Down a dark, thin path, deep in the alleyways of Void City, a searing portal tore open in the dark of night. Unseen by anyone, it existed undisturbed for some time. One would assume that any locals would prefer to not screw with such common temporal rifts anyhow, now commonplace and boring as rain is to one who lives in Seattle. But on the other end, things were not as placid.
A vision in blue, a waifling beauty, stumbled through the portal so long after it had opened, as if having been pushed. Which she had been. The rift zipped closed behind her, sealing her way back. She pinwheeled her thin arms to maintain her balance, and stood steady for a second. She clasped her hands and slowly scanned the surroundings, scared. She wasn't immediately dead upon entering, so that was something, at least.
She stood there silent for a while, barefoot in thin dress, gem set into her chest faintly glowing out of fear. With no where else to go, no other actions to take, she started forward, one hand trailing on the alley wall, looking for the way out, or at least a sign of life.
