi's attention, and his head turned to where Atem's gaze was focused. His eyes widened as well. He hadn't expected to see Ishizu of all people! And Malik was who knew where... and his evil personality had resurfaced. He'd have to tell her. The short teenager muttered a few quick apologies to the crowd and slipped past, running up to where Teddie had reached.
"Ishizu-san! What are you doing here?!" Yuugi asked.
Atem came up beside Yuugi and gave a nod, "First time meeting like this, Ishizu."
Ishizu had stopped when she saw Atem. There was no doubt. That had to be the Nameless Pharaoh, but why he had his own body was beyond her. She gave a rather deep bow, a clear indication of her opinion of status differences. Atem frowned at it.
"Pharaoh, you have your own body..." Ishizu straightened up, "How did that happen...?"
----------
Sayuri wished she could blame it on this shrine not being Izanagi's, but she knew that was the kind of rationalization even a human would be hard pressed to believe. There was something wrong here, something she was going to have to look into. It bothered her more than she would show, as well. Things had stabilized with Izanagi and now... she fell into step beside him. She knew where the energy was, but she wanted to keep an eye on him.
They were looping around the main area of the Shrine where the main crowd of the festival was at, causing them to skirt near the honden. She wasn't sure why, but she felt the need to turn. A pulse of unknown power...? She blinked when she saw the blue haired boy, Nyx' former avatar, and a dog she wasn't familiar with. She glanced towards Souji, who was all but sleepwalking. She'd have to leave him with them.
"Over here!" she lifted a hand so that she could be seen.
----------
- "Adil-kun, what being wrong with Atsuro-kun?" -
Anzu and Adil had seperated themselves from where Yuugi, Jounouchi, and Atem were had. Initially they'd headed out with Honda, but he'd split off on his own to go find Teddie and Issun. The truth was he'd felt like a third wheel, but he'd made up some excuse Anzu had seemed to buy. Adil and Anzu were sitting on a bench, and Anzu had broken the kind of tired silence. Adil looked at her and frowned.
- "It's nothing more than depression. I'm sure with friends like you and your friends, he'll be alright. He's not stupid." -
Anzu pursed her lips, - "You are not telling me something! Is he sick? And how come you knew when Yuugi didn't? He's really good at telling when something is wrong with his friends!" -
Adil gave a nervous chuckle, - "I'm good at reading people... I always have been, " - he gave a shrug, - "No one's ever been able to lie to me. It isn't that Mutou-san is a bad friend, it's just I tend to be able to read motivations. I judge people well." -
Which still didn't answer her base question. She was quite positive something more was wrong with Atsuro than anyone wanted to tell her. Were people trying to protect her? She didn't need that! Mai would have beaten some sense into the guys, but she'd never been very good at that. She pushed herself to her feet and extended a hand to Adil to help him up when she froze.
A few feet away from her gaze, an old man seemed to be harassing some girls her age. If it had been just any old man, she might have facepalmed and given him a piece of her mind. But she recognized that short old man, although she didn't have the slightest idea why he was here. Adil was looking at her with a puzzled expression when she cupped her hands and gave a shout.
"Jiisan, leave those girls alone! What would Yuugi think?!"
If she was wrong she was going to be unbelievably embarassed.

Issun remained resting in Teddie's hair until the three of them reached where Yuugi-tachi seemed to be trying to help people learn how to play. Issun wasn't really familiar with a lot of card games, mainly due to being way too small to play any, so he didn't really find it that fascinating. He looked up over the strands of Teddie's hair again once Yuugi and Atem ran over, though. For once, the Poncle decided to stay out of the conversation. He tugged on Teddie's hair. "Hey, pass me a takoyaki," Issun called. "I'm still starving up here!"
------------------
Minato had been in his head for the most part since they'd left the honden. Honestly, he wasn't sure if leaving the honden had been the best idea after all. He couldn't shake a nagging feeling that he had to go back, but at the same time, he'd gotten a weird feeling from the place.
Minato was surprised to see Sayuri and Souji stopped nearby, and started walking toward the two of them. As he got close, Minato managed to get a better look at Souji, and he didn't like what he saw. It had been such a short period of time, but he already looked worse than before... Just how close was Souji to completely shutting down?
"There you guys are! We've been looking for you," Minato said.
"Is that so?" Souji frowned, and looked toward Ryoji. "How come?"
------------------
Despite the agonizing seconds that passed, Atsuro still could not find words. The longer Atsuro took to speak, the more annoyed this Abel appeared to get. The worst part for Atsuro was that he didn't think Abel was truly angry at him... but that didn't do anything for his nervousness.
"Atsuro, I am ordering you to explain yourself. You will have to be punished if you do not do so."
Atsuro broke eye contact with Abel and he seemed to be holding back tears. "I'm not your Atsuro! I-I think you're an Abel from another world, that has to be the only explanation! My world's Abel rebelled against God, and I followed him! B-But I'm not with him anymore! That's all I know!"
