Tuddrussel looked around at the newly refurbished apartment and whistled. "Not bad, Lar."
"How did you fit everything in here?" asked Otto.
"Pocket Dimension Generator," explained Larry. "Very expensive, but it's the only way we'd be able to fit all our equipment and still live comfortably."
"Which reminds me," Tuddrussel piped up, cocking his eyebrow uncertenly, "How long do we have to live here again?"
Larry sighed impatiently. "As I told you before, until the scientists at Time Squad Central figure out what has us tethered to this 'Dimensional Island' and how to sever the connection."
"I can't wait for a bunch of eggheads to pull us out of here!" cried Tuddrussel. "No offense, kid," he added with a glance to Otto.
"None taken," he said waving it off. "Look, I know our situation looks bad, but we might as well make the best of it... Maybe try to make friends with the new neighbors..." he suggested with a shrug.

(OOC: I don't you mind me "dropping" in, and I hope I'm not messing with your canon too much. XD Feel free to explain anything to me, I've never even HEARD of this canon. And, uh, tell me if what I did needs to be changed. XD
Btw, the compact/belt buckle Miyako has might raise some eyebrows. Its a pretty psuedo-scientific piece of equipment. Lemme know if you want to focus on it, I can PM you some more details.)
There was making friends with new neighbors, and making friends with new... neighbors? In any case, the problem with technology that created pocket dimensions in a place as dimensionally unstable as the Island was that the Island was dimensionally unstable. As in, anything that messed with any kind of dimension tended to develop problems in the technical department. In any case, there was a rather unhealthy clicking noise, followed by a few puffs of smoke, and finished up with what was quite literally a localized explosion... all from the device coined as a "Pocket Dimension Generator".
Any one with the sense to actually check on the device would find a Japanese girl of about thirteen years coughing and trying to get to her feet. She was pretty much covered in black soot-like material, although it wasn't guaranteed the source was the device. She looked a little frazzled, as if she'd gotten a good jolt of electricity as well. All in all, Miyako Goutokuji had not had as pleasant of an arrival on the Island as her friend Momoko Akazutsumi had...

((I don't mind anyone dropping in; this is pretty much an open RP. XD; Just a little lost on what the hey just happened...))
EDIT:
The team heard a small boom and whiffed a bit of smoke.
"What... was that...?" Tuddrussel asked hesitantly.
After a moment's notice, Larry jumped, shreiking, "The generator!"
Rushing over to where the generator was, he spotted the girl and stopped in confusion. How on Earth did she get there, anyway? No matter... he picked her up, dusted her off, and asked her in Japanese, "Are you alright?"
((Just try Googling as much as you can about Time Squad, I guess.))

(OOC: I don't really need to. XD Part of the fun of this site is interacting with franchises you've never heard of. I'm not a fan of a lot of American animated series.)
Miyako was in the middle of a small coughing fit when Larry ran to her side and helped her up. She nodded a few times before actually opening her eyes nad blinked when she saw Larry. She seemed less surprised at the fact that he was a robot and more clueless as to the overall situation. She managed to look cute, even with bits of soot still clinging to her body and various parts of her outfit.
"I am quite alright, thank you," she said, her voice a bit airy and rather cute. She looked around in startled confusion and then down at her outfit. She seemed a bit surprised. She looked up, "Is this the inside of Mt. Fuji?"
A rather... ditzy question, all things considered. She had gone back to looking around, as if she expected something. She didn't seem to be finding it.

"Mt. Fugi?" Larry asked in surprise. "Oh, heavens, no. This is our apartment. We're in a location known as Dimensional Island..."
((Well, I was never really a fan of Japanimation, so I guess that makes us even. So... would this conversation be only understood by the girl and Larry since Larry's the only one on the team who's multilingual, or is the island, again, translating their Japanese for everyone?))

