"Is something on your mind, Toby?" Victoria offered.

The eyes of the bar brigade all seemed to lean toward Toby. "I'm a trusty ear if you need to talk to someone," the Pianta offered.

Toby panned his eyes towards Victoria, then Danny, then Ed, then nothing in particular. "Um... No." Then he stuck the straw back in his mouth, very audibly sucking the last bit of his juice.

"I see," she offered as she looked to her drink.

The young woman in the sailor suit stood up from her table, approaching the bar. "Ah, Here to join the conversation, Mackenzie?" Danny asked.
"Honestly, just came to pay my bill," she offered. "I can sit and talk if you want, though."
"Hey, refills are free, you don't have to leave in a hurry here."

Toby wasn't really paying much attention at that point, having long decided that he had nothing to contribute to the conversation. He simply resumed swirling his straw around in his empty glass, his chin in his hand and his mind wandering.
He had to wonder what had compelled him to start sleepwalking again. It hadn't been an issue since around the time of his... awakening. He cringed slightly when he contemplated that; he really hated using that term to describe his transformation. Regardless, it would've been stupid to assume his sleepwalking and involuntary shadow-hopping had merely been the result of a relapse. Something was wrong with him.
Then again, what else was new?

Victoria quietly sipped her drink.

"At any rate, why not introduce yourself, Mack?" he asked her. "These folks could at least use an idea of who you are."
She tilted her head, an eyebrow raised as she contemplated an answer. "...Alright. My name's Mackenzie, I'm a detective," she offered. "I don't have a place to call my own on the island, but back home I was a pretty big hit."
"Wow, like in the noir movies?" Ed asked. Mackenzie shook her head.
"I wish my cases were that serious... no, they're a lot tamer than the nitty gritty black and white detective shows."

"Hm." Toby nodded as he listened. Mackenzie's life certainly sounded interesting, not to mention the fact that "tame" was a pleasing adjective to him. If only his life was that simple. If only the mystery that was his entire existence was so easy to deduce.
"Vhatever zhe green-eyed boy orders is on me!"
She seemed to appear out of nowhere. The door hadn't been touched, nor were there any telltale footsteps preceding her entry. Before anyone knew it, a small, redheaded teen girl was taking a seat at the bar net to Victoria, casually leaning back and casting an oversized grin between Danny and a properly confused Toby.

Victoria blinked. "Mister Toby.... do you know her?" asked the rather confused Isoran.

Ed just waved, Mackenzie raising an eyebrow. "And would you like anything yourself, miss?" Danny asked. "Huge supply of icecream, fruit, drink and food in the back."

"Uhhh... No, I don't... think I know her." His usual awkwardness notwithstanding, Toby found that there was something genuinely off-putting about this girl. He hoped it just wasn't a case of meeting and subsequently forgetting about her, which he hastily double-checked. "Do I know you??"
"Nein, but I know you," the redheaded girl giggled back at him in that thick German accent of hers. She then looked up at Danny and cheered, "Vanilla malt, danke schön!"
Toby blinked, taking a moment to bashfully examine her. It didn't take long for him to conjure up a theory about who she was. The vibes he was getting from her aura were one thing, but what really tipped him off was her reference to his eye color. There was only a certain group of people who regularly referred to him as such...

"Okay," she offered before looking back to her drink. "So anything interesting happen lately, Mister Ed?"

"Not much, been doing lotsa deliveries with Chompy for my job," he offered. "If only Eddy could see me now- I'm making enough money to get Jawbreakers for weeks!"
Mack gave a tiny hint of a smile. "So you're a fast food worker," she offered. "Any place in particular?"
"Taco tuesday," he smiled.
"Not a bad place- better than Taco Super Bell," Danny offered.

The redhead laughed at the conversation. "Sounds delightful! Perhaps I vill try one of your 'tacos' someday!"
Toby narrowed his eyes slightly, though he was still clearly feeling slightly awkward despite his newfound suspicion. "You never told us your name."
"Oh! Es tut mir leid. Vhere are my manners?" she giggled. "Ich heiße Aufklärung. Please, call me Enlightenment."
"Enlightenment..." Well, that settled it. The dark aura, the naming theme, the mention of his eye color...
As if to beat him to the punch, though, Enlightenment sighed, "Ja, Herr Toby. I am one of them," as she grinned and rolled her eyes at the silly boy.