Abel's eyes widened. "Another Abel?! You served another Abel?!" He appeared to be getting angry, and then, without warning, the anger just faded away. The mood swings again. This Abel had the mood swings too. Atsuro did not want to be here right now, but any wish he had to run was being forced down by whatever logical processes that were getting through to him. If he ran, he wouldn't be able to get far enough away.
"I was only sticking to what I'd always said! I told you I'd stay by you no matter what and I meant it, K1!"
Abel hesitated, and for a moment Atsuro saw the eyes of the human he'd once known behind those lifeless irises. It passed, and Abel reached his hand toward his waist. Atsuro already knew what he was reaching for before the man drew his blade.
"...I do not understand this myself, but if what you say is true, then you rebelled against my Lord. Such a thing is punishable by death, former friend or no."
No!
Amaterasu gave a snarl, and suddenly, that space of the shrine filled with an otherworldly fog. When it cleared, Amaterasu was standing in front of Atsuro once more, but instead of a flaming disc on her back, there was a long rosary curled around her neck. Part of the rosary had detached and wrapped itself around the arm Abel's blade was grasped in.
I will not allow this human to die, however much he wishes to! Leave this place now!

(OOC: Yay two foreign language markers! The ones at the bottom are speaking Arabic, not Ancient Egyptian. XD)
Teddie winced as Issun yanked up on his hair. That hurt a bit! He looked up without tilting his head and caught the edge of Issun's hat out of the corner of his eye. He blinked as Issun demanded a piece of food. Despite carrying it, Teddie had completely forgotten about it. And he wasn't going to pass a piece of gooey batter onto his head! He did, however, open the lid of the top box and gestured to it. Most of his attention was on the conversation between Yuugi, Atem, and Ishizu, though.
"My name is Atem," Atem said with a frown.
Ishizu straightened up, "You remembered your name!"
"I remembered everything," Atem said, "As for why I have my body back, I made a decision."
"What are you doing here, Ishizu-san?" Yuugi asked, "How did you get here? I know Malik was caught up in-"
"Then you have seen him!" Ishizu interuppted.
Yuugi winced and gave a nervous look towards Atem, "Y-yeah... We don't know where he is now, though... Ishizu-san, his other self came back... and he wants to kill Atem again..."
Ishizu looked startled, "Wh-what...?"
"Yuugi, what are yo- Ishizu?!" Jounouchi had finally noticed the shift in crowds, and looked shocked at seeing the woman, "How the heck did you get here?!"
----------
Ryoji looked like a deer caught in headlights as Souji addressed him, not Minato. Why had he picked him?! Minato lied better than he did! He looked to the side, one of the more common traits of someone unused to lying, and rubbed the back of his head.
"Ah... Minato had something he wanted to ask you about..." Ryoji had a hard time not mumbling.
Sayuri wanted to make sure Souji would be alright with his friends. The fact was she'd never liked them much, and even now she knew it would be hard to get past the (completely justified if you asked her) actions from before. So she remained standing where she was, and intended on doing so the whole time... when she felt a surge of power originating within her own pantheon. Amaterasu.
She jerked her head to the side. Amaterasu did pay attention to things such as the sanctity of shrines. And she put those before almost anything else. If she was flexing her powers in one, something had gone south. And given the energy Sayuri had felt before...
"Souji-san, I am sorry but I have to go. You three, please watch over him," she said with a quick bow. She was running in the direction of the energy flare before anyone could object.
----------
Sugoroku blinked at the familiar voice, and he completely forgot about the teenage girls he had been hitting on half a second earlier. That was Anzu, and if there was Anzu his grandson was sure to be nearby. After all, he'd heard about this event. He spun around and Anzu realized with a start that the old man looked like he hadn't slept in a week. And his eyes looked vaguely red... had he been crying?
"Jiisan..."
"Anzu! Is Yuugi with you?"
Adil looked between Anzu and Sugoroku a few times. Anzu had called him... he didn't know the word, unfortunately, but it seemed a term of familiarity. He noted the man's bangs, they looked rather similar to Yuugi's, and he'd caught Yuugi's name from the old man. Were they related...?
----------
- "Hey, finish your turn!" -
A teenager with long red hair jerked his head back to the younger teenager at the opposite end of the table. That surge of power... something was going on at the other end of the Shrine. He looked down at the cards in his hand and frowned. There was only one chance to end this...
- "Not finished. Pot of Greed playing," -
The kid across from the red haired teenager frowned. The guy had went and gotten distracted for like three minutes and now he was using that card after he attacked. He didn't have anything that could stop it, but he was clearly annoyed. His opponent drew two cards and a rather smug grin spread on his face. Suddenly the younger teenager felt very nervous, and he'd been doing rather good even with the red headed teenager's strong deck. He looked down at the cards on his opponent's field and blanched.
- "You didn't..." -
The red haired teenager turned around one of the cards he'd drawn with one hand, showing a red tinged card with what appeared to be a silver version of one of the infamous god cards, spitting out a beam of black fire. The text was Arabic, but the kid could still read the LV8. The red haired teenager's active monster had defeated one of his monsters that turn due to a combo, meaning...