(OOC: The magical powahs of the Island translate for the characters. However, my wank is that characters can TELL when its going on and when they're speaking natively, and if someone makes a specific point of speaking in another language, it comes across like that. Basically as long as it doesn't interfere with the plot, the Island translates. XD And its Fuji, not Fugi. XD
As for how honorifics would be handled, I always argued a feeling rather than a direct translation. For "-chan" the non-Japanese listener would get the "feeling" of friendship towards the mentioned persons rather than hearing actual "-chan". In the case of a multilingual character, though, they'd hear it as Japanese. Any language a character knows is heard non-translated in my wanking.)
Miyako looked around. It certainly looked like an apartment. She looked back at Larry and tilted her head. It was like an animal might do and was altogether cute. Her corkscrew pigtails moved naturally with the movement.
"Your apartment? Dimensional Island...? I have not heard of such a place," she seemed suddenly startled and held up a hand to her mouth, looking around again, "Is Momoko-chan and Kaoru-chan here?"

Larry frowned. "Terribly sorry, but we haven't seen anyone else."
((Um... so Larry can be speaking Japanese to her, know any place I can look up appropriate "honorifics" and stuff?))

(OOC: I can just pretend you have them, if you want. There's a lot of nuances to the darn things, and I'm not even sure I use them totally right a lot of times. If you really want to use them, you're probably safe with "surname-san" - It's the standard.
The ~desu wa is a verbal tic type thing, hence why its not translated.)
The girl looked worried. She glanced around the apartment again. It didn't seem she doubted the robot before her, but was acting out of worry and vain hope. She then realized what Larry had said, and looked back towards him.
"Did I hear you say we? I am afraid I do not see who you are talking about. Oh, my name is Goutokuji Miyako. I am very pleased to meet you ~desu wa," Momoko said with a polite bow.

((I suppose that would be easier; thanks. By the way, I'm considering at some point in the near future of this RP to throw in a mission. This would be a good way to establish how Time Squad will operate from Dimensional Island, but I'm also considering how to get Rolling Bubbles involved as well... Can you think of any historical fashion designers she might be well studied on?
((Okay, basically Time Squad's dimension has gotten so old, their time line is beginning to "decay," so to speak. This decay manifests itself when major events in historical figures' lives are altered, ultimately resulting in them making drastically different life decisions and throwing history off-course. Any time Time Squad's equipment picks up decay in the time line, they go back in time, see what's changed, and fix it to bring history back on track.
((Something I must confess, though... I feel like I may have written myself into a corner by applying for a fashion enthusiast like Larry when I know nothing of fashion... especially now that he's met another fashion enthusiast. How would you suggest I deal with that?))
At this point, Larry realized he hadn't formally introduced her yet. "Oh, where are my manners?" He brought her back to where Tuddrussel and Otto were and said, "These are my teammates, Officer Tuddrussel and Otto Osworth. And I am the Larry 3000, but you may refer to me as Larry."
Looking to his teammates, he said, "Guys, this is Goutokuji Miyako. From what I've seen and heard, I'm assuming she's just appeared on the island."
((I'm not sure whether or not to make Larry aware by now that the island translates everything for non-multilinguals yet, so he might know Goutie (forgive the butchered nickname; I'm having a tough time with the Jap. spelling) can understand what he's saying to Otto and Tuddrussel in English, or he might not.))

