Sonic's arms stretched out, gripping the ground as he took off in a four legged frenzy. The reach his arms gave him allowed him to keep up with Ruby, to an extent, but he wasn't quite reaching the speed he had been going earlier. He was certainly doing a great job, though.

Ruby kept running. Her only thought was 'DON'T TRIP!!' as she kept zipping about.

As Ruby ran, a wave of pink mist seemed to billow out around the city, desperately trying to sweep something into its ethereal maw. Sonic saw this weird blast, trying to jump over and around any spread of the mist. "RUBY! LOOK OUT!"
Moments after yelling, Sonic was swept up in the mist.

That yell was enough for Ruby to loose her focus and trip. The speed she had been running sent her flying and tumbling.
The mist soon engulfed her as well. She shuddered as a bizarre feeling washed over her. Ruby felt like something was being torn out of her soul as an orb of ruby red aura flew off of her.

Sonic felt the same, his entire body warping and altering as a ball of blue outlined darkness ripped itself from him, the hedgehog nearly fainting from the force.

The orb from Ruby soon passed the on from Sonic and intended on smacking into him.
Ruby was attempting to stand. "Sonic?" She weakly called as the orb from him hit her smack in the middle of her back.

The hedgehog had shrunken back to his old self, panting as the new orb shwooped right into him. "O-ow... Did I just-" He stared as his hand, now being decked out in his old leather gloves, being re-made through magic (as usual.) "I-I think I've lost my curse..."

Ruby, on the other hand, did not fair so well. Pops and snaps could be heard from the form under her red cloak.
Her skin was turning a dangerous inky black as odd boney protrusions lined her arms, tearing through her clothing. Her face became more wolf like as her ears followed suit. The upper half of her face was covered in a white bone mask with red markings.
The eyes of the beast she had become remained silver as she attempted to adjust her eye patch once more.
"And I think I found it..." Ruby offered as her shoes warped to become more like bracers for her now digigrade feet.

Sonic winced. "Whoa... is that how crazy the creatures on your world get?" he asked. "It's kind of cool looking, actually."

Ruby nodded as she looked herself over. "I'm a Beowolf now.... great..." She offered as she stood up to be about 7 feet tall. "And from the size... I'd have to guess just a normal one. Just hope Weiss and Yang don't try to kill me..."

"If your curse is like it was when I had it, you'll probably be able to do things you normally couldn't," Sonic offered. "For now though, let's see if we can get out of here without people getting the wrong idea..." Sonic took a few steps forward, mindful not to outrun the bigger Ruby.

Ruby nodded and seemed to easily keep up with the blue hedgehog. "I wonder what happened to my speed and healing...." she offered as she walked.
He wasn't wrong, she did feel more powerful and oddly stronger.

He stopped for a moment, looking around. "I'll just check ahead right quick," he smiled, pulling a foot up. He dashed down one of the roads, faster than he ever had, a trail of blue pedals spawning in his wake. He soon zipped down the other path, before stopping right in front of Ruby- with a very noticeable amount of recoil. "W-whoa, where'd all of that speed come from?" he asked, looking around.

Ruby blinked. "......... You got my semblance!!!" she quickly realized. "Congrats on super speed and aura healling."
The Beowolf picked up one of the blue petals and placed it on her nose.