- "Special Summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon, LV8." -
The younger teenager's hands tightened on his cards. He'd used all of his best combos just getting up to this point, and he'd intended on taking care of the L6 Horus on his next turn. But with the ATK/DEF of the LV8... he was pretty much screwed.
- "Turn End," - the red haired teenager said. It was unlikely his opponent could recover.
----------
~ "Asim, wait." ~
Asim had taken a step forward when Haytham had spoken. He turned towards the blond teenager with a questioning look. Haytham stepped forward and shook his head.
~ "At that power level, we should wait. I don't think Atem is in danger. Besides, this might be what we need to draw out the others." ~

Issun grinned and jumped down into the box upon Teddie gesturing to it. While the bear was paying more attention to the conversation at hand than the food, Issun was doing the opposite, and seemed perfectly content with that. Upon jumping down into the box, he placed one hand on his blade, and seemed to concentrate before drawing the blade and slashing it three times in the air. The blade left ink trails as Issun slashed it. The ink hovered in the air before turning into some sort of phantom wind and slashing through a takoyaki ball, cutting it into three even slices without Issun even needing to touch it. If Teddie was watching incredibly closely (which he likely wasn't), he might have seen the phantom image of a rat carrying a blade slice through the takoyaki. He repeated the process until the takoyaki was in pieces small enough for Issun to eat it himself. He sat down in the box and got to eating, listening to the conversation at hand as he ate.
-------------------
Souji narrowed his eyes. In truth, the reason he'd asked Ryoji was because he knew Ryoji wasn't as good of a liar. Minato had been acting oddly around Souji lately, and Souji hadn't missed how Minato had been watching him today. He was getting the distinct feeling that Minato was hiding something from him.
Before Souji could ask Minato about what he wanted to ask him, Sayuri very quickly stated that she had to go. Minato narrowed his eyes at Sayuri's request. She was telling them to watch over him. And with Souji's apparent condition... it was obvious Sayuri was concerned. She ran off before any of them could say anything, though.
"...Where is she going?" Minato asked.
"She said she sensed something powerful enter the shrine. Something must have happened," Souji said. He shook his head. "She can handle it. Besides, if we're lucky, it might end up being Osiris' avatar."
-------------------
Abel attempted to move his arm, and found that was impossible due to the rosary wrapped around his arm. Not only that, but it appeared to be bladed and was managing to cut into his arm. And judging by the flower petals forming around his wounds, it was trying to purify him as well. It would appear this kami did not discriminate between different youkai, even when it was a being as powerful as he was.
Which was why Abel threw his arm to the side, breaking the rosary into pieces. A trail of ink appeared in front of Abel the moment he broke the rosary, and then a lightning bolt flew from the sky and struck him, sending up a cloud of dust. Amaterasu stood there snarling, and as she stood there, the broken beads of the rosary lifted up and returned to the string around her neck.
Izanami-obaasan... This is your shrine! Get down here and drive this demon away before he kills this human! Amaterasu snarled out.
Atsuro was wondering why he wasn't running. Was it panic? Or did he know it would just be easier if Abel killed him? The dust quickly cleared, and his eyes widened as he saw that Abel didn't even have a scratch on him. And not only that, but there were several glowing white blades of energy around his body. He was still in human form. Abel gave a chuckle.
"...a wolf who can control the elements and fights with the three great treasures. I see... you're no average kami," Abel said. "But you do not belong in this world, even if this world is not of my jurisdiction. I will erase you along with Atsuro if you do not stand down."

Teddie wasn't paying any attention at all to Issun, instead watching the conversation going on between Yuugi's group and Ishizu. He supposed he'd heard that, but he'd always known them as two seperate people. Apparently Ishizu had known them differently.
Ishizu, in an uncharacteristic (but rather justifiable) case of rudeness, didn't even acknowledge Jounouchi. She took a quick step forward towards Atem, worry in her eyes. The former Pharaoh found himself wincing. Those eyes... they were like Isis' had been with worry over Mahad. Who had turned up dead before they could meet again. He thought with inward bitter humor that if Ishizu's name were to be written in katakana, it could be romanized as Isis' was.
"Is he alright? Is his evil personality in control? The last I saw of him I thought he'd been crushed by a rock in that cave in!"
Atem lifted his hands and put them around Ishizu's, who had lifted them to her breast in her worry. Yuugi often forgot just how adult Atem could be, but he remembered now from the look in the former Pharaoh's eyes. Ishizu looked startled at the gesture, and Atem spoke in an even and mature voice.
"Ishizu, he wouldn't let himself be hurt. The last we saw him his normal personality was in control. And no matter how much he hates me for my decisions, he'd never hate you. So please, relax."
----------
Ryoji looked doubtful at Souji's comment, but was grateful the attention had been turned from him. Souji hadn't bought it for a second. He looked towards where Izanami had gone, and considered asking further about the situation... but that would be dodging something that had to be faced. He looked back at Minato as if to urge him to ask the question they'd looked for Souji to ask... concealed motives and all.
