((There is a reason for the title. I usually call myself an idiot in real life))
Okay being lost is one thing but this is ridiculous. I mean how could I go from being at home watching a card match between Sara and Robert to this place, thought a rather chubby girl as she sat at a table. An odd deck of cards were spread out over it. She held one up towards her face. "And Sara is going to kill me for stealing Avacyn. Well if she can find me," the girl muttered as she set the card back down. "Might as well get a book while I'm here," she added before gathering up her deck and browsing through a set of shelves. The girl had a short stature and a curiosity gleamed in her eyes as she found a book entitled 'Summoning for Dummies'. Didn't know you could do that, she thought before sitting at the table again. "Best get started on learning Beth because you might be stuck here," she muttered as she cracked open the book.

The bespectacled 10-year-old boy passing the girl's table nearly didn't notice her. Then again, he was carrying several thick books in his hands. Titles included, but weren't limited to, History of Void City, Legend of the Elemental Temples, The Nest Jewel Pieces, and Rei no Kaado: Vol. 1.
Suddenly, he stopped and peeked around his book pile. "Oh, hi there," he said with a smile. Plopping the pile down on the table, he asked, "You new here?" She did have that lost look to her most island newcomers seemed to have.

The girl looked up from her book. "You could say that," she replied. "Never knew that magic was actually real. Then again it's only in the movies where I'm from."

"Yeah, same here..." The boy sat down opposite the young woman as he responded to her. "Movies, books, TV...y'know, those things," he remarked with a shrug. "But this island connects to all kinds of worlds, so all sorts of stuff could show up or happen here."

The young woman held out her hand.
"I'm Elizabeth or Beth. Some call me DMis as well," she offered kindly. "Besides where is here precisely?"

"My name's Otto," said the boy, shaking her hand. "And this place?" Otto hesitated as he tried to think of the right way to phrase his response.
"It's really confusing at first," he admitted. "The place as a whole is called Dimensional Island. It's kind of another dimension but kinda not..." He waved his hand in a so-so manner. "It's more like between dimensions. A lot of alternate universes hook up to this place, so a lot of weird stuff can show up all over. Some of the regulars at this library said something about a huge fight in here that apparently took place a few days back between a demon, some wizards, and talking unicorns..."
Otto shrugged, remarking, "I dunno; I didn't hear the whole story. I might've misheard something. Though given the crazy things I've seen living here so far, probably not."

"Talking unicorns? Demons? Dang this place is dangerous," Beth replied. "More so the Demons but wow. A dimensional cross roads. Never thought I'd be here."
"I'd highly doubt that this world would be that innocent as to keep Demons loose like that. But then again it isn't my call," she offered. "What'ch reading anyways?"
((had to edit it. Felt like a screwed something up))

Otto smiled, setting the books he selected down on the table for Beth to see. "These are books documenting different moments in history on Dimensional Island. History's my all-time favorite subject," he explained with a grin. "And, y'know, I figured it would be good to brush up on the history of where I'm currently living now..."

Beth nodded.
"I guess that would be a good thing to do," she replied with a smile and marking her page with a card. "So does this place have a good manga selection?"

"I think there's a graphic novels section somewhere in that back corner," Otto remarked, pointing in the direction. "I haven't really checked that section out yet though..."

Beth nodded again.
"So magic actually works here?" she asked changing the subject again. "I mean I'm sure there is some science involved but is it even true magic?"
Beth made a mental note to check out the graphic novel section later on after settling into her new home.

The younger boy simply shrugged. "I dunno... All I can say is, I've seen a lot of weird and fantastic stuff happen around here in all kinds of varieties. Magic could very well work completely differently from one world to another, and in other's still not exist at all..."

"True very true. But then why would there be all of these books on magic if it didn't work here?" Beth replied.
Curiosity was getting the best of the newbie and she was starting to become the who-what-where-when child again.

"Well, from what I've seen and heard, a lot of the magic books they keep here can be really contradictory from one to the other," remarked Otto conversationally. "Apparently because they all come from different worlds where magic works just as differently..."

Beth nodded. It seemed like she accepted the answer.
"So how long have you been here?" she asked politely if not somewhat abruptly.
Being as scatter brained as she was, it was more or less surprising that she hadn't done something really stupid by now.
Does extra-dimensional incidents equal international ones? Then again Mom isn't around to scold me if I screw up, Beth thought as she looked to her book before looking back at Otto.
