Kid blinked a few times and then let out a smile. If she didn't come across as a little kid before, she did now. It seemed she'd gotten it right. When the wind blew past, she shivered and rubbed her hands on her arms. She lifted her hand a bit because of the odd to her sensation of fabric. She had gotten to the point that she was shivering constantly. It was the kind of whole body vibrations that were hard to stop once they got started. Her teeth were chattering too. Well, she was mostly nude.
She didn't seem to have the sense to stand up. If she even could. She was pretty distracted with rubbing her arms. She looked up at Luke again, a quizzical look on her face. It wasn't like she could be expected to know that if you were cold you got up and found a place to stay, not if Luke's assumption was right. She sneezed again, and jumped a bit because the noise startled her. She wiped the now running nose with the long sleeve of Luke's jacket before looking up at him again. She was still shivering.

Luke sighed and rubbed the back of his head before stepping closer to Kid and holding out his hand. It didn't look like she knew that it might be a good idea to stand up. But they definitely needed to get some clothes on her. On that note, if they found civilization, Luke knew he needed to get some winter clothing. Specially made duke's son clothes were not the warmest clothing in the world.
"Here, I'll help you walk," Luke said as he held his hand out to Kid. If he was right, they could probably just follow the river, like he had with Tear that first time in Tataroo Valley, and they'd something.

Kid stared at the hand a few moments. She wasn't quite sure what she was supposed to do. Her eyes widened in that lightbulb way she seemed to have and she grabbed his hand with both of her own. She then proceeded to yank as she tried to pull herself up. If Luke didn't have solid footing, he'd be on the ground along with her. If he did have solid footing, he'd have to adjust because she'd have trouble maintaining balance...

Unfortunately for both parties involved, Luke had not been able to get very solid footing, and ended up being pulled down on top of Kid. He landed rather roughly on top of her. After a moment, Luke looked down at Kid, and jumped back, his face red enough that he probably set salad bars fifty miles away on fire.
"Let's try that again," Luke said. He stood up again, and brushed himself off before stepping closer to Kid, holding his hand out like before.
This was still so awkward.

Kid let out an "eep!" noise as Luke managed to fall on top of her. She tried to whack him on the him on the head for it, but he jumped back quick enough that she managed to hit her knee. That occurred about when Luke was stepping forward again. She stared at the painful knee for a few moments before beginning to sniffle... and then wail. It probably took less than three seconds from sniffle to wail. She was oblivious as ever to why something like this could possibly be awkward. She wasn't looking at Luke's hand at the moment.

And now Luke officially had no idea what to do. He looked back and forth, and then back down at Kid, and then back around at the area. He knew how to treat simple wounds, but he didn't even have any gels on him. Not only that, but it didn't look like she'd hit it too bad. It wasn't even bleeding. But that didn't change the fact that Kid was bawling like a complete baby, which, in a way, she was.
He stepped back, and started panicking. Now would be a great time for someone to show up and help him out with this.

Once upon a world, someone said ask and ye shall receive. What Luke received probably wasn't what he wanted. At least at first. Because as soon as he thought it would be a great time, it was time for the second skyshow of the night to begin. This one would be far more unsettling, because Luke wouldn't be able to place it. Being nowhere near the void, he wouldn't know the empty soundless feeling of that. So when a swirling mass of that same empty soundless feeling appeared above the bushes the "monster" had been in...?
Kid reacted even before Luke could. Her crying came to a stop and she jerked her head to the side and up. Her eyes widened at the display of purple and black miasma. She couldn't have told you what it was even if she could speak properly for her physical age. She did have an instinctive fear of it and attempted to scoot back again. This time both the tails of Luke's vest and her hair got caught under her, and she managed to fall over on her side. Well, she wasn't crying anymore...

Luke blinked as Kid turned to the side, but it was right after her focus changed from her knee to something in the sky that he sensed something from where the monster had come from. He looked up into the sky.
"What the hell is that?!" Luke yelled. There were just tons of sky portals showing up from out of nowhere. The difference between this one and the one that Kid had shown up out of was that he recognized the energy from the one Kid had come from. He recognized it all too well. But the energy from this thing was unsettling... what the hell?

"-par!"
The word even sounded like it had been cut off. It had started when a spiky haired teenager had come out of the odd space head first. His hair was around the same shade of red Luke's had once been, minus the fading at the tips. And there were a lot of tips. Although Luke probably wasn't focusing on that. As soon as the teen's feet left the swirling miasma-like mass, it blinked out of existance like it was never there.
The teen seemed more than aware of his surroundings. Well, once the portal had vanished. It was rather impressive as he twisted around in mid-air and managed to throw his weight to the side. It wasn't totally successful. While he managed to not land in a way to break his neck, he didn't land well, either. Kid eeped as about half a bush worth of leaves shot into the air as the new arrival crashed into it. Seconds later he was standing and hacking a bit at the bush with a rathe impressive blade that seemed to dance rainbows as the moonlight hit it.
"I hate Gates that dump you high above the ground!" he shouted at the bush that was likely gonna stay dead.

Luke blinked as someone with hair that quite simply defied gravity fell out of the portal in the sky and landed rather roughly in the same bush that Luke had been yelling at before. He gripped the hilt of the Key of Lorelei as he saw someone with a rainbow blade (not like that was a particularly odd occurrence; some of the swords in Auldrant tended to have rather odd appearances themselves) cut their way out of the bush.
"Who the hell are you?!" Luke demanded. Obviously this person was some sort of new arrival, but with how things had been going, it was possible this guy was some sort of new enemy. Plus he'd appeared out of some odd portal himself. While Kid had appeared out of a portal that at least made some sense to Luke.