----------
- "Horus the Black Flame Dragon, attack." -
The younger teenager ended up putting his free palm to his head. With that attack, the middle-eastern man had won the Duel. He sighed and gathered his cards together, putting them back in his deck case. He paused and looked up... only to find that the red haired teenager had already gathered his and was running off.
- "H-hey, show some sportsmanship! Asshole..." -
----------
"H-he's here in the Shrine! How did you get here?! Mokuba-kun said the Torque brought him here but how did you get here?!"
Sugoroku shook his head, "I don't know, but is Yuugi okay? With that cave-in and then... Mokuba's alright?!"
Adil was on his feet now. There was a lot of panicked and yet relieved sounding shouting coming fom the two... Yuugi's name had come up again from the old man. He was pretty sure now they were related, and the old man was worried about him.
----------
Faisal had been closer to the isolated front area of the shrine that Abel and Amaterasu were fighting. So he got there before Izanami, practically bursting out of an area of dense trees, panting as he came onto the scene. He was grateful that card had come out when it had, he really saw the need to come here... and when he saw the demon standing across the goddess in wolf avatar, he had a feeling he knew why.
Atsuro would probably just be aware that yet another Egyptian had shown up. One that looked pissed as soon as he saw this Abel. Abel, on the other hand, would know a powerful god had shown up. Unfortunately this Abel had never met this god in any form, so he wouldn't recognize the energy signature the way the one from Atsuro's world might have. Faisal, or that is to say, Osiris stepped forward. The energy flaring around him was enough that there seemed to be a wind swirling around him and his yellow eyes were glowing.
* "Scion of the Hebrew God, your intolerance is not welcome in a place like this..." *

Issun frowned at the conversation as it continued. So Ishizu was related to Malik in some way. Judging by their similar appearances, they were probably brother and sister. Some messed up family they had, if that was the case. He was just picking up another piece of takoyaki when Atem went up to Ishizu and put his hands on hers. That was an amazing show of kindness. Not wanting to be outdone, Issun put down the piece of takoyaki and lept out of the box and onto Ishizu's shoulder again.
"You'll give yourself wrinkles if you keep frowning like that," Issun said. "Atem's right, this Malik guy's gotta be fine. And I dunno much about you and him, but you just got here, right? There's no way he's mad at you."
--------------------
Minato caught Ryoji's gaze, and turned back toward Souji. "...Hey Souji, do you know where an entrance to the Velvet Room would be?"
Souji blinked. The question seemed a bit out of left field, and Souji had quite honestly thought Minato knew where the entrance to the Velvet Room was. "...Why are you asking?"
"I had something I wanted to ask Igor about," Minato said flawlessly. It was the truth, but not the whole truth. He couldn't tell Souji what he was suspecting until he was totally sure, after all. Souji raised an eyebrow, and it was clear he didn't really believe Minato.
"If I remember right, There's an entrance in one of the alleys nearby the main Plaza back in Void City," Souji frowned as he said that. He was having a hard time remembering things like that ever since he'd merged with Izanagi.
-----------------
The whole time Atsuro, Amaterasu, and Abel were having their confrontation, no one had come near. Atsuro didn't know if the humans at this festival were just having an instinctual reaction or if it was something else, but no one else had come. So when a human man, and an Egyptian at that, came through the woods to where the three of them were, Atsuro noticed him rather quickly. And he saw that the man looked pissed at Abel. The pieces fell rather quickly into piece once the man's eyes glowed.
"...you're Osiris," Atsuro breathed. Abel turned and actually glared at Faisal. For now, he seemed to be ignoring Amaterasu.
* "The fact that you know this language means you are not as human as your frame suggests, and that you should be some kind of demon under my control," * Abel spat. * "I am tired of divine interventions. Do not force me to exert my power over you, heathen spirit." It was at that that his eyes barely glanced toward Amaterasu. * "And that goes for you too, wolf." *

Ishizu really did seem surprised by Atem's reaction, but it faded to a sad gratefulness quickly. Of course, he was Pharaoh, he would take charge this well. She was nodding at him just as Issun jumped onto her shoulder. She jerked a bit in surprise (alone a sign of how frazzled Ishizu was to those that knew her) as she turned towards him and gave an anguished smile towards him as well.
"I don't think Malik was ever mad at me. His evil personality, perhaps, but he hates the entire world..." she looked back towards Atem, "I never fully understood his motivations for wanting you dead, although I can assume he holds you responsible for the duty of our family, but why would those wishes return?"
Atem took his hands off Ishizu's, "I've closed off the route to the Land of the Dead to myself. This body is a sign of choosing this life over my previous. Malik feels that decision wasted the suffering of the Ishtar clan."
----------
Ryoji looked as if he relaxed a little at Souji's words. He did note the frown, but he said nothing of it. He looked towards Minato with a slight smile.