(OOC: I can wank Miyako knowing about any historical designer. If they've got a wikipedia article, she's guaranteed to have heard about them at the very least. Well studied on would depend on who you want to go with. She'd know the big ones. Uh, that Coco woman she'd know pretty well.
Don't feel bad about knowing nothing of fashion. I don't really either. XD I fly by the seat of my pants and make things up as I go along with characters who have knowledge I don't know. If nothing else, we can make someone up. Miyako does dream of being a fashion designer when she grows up (canon!) so like I said, anything pretty much goes.
I only suggest you make her history different than "modern era" of Time Squad's history. The few basics are the same, but things like the Oeida (p?) Chakichaki Girls (complicated, I can try to explain), Chemical X, Chemical Z, Powerpuff Girls Z, etc wouldn't be the same. As for the Larry knowing everyone can understand each other, that's totally up to you. XD THey're your characters. If they've been in the public at all, I'd say he'd know. Due to the way CN likes to crossover its franchises, they might know about the PPG from history but not PPGZ. Honestly, it might even be possible they think PPGZ is a result of a decayed timeline REALLY messing things up. XD Also, maybe we should take these discussions to PM? They sure take up a lot of space.)
Miyako gave no objection to being guided out of the room. She was looking around at the apartment a bit more than where she was going though. As such she almost ran into Tuddrussel. She managed to see his feet just before running into him and made a cute hop backwards to recover. She looked over to Larry as he introduced the two. When Larry introduced her to them she gave a polite bow.
"I am very sorry to have caused such an intrusion upon your home. I'm afraid I do not know how I got here and hope I am not being a terrible inconvenience," she stated. She straightened up, "Would it be possible for me to receive directions on how to return to Tokyo City, Japan?"
(OOC: Sorry if she sounds stuffy, Miyako speaks with fairly proper Japanese in show. Tokyo City is the PPGZ equivalent of "Townsville" and is obviously based on Tokyo, Japan. :3)

"Uhhhh..." Tuddrussel was a little taken aback by Miyako's formality. "She talks funny," he side-whispered to Larry.
"Try to be a little more sensitive for once," he hissed back.
Ignoring the hushed conversation and paying attention, instead, to Miyako's question, Otto shrugged explaining, "Sorry, but Dimensional Island's pretty much on its own little plane of existence. I know; it sounded weird to me when I first heard it, too. So, the only sure way you'd be able to get back to your world's Tokyo is if you found a portal to it at the Interdimensional Travel Station."

Miyako seemed distracted by something as Larry and Tuddrussel spoke. She came back to attention when Otto spoke. She seemed a bit worried for a moment, but it faded to a cute smile within a few seconds. Of course, she just needed to find that and she could get back.
"Have you seen a girl with orange hair in a ponytail named Momoko Akatsutsumi or a short black haired girl in pants or shorts named Kaoru Matsubara perchance? They are my friends and I suspect they may have been brought here as well," she was still giving her cute smile by the end.

((Of course, I shoud've bothered to check if you had posted here yet first. I'll just stick the "update" I wanted to make into this post.)) "I'm afraid not," said Larry. "You've the only one who's shown up here since we moved into our apartment. Maybe your friends were just scattered to other parts of the isla--" Larry was cut short when an alarm sprang to life. Lights that look like the one pictured below began flashing in every room of the apartment in sync with the alarm.

Miyako was listening to Larry as he spoke. She could guess at what he'd been about to say, but then the alarm went off. She clamped her hands over her head.
"Oh my, desu~!"
She shut her eyes as if cutting off that sense would cut off her hearing. She realized quickly that it wasn't working and lifted her head towards the ceiling. She could see the light levels flashing in sync with the alarm even behind her closed eyes, so she opened them carefully to look at the light. She glanced at Larry.
"Is there something that would be setting off that alarm, perhaps?"

The trio glanced up at the alarm and back at Miyako. "Oh, just a little... issue we're being called to take care of," Larry said, attempting to make it sound as if it were nothing. Having said that, he walked over to a large multiterminal computer, sat down, and typed in a string of code. With a few blips, a woman's portait and the following appeared on the screen: ((You know what, since you brought her up, I decided to just look her up on Wikipedia and just work with her. Saves me the trouble of making stuff up.)) COCO CHANEL 1913 PARIS, FRANCE As usual, this was the part where history whiz Otto piped up on who the individual the mission was for was. "Hey, I think I do remember coming across something in my history books about a French fashion designer named Coco Chanel." Larry looked delighted by this mission. "Coco Chanel? Founder of the Chanel fashion house?"