Crono tensed up and whirled around. It was probably disconcerting, amusing, or both the way Crono held his blade. It was totally like a shield, and the stance was not unlike something a certain best friend of the fon Fabre man would pull. He looked ready to fight as he noticed Luke's hand was on a large sword like weapon, something Frog might use.
Kid eeped again as he whirled around, and Crono turned his head to the noise. Dropping his guard, not the most brilliant move he had ever made. And when his eyes focused on Kid, any chance at a guard he would have had was completely lost. He stared at her for several moments, and she returned the gaze. She tilted her head sideways and looked at Luke.
Crono suddenly realized just how underdressed the woman was and his face turned several shades of pink. He looked back towards Luke and suddenly got tense again. Oh man, if Magus saw this he'd flip. His sword was lifted again, all these actions taking maybe ten seconds. He narrowed his eyes.
"My name is Crono! What the hell are you doing with Schala!?"
Kid blinked and spoke quietly, "Skala...?"

The first thought that occurred to Luke as Crono whirled around and faced him was that the sword style he used was way too similar to Guy's to be a coincidence. Luke realized that Crono probably was a survivor of Hod, if that was the case. Guy's sword style was exclusive to Hod according to Jade, after all.
Luke saw Crono's gaze move to Kid, and then saw him tense up again. Luke, for all of his inexperience with the world, figured out pretty quickly what Crono was thinking when he looked at Kid.
"Look, this is not what it looks like! She just fell out of the sky and landed on me!" Luke said. "And I'm Luke! Luke fon Fabre!"
According to this person, this girl's name was Schala. However, Luke knew from experience that she probably wasn't the Schala Crono knew. At this point, Luke was about 90% sure she was a replica. Again, it didn't seem like simple amnesia.

Crono kept his stance for a few seconds, and then relaxed a bit. This was the first time he could remember falling out of a Gate in front of someone. The big issue was that he didn't have the Gate Key. So unless someone followed him, things were not looking up. The man in front of him seemed suitably panicked, so Crono lowered his sword. It was possible Schala had fallen out of the same portal. Time travel got too complicated to think about sometimes...
"Name Skala...?"
Crono had been about to speak to the man who had introduced himself as Luke, but he turned towards Schala. Her eyes were wrong. For one, they were bright. Schala had always seemed a little sad. Even if she had fallen out of a portal, why would she be mostly nude? Crono's face flushed again and he was tugging his vest out of his belt.
"I'll... believe you for now," Crono sheathed his sword, "I guess if we're sharing full names, mine is Crono Sandview. The girl you're with is named Schala Zeal, but I think she must have amnesia or something... I suppose you can't blame her. Schala, here."
Crono tossed the vest he'd gotten off towards her, but he didn't expect the reaction she had. As the cloudy blue garment headed in her direction, she jumped to her feet and tripped over her own legs backwards, landing on her butt among some flowers. Crono blinked and took a step forward, realized it was a bad idea, and stopped. He looked at Luke again.
"Do you know what's wrong with her...?"
This was worrisome. She looked a bit wrong, her eyes were brighter. Her speech was choppy, something more like how Ayla would have spoken. Certainly nothing like the noble way of speaking she'd had in Zeal. She didn't seem capable of walking, and she didn't seem bothered that she was all but naked. That latter was a biggie if Crono knew anything about women. She'd reacted towards the vest like he'd chucked a rock at her, too. Even with amnesia, she seemed almost like a little kid. Could amnesia wipe memories that clean...?
For things to concern Luke, there was his lack of reaction to his name. Then again, at Crono's apparent age he couldn't have been very old when Hod was destroyed. Considering it had happened eighteen years ago, it was unlike Crono had been more than three. Crono seemed to think he knew "Schala", but if Luke's suspiction was right, he didn't. The spiky haired teen ahead of him was also a bit trusting, having already shielded his sword. It was possible he thought he could draw it out again before Luke got his weapon out. Still, he seemed to be handling the whole change of scenery awfully well...

Luke looked concerned as Crono pulled off his vest and threw it to Kid, who obviously had no idea what was going off. It looked like Schala was her original's name... and that Crono had known her original, too. That was always the hard part for people. Finding replicas when they had known the originals.
"I don't think she's the Schala you knew," Luke said. "This may be a little hard for you to believe but... I think she's just a replica of the Schala you knew."
Luke didn't see it necessary to explain what a replica was, since he still thought it was possible Crono was from his world. Though the way Crono was hardly panicking over this situation, despite being dumped out into some weird world out of nowhere. Not to mention he'd said something about a "Gate."
"Uh, by the way. What's that 'Gate' thing you mentioned before?" Luke asked.

Kid was glaring at the jacket as Luke and Crono talked. The glare was intense enough it seemed like she was trying to set it on fire. She wasn't, but she didn't trust it all that much. It was a like an animal that expected something inanimate to move on its own. Crono kept glancing at her as Luke talked, and then he said his first sentence. Crono blinked in confusion as Luke finished up the first part of his statement, and then asked his question. Crono shook his head, this was a lot at once.
"A what? Um... that means copy, right? What are you talking about...?"
He didn't answer about the Gate thing. It was a total long shot, but maybe Luke would forget about it. Crono glanced around the area as he asked what Luke was talking about. It was possible he'd been thrown into the future. Maybe some era of it he'd never been to before. He'd been throw into the void at the End of Time, so anything probably went. He was more than a bit confused. Copying people? He was sure Lucca would know what the hell Luke was saying more than he did.
Kid still didn't seem inclined to talk, and continued her stare at the vest. She was still shivering a bit though. Crono's eyes fell on her, concerned. He didn't know what a replica was, and she looked exactly like Schala. As he waited for the answer, he rubbed his hand on the back of his neck. It was probably a good thing he'd found this, not Magus...