"I told you Souji could help us with that. Did you want to go right now?"
His worry over Souji and something he didn't even think could be stopped prevented him from realizing that cutting the festival might make Souji more suspicious.
----------
"He showed up looking for Kaiba-kun, they're together now. Come on, Jiisan, Yuugi's been worried about you too!" She paused as she spun around, catching Adil. She looked embarassed, - "Sorry, Adil-kun. This Yuugi grandfather, likely very worried about Yuugi. You wanting come?" -
Adil smiled and shook his head, - "I wouldn't want to get in the way of a family reunion. Giving what you've told me about showing up here, the poor man is probably worried Yuugi-kun got crushed. Go ahead, we can meet up later if you want." - ----------
Faisal looked to the side as Atsuro as he gasped out his observation. He wasn't sure how the human knew that, but he was right. He returned his focus to the far more important matter at hand. Abel was still glaring at him. He raised an eyebrow and gave a frown at Abel's implication. Demon? Under his control? The only one with any claim to his power was the Pharaoh of the forgotten dynasty of Ancient Egypt, certainly not some Hebrew demon.
* "I am Osiris, guardian and god of the Land of the Dead. I would never bow to you or your God, and the implication is insulting," * Faisal showed no signs of dropping his power flare. He walked next to Amaterasu. Given the human's reactions, it seemed likely this Hebrew demon had been preparing to kill him. He didn't know why, and he didn't really care. He did recognize the synergy the wolf had with the area, indicating this holy ground was related to her in some fashion, * "You are not welcome here, even by those that belong on this holy ground. This is not a place to fight, your lack of respect for that defies even the beliefs of your people." *
----------
Haytham reacted with a rare moment of surprise as Sayuri shot past him. He jerked up from the tree he was leaning against. Asim was on guard for something, but relaxed when he saw Haytham calm down. The blond looked at Asim for a moment, a calm concern present in his eyes.
~ "Osiris flaired his energy and now the patron goddess of this shrine is investigating...." ~ Haytham said. Asim gave a quick nod in response and turned to where she had gone. Haytham stepped forward, ~ "We shouldn't rush into things, but I'm not sure I feel comfortable leaving it for much longer... This may be larger than I realized." ~

Issun frowned at Atem's explanation. So this Malik guy was pissed because spiky-hair was alive. Now that Issun thought about it, he'd heard something about Atem's decision causing issues with those Millennium Items, too. If they were kept together, they would summon back some demon...
He found his thoughts drifting to Amaterasu at that thought. He didn't think she was in any trouble, but he didn't see her or that Atsuro kid anywhere nearby.
----------------------
Now Souji was even more suspicious. What was so urgent that Minato would need to go to the Velvet Room right now? However, Minato shook his head.
"Let's go after the festival. Besides, you've never actually gotten to experience one of these. You should have some fun for once," Minato said with a grin. "At the very least, you should buy an omikuji."
Souji frowned and decided to pass it off for now. He looked to the side and seemed to be pondering something. "I wonder if I should have dressed up for today..."
--------------------
Abel followed Faisal with his eyes as the man moved next to Amaterasu. He continued his glare as the man berated him. How dare he state that he was not under his control. Abel was the Messiah of all mankind; he held dominance over all spirits, especially those of those damnable desert people.
* "My Lord holds dominance over all peoples, and I am His loyal servant! I am only following His wishes, and His wishes are that all who fight against Him are to be erased," * Abel snarled. * "And as the Messiah and complete manifestation of the power of Bel, all but my Lord bow to me! Do not make me repeat my words, Egyptian heathen!" *
Abel began to flare his energy, but at the same time, he did not act. In fact, he couldn't act. His Lord hadn't given him permission to.
Atsuro didn't know what was going on. Abel and the Egyptian were talking but he couldn't understand a word of what it was. He could actually hear it, likely a benefit of being around so many spiritual beings for such a long time, but it was faint and he couldn't understand it. The syntax and words being used were a far cry from the Infernal language demons used. Amaterasu turned toward Atsuro.
If you value your life, you'll run now.
"I...."
Remember Adil's words, Atsuro!
It was only then that Atsuro finally got his shaking legs to move. He ran, as fast as he could, into the woods. Abel turned to run after him, but Amaterasu jumped into his path again.

Ishizu blinked in surprise. From the little bit of interaction she'd had with the Pharaoh, she hadn't thought he'd make such a choice. She hadn't thought Malik had borne that hatred like that... she closed her eyes and looked away. She could never understand, she knew that well. He'd put on a smile after the procedure, but...
"Are you going to look for him...?" Yuugi asked.
Ishizu turned back towards Yuugi. If Malik's evil side was back, it would be foolish to do so. Then again... she felt she needed to. She looked at the Pendant around Yuugi's neck and opened her mouth to respond when a voice cut her off.
"Yuugi!"
