"You do realize that you and her were giving off a really strong energy signature right?" Beth replied calmly.

"Oh? So we were really strong, eh?" I chirped, my left braid already done. I moved to the right side. "Man, what'cha think of us? I'd say that on a scale of one to ten, we were like... a five that time. We didn't have a city to level this time."
I let out a chuckle, probably causing her to think I was mad. "What? It ain't our fault they topple so easily."

"Dear. Be glad it was me you attracted and not one of my brothers," Beth offered. "And to be honest.... that was more of a three at best."
She quietly touched down.

"Ha! Guess I'm gonna have to meet your brothers someday! Ooh! Do they like destruction too??" I asked, chuckling more at the look I was getting. "C'mon, laugh and smile more. It's good for your health!"
And I gave a short laugh as I walked over to the edge. "Still. I'm tired. Maybe I'm just gettin' old..."

"Not exactly. At worse you might end up trapped in a void," she offered as she pulled out a card and offered it to Lark.

"So, this is... well I'll keep it for safekeeping in..." I tossed the card into my Galaxy Cloak. "There! Hopefully it doesn't end up on Venus like the cursed manuscript. That kinda caused a global blackout for a few days."
Though... "You write in the Old Script?"

"Old script?" Beth asked calmly.

"Old Script. Y'know, the font people used before the Great Undoing?" I asked, curious. "It made no damn sense whatsoever? I mean, I can read it, but I don't see how it, y'know- works."
I drew a manuscript from my cloak. Looks like it survived its trip to Venus, too. "Like... This! Who needs all those confusing letters when you can assign every word to its own symbol??"

"Then you have to memorize every symbol. And I highly doubt that it translates well between regions," she offered. "And Great Undoing? You mean Reckoning?"

"Nah, they actually translate pretty good! Better than memorizing a buncha languages, that's for sure!" I said, before letting out a short laugh.
"And nope, no Reckoning! Just the Great Undoing! The world went-" I slammed my fist into my palm. "SMASH! Wish I coulda been there."

"Different Earth," she offered.

"A different Earth, eh?" I asked, looking mock-thoughtful. "I've seen many Earths on my many travels across the fabric of reality, see?" I swished the Galaxy Cloak for emphasis.
"One was dreadfully boring aside from the incoming meteor apocalypse. Had I not needed to buy some figs I woulda stayed to watch it."

Beth froze. "You saw my original earth..... the one that was destroyed..." she solemnly offered. The look on her face was a sad one.

"Ahaha..." I chuckled. "Yep, those meteors sure were huge! That little piece of rock you called home didn't stand a chance!"
I'm sure by now Beth is horrified. "I stopped on by later. Man... those carapaced guys love it, eh? But on the bright side,"
I pulled out something from the cloak. "Apparently this old Earth dessert- I think they called it a Twinkie or some shit- can hold up for centuries."

"Wouldn't be surprised. So much of that is preservatives," Beth offered. And yes she was horrified. "The blood of billions of innocents is on my hands... and on the hands of my counterparts where the Reckoning was triggered...."
It was almost eerie how the older woman had gone from eager to fight and happy to this very somber and crestfallen being.