Yuugi's eyes almost popped out of his socket and he almost tripped as he spun around. Atem lost the cool he'd gained in the interactions and mirrored Yuugi's reactions, although it was far more muted. Jounouchi's head popped up in surprise. Yuugi was the only one to get any words out, although Atem seemed to have gained a deep and worried frown. Teddie had turned towards where everyone was staring, as did Ishizu.
"Jiichan?!"
----------
Ryoji gave a start at Minato's answer, almost as if he hadn't expected it. He gave a smile and nodded. It was easy to forget things like that. He looked back towards Souji, his grin more sincere now. He seemed to have picked up on the line of questioning being dropped.
"I don't think any of us did, so it's nothing to worry about. I think Izanami wanted us to watch you though, so you should come with us. Right, Minato?"
----------
Adil was walking back to the main area of the shrine when he felt a pair of eyes on him. He was... feeling that a lot lately. He stopped and looked, half expecting to not see anything as usual... when he saw the blond Egyptian from before. He blinked. Was the guy stalking him...? There was someone else there this time, too. The blond frowned.
~ "Ignorance is bliss, isn't it?" ~
Adil gave a nervous smile, ~ "I... don't think I understand." ~
Haytham shook his head, ~ "You'll realize when you have to. Asim, come on. I'm not comfortable leaving him by himself anymore. We'll leave this in his hands."~
----------
Faisal narrowed his eyes (which still glowed) as Abel flared his energy. He prepared for a fight because the man obviously didn't intend on backing down. Especially with the continued insults. Faisal was willing to let the man turn around and walk away, although he had no idea about the goddess' motivations. But if the man was going to push it...
And then he realized something. The glow faded from his eyes and he gave an incredulous look towards Abel as Atsuro ran off. Was it possible, was he really? Faisal glanced at Amaterasu as she cut Abel off.
* "Wait!" * Faisal said to Amaterasu. He looked at Abel, * "He won't attack, or he won't make the first strike, at least... Why are you bluffing..." * His comment ended on a suspicious note.

Issun had a pained expression at Yuugi's question. He didn't think it was... well, proper for someone like Ishizu to run off and look for her possibly psycho brother like this. After all, the guy hated everyone when in his evil personality. In fact, he'd just been about to voice that opinion when someone called out Yuugi's name.
Everyone in their group turned toward the voice, and there was a universal expression of surprise among the group. Issun didn't seem to get it, though.
"Whaa? Who's this old timer?"
---------------
Minato nodded, and smiled at Souji. Souji groaned. "Come on guys, you don't have to watch me that closely..."
"Oh, shut up. You need to live it up too, Souji," Minato said. "Today's your birthday, isn't it? You should be celebrating this more than the rest of us are."
"...It's not a big deal, really," Souji said, but Minato had already started walking toward the main festival area again. Souji sighed and followed after.
-------------------
Amaterasu first looked confused at Faisal's words. Demons never waited for someone else to strike first. They always attacked others first. But when she looked toward Abel again, she realized Faisal was right. The spell he had up was chiefly defensive, and he'd only put it up in response to her own attack. And even then, the man hadn't attacked back. Had he been bluffing when he'd said he was going to attack Atsuro before? He hadn't seemed to have been...
Abel narrowed his eyes into an even deeper glare at Faisal's words. The man had caught his bluff. His words were practically an animalistic snarl as he spoke again.
* "My Lord has not given me permission to strike yet." * He shifted uncomfortably. He wanted to kill these people, he wanted to spill their blood... and now that Abel thought about it, that was probably why his Lord would not allow him to use his power. He was allowing his instincts to instruct him, not his enlightened mind.
---------------------
Atsuro ran as far and fast as he could to get away from Abel. He was sure he was deep within the shrine's grounds at this point, but he still didn't stop running. There were tears streaming from his face. He should have stayed. He should have let Abel just kill him there. Why was that Abel even here?! Even with everything Atsuro knew, he couldn't help but think that God had specifically set this up to torture him.
He suddenly found himself running into someone, and fell to the ground. He winced and pushed himself up with his hands before falling back again from shock. The man before him was once again familiar to Atsuro.
"Y-You're..." Atsuro breathed. The man he'd run into had been Pegasus J. Crawford.

Teddie was quite a bit more direct than Issun in regards to the new arrival, "Who are you?"
Sugoroku didn't even see him. He was running as best he could (it looked rather funny, really) towards Yuugi, and the short teenager found himself startled by the way the old man almost crushed him in a hug. Jounouchi was still just sort of hanging where he'd looked up, blinking. Atem was looking around, and it could be misinterpreted as trying to not interfere between the old man and Yuugi. In truth, he was trying to see if he could see who he'd spotted earlier.
"Jiichan, I can't breath!"
Sugoroku gave a startled look and stepped back from Yuugi, who took in a deep lungful of air. The old man was actually crying, "Yuugi, I was so worried about you! Ishizu said a cave had collapsed on top of you but then no one could find you! Mokuba disappeared then and... I'm just glad you're okay!"
Yuugi's expression was relieved despite his words, "You didn't have to worry so much, Jiichan..."
"Ishizu-san, what are you doing here?!" Anzu asked, just noticing the Egyptian woman.
----------
"M-Minato, wait up!" Ryoji said. He gave a shrug towards Souji that more or less indicated that Minato had made up his mind and they would just have to follow. He didn't head after the blue haired teenager until Souji walked forward though.
When Minato came out of the side area, he'd see Honda pretty much standing there looking lost. The brown haired teenager had tried to find Yuugi and the others again, but there were an awful lot of crowds wandering around...
----------
Faisal didn't seem all that upset by the explanation of why Abel wasn't attacking. That did make a sort of sense, really. However, it still didn't change the fact that he was upsetting the energies of this sacred ground. He shook his head and was about to once again tell Abel to leave when a miko burst through the bushes behind Abel. Faisal's eyes widened. The god who resonated with this area, the local protector, was here. This was her shrine, he could tell by the energy interplay.
"What do you think you're doing on this sacred ground?!" Sayuri demanded.
----------
Pegasus had been laying low the entire time. He was pretty sure one of Yuugi's group had almost seen him, but the lack of attention following that made it seem unlikely. He didn't recognize that fellow, he had to admit, but he'd seen Yuugi with him. He'd actually been seeing if he could find Kaiba at the moment when someone crashed into him.
The American had almost lost his balance, having to catch himself on a tree and turned around with a startled expression. His hair concealed the left half of his face, although the way it leaned after he'd almost fallen would reveal an empty eye socket to anyone paying close attention. He blinked when he saw a Japanese teenager on the ground stutter some kind of recognition out. Pegasus adjusted his hair so that it better concealed his face and walked over, leaning over and offering his hand out to Atsuro.
"You should watch where you are going, desu," the man said in somewhat stilted Japanese. Pronunciation was pretty good, though, "Are kimi alright?"
(OOC: EXPLANATION OF PEGASUS SPEAK. Gratuitious Japanese (like kimi) is gratuitious English, cause the basic assumption is that he is speaking Japanese. In the cases of untranslatables such as "desu", it is meant to imply a not quite proper usage. Kimi in this context means "you".)

Issun managed to gain an understanding of what was going on from the situation at hand. The geezer was Yuugi's grandpa, he'd gotten worried, gone looking for him, come to the island... no wonder the guy had gotten freaked out. They'd thought Yuugi'd died in a cave in!
"She bought us takoyaki!" Issun said. "She said she knew you guys, so we brought her here... looks like she was right."
----------------
Upon exiting the side area, the first thing Minato saw was Honda, wandering around. The man seemed to be trying to find someone... had he gotten separated from the others? Souji walked up just as Minato was approaching Honda.
"Hey, Honda! Are you lost or something?" Minato asked.
-----------------
Abel very slowly turned his head toward Sayuri as she broke through the bushes behind him. He could tell from the way her energy resonated with this land that she was the god of this shrine. A god masquerading as a miko... well, it wouldn't be the first time. He gave a deep breath, and his face became calm again.
"I just arrived here," Abel said, quite calmly. "I was sent here, and I saw someone I recognized."
He wanted to execute Atsuro, Izanami-obaasan! Amaterasu snarled out to Sayuri. She hoped her aunt would remember the human from the Fall. Abel turned back toward Amaterasu with that same flat look.
"I still do not understand why you care so much, wolf. He is a demon-tainted man. A goddess such as yourself should understand why he should die," Abel said. He turned toward Sayuri. "So you're Izanami? How... interesting. You're supposed to be trapped in Yomi, last I heard."
He was making small talk. He couldn't lower his bloodlust, but maybe if his Lord saw that he could keep himself calm... no, He knew what Abel was thinking at all times. He wouldn't give him permission until he was totally calm.
----------------
Atsuro nearly took the man's hand. Nearly, because Pegasus' words made him double take. He raised a disbelieving eyebrow. He'd caught that first sentence, though there had been an English word thrown in there. Actually, this guy was speaking with a lot of English. Had Pegasus done that before? Atsuro couldn't quite remember.
"Um.... repeat that please, sir? And with... less English? I-If that's alright..." Atsuro said. He did take the man's hand after saying that, though.

"How is Shizuka?!" Jounouchi had finally extracated himself out of the crowd, and the force in which he asked his question pretty much startled everyone. There was an uncharacteristically fierce look in Jounouchi's eyes as well, "She's still with mom, right? Tell me she's still with mom!"
Yuugi blinked and looked down, rubbing the back of his head at Jounouchi's reaction. The tall blond hadn't really mentioned Shizuka much after his initial worry upon arrival, but it made sense he'd be worried about her. As for the second half of his question, Anzu winced over it as well. They'd... well, they hadn't exactly met the man but they knew enough about his drunken father to guess why he'd ask it.
Sugoroku looked up at Jounouchi and frowned, "She's worried... but I don't think her living arrangements have changed. Pegasus said he'd gotten everyone contacted before he vanished and-"
"Pegasus vanished?" Atem cut Sugoroku off.
The old man looked up at Atem and his eyes practically bugged out of his head. He pointed straight at Atem, "You're the Pharaoh!"
----------
Honda jerked his head up as he saw Minato, Koromaru, and then Ryoji and Souji come out of the forest near where he was standing. He gave a nervous smile and shook his head.
"Nah, I wandered off from Anzu and that Adil guy cause I felt like a third wheel. I was looking for the others, but it is awfully crowded here...." Honda trailed off when he saw Souji, "Yo, you look like you could sleep for a week. Don't tell me that Izanami chick wore you out that much?" The last part was said with a tone that could be nothing but a jab.
----------
Izanami blinked at the mention of Atsuro. She was pretty certain she'd heard the name from Souji or one of his group before, but she couldn't recall having met him. Still, this was a holy place and she had no intentions of letting anyone execute anyone under her watch. She whirled on Abel as he made his attempt at a taunt, and there was an eerie calm that washed over her. There was no doubt she was a goddess as she took several steps forward, and the shrine seemed to be responding to her calm rage as it channeled its energy into her.
"My essence remains there, but I can project myself onto the plane in the form of avatars. I ask you to leave this ground. I don't know what quarrel you have with the human named Atsuro, but I kindly request you take it off my land," She was speaking in extremely formal Japanese, actually. Outdated by a century or two, at that. She looked towards Amaterasu, "Although if you seek to kill one under the protection of Amaterasu, you may find your work cut out for you..."
Faisal was standing down, remaining next to Amaterasu. That was his main issue with the situation as well. The way the Hebrew demon was choosing to defile this holy ground with his violence. If the man would just leave the area, he'd lower his rage and leave the situation as it sat... but as far as he was concerned, it was in Abel's hands.
----------
~ "Asim, wait." ~
Haytham and Asim were less than a minute from where Izanami was addressing Abel. Haytham grabbed Asim's shoulder and pulled him back. While neither could yet see the face off, they could feel Izanami's flare in energy. Asim looked back at Haytham with a questioning look.
~ "We shouldn't march in there fists swinging. I'd prefer to avoid a battle if possible, and it seems the god of this Shrine has finally taken matters into her own hands. We wait." ~
----------
There was a deceptive amount of strength in the arm of the rather... well dressed man. He gave a charming and completely harmless smile as Abel requested he speak with less English. He released his grip once it seemed certain Atsuro was stable.
"Watashi ask..." Pegasus shook his head, "Sumimasen, I am not entirely used to Japanese. I asked if you were alright?"

Issun frowned. This Pegasus guy had vanished? Issun had no idea who Pegasus was, but he sounded pretty important, considering Atem was freaking out. And then the old man finally noticed the guy who looked like his grandson's twin.
"Wow, that didn't take ya long to figure out," Issun commented.
-------------
Souji's face turned bright red at Honda's jab, and he suddenly looked very flustered. Really, with how easily Souji talked about his old girlfriends, it was easy to forget just how chaste he was. At the very least, it looked like Honda's jab had managed to make him forget most of the previous serious situation.
"W-Wait, we di-didn't do anything like that! A-All we did was have lunch together! That's all! Really!" Souji shifted his feet, and he seemed really jittery. It was pretty obvious how embarrassed he was. "B-Besides, this is a shrine! You don't do stuff like that on a shrine! I-I mean, I don't think..."
Minato was cracking up laughing by now. "Dude, you're Izanagi! You should know these things! Besides, I don't think it matters if you're both gods, eh? In fact, I bet I know exactly what you and Izanami were doing..."
"M-Minato, come on..." Souji said meekly.
-----------------
There was no response from Abel at Izanami's words. A tense silence spread over them, broken only by Amaterasu's continued growls. The three gods (and Abel had a feeling there were more among this festival) wanted him to leave these grounds, but Abel would not be intimidated from these lands. He held dominion over all demons and fiends.
And then, something shifted. A positively demonic smirk spread over Abel's features, but when he looked back up at the three of them, he had an almost angelic smile on his face.
"My Lord has granted me permission to use fifty percent of my abilities in order to dispose of you rogue spirits," Abel stated with a disturbing calm. And then the energy around him exploded. It had been impossible to ignore him before, and that had been with most of the access to his power locked. Now it was an almost overpowering energy. Not only that, but the energy exploding off of Abel's body seemed to be trying to take dominion over the three gods in his vicinity.
Abel reached his hands up and pulled the headphones around his head down to his neck. As he did that, there was a flash of light, and when it cleared, he had changed. Though his form was mostly the same, there were horns protruding from his skull, and blue markings along his body. He gathered an orb of Almighty energy in his free hand, and then threw it at Izanami.
------------------
Atsuro looked exasperated as Pegasus continued to struggle with his Japanese. He only answered after Pegasus managed to FINALLY get a sentence out in Japanese.
"Er... yeah, I'm fine," Atsuro said, knowing that anyone could tell just from looking at him he wasn't fine. He gave an apologetic bow. "I-I'm sorry I ran into you!"
