Crono frowned at the response to the question. It had been a real long shot. I mean, they hadn't spent a small amount of time in Frog's... Glenn's time. So if Lucca had shown up there, Gaspar would have been able to pick her out, right? He shifted his weight.
"Lucca vanished without a word in my Guardia. After a while I got the idea to take the Epoch to find her, but Gaspar couldn't find her anywhere. Spekkio burst out of his room, and that guy never panics. Next thing I know I was being chucked out on the ground here and ran into Luke and her," Crono pointed at the two, "And if Luke's wrong, which I'm having trouble thinking he's not, Schala has complete amnesia. She can't even walk right, and she's talking like a five year old."
Crono shook his head, covering his forehead with his lower palm, "Luke thinks this might be another dimension. I'm not sure what that word means, but I think Lucca and Robo used it before. It's a lot different than time travel. I don't know what I'm supposed to think. I'm worried about Lucca, and I couldn't find the Gate Key anywhere in her house..."
Kid batted at something with a hand. She seemed asleep, but her hand managed to hit a decent sized rock with her flailing. Her eyes snapped open and she jerked up. She looked at her hand and began sniffling for a few moments before starting to wail. Crono jerked his head to the side at the noise.
"Oh crap, she's awake!"

Glenn hadn't gotten a chance to answer Crono, because Kid had taken that moment to hit her hand on a rock. Glenn's head jerked at the noise, and he realized pretty quickly as she began to wail that Crono had been right. She wasn't just talking like a five year old, she was acting like one too. She seemed almost infantile. Glenn started walking over to Kid and crouched down beside her before lightly grabbing her wrist. He held his other hand over Kid's hand and began to mumble something before his hand glowed with a white light. He stood up once he was done. It wasn't "kissing" it better, but "slurping" it would work well enough. He looked back over toward Crono.
"I think I see what you mean now," Glenn said.
In the commotion, Luke had stirred awake, mostly due to Kid's crying, and was now staring at Glenn.
"Wait a minute, who are you?!" Luke asked. Whoever the guy was, Crono obviously didn't think he was dangerous. Glenn regarded Luke with a flat stare.
"You may call me Glenn," Glenn stated. "And yourself?"
"Luke fon Fabre," Luke replied. Glenn still hadn't really answered him.

Kid's literally eeped as Glenn grabbed her wrist. The tears stopped quick enough, and she was jerking her hand back. It was responded with a tightening, just enough to prevent herself from yanking her hand free. Crono had run over as well, making it there ahead of Glenn just due to running vs. Glenn's walking. He had fallen into a crouch when he saw the green haired man grab her wrist. He just watched with confusion and he seemed rather surprised when he realized what he'd done.
Kid had stopped struggling as the man's hand glowed as well. She blinked as he let her go and pulled her hand close, looking at it. Truth was there was still a bit of pain, as healing often didn't solve a whole lot of that and the technique wasn't all that powerful, but she was shocked enough to not really notice that at the time. She turned her hand over and over, as if someone examing a new ring or bracelet might.
Crono was about to answer Glenn's observation when Luke let out his accusatory question. Crono looked up and held up his hands to try and diffuse any possible situation. Actually, he'd just been getting up when he saw Glenn put his hand on his sword. Then he tried to diffuse things. He had a nervous grin on his face and had his hands held up. Okay, tense meeting. Frog had always been a little uptight as far as Crono was concerned, so all this was understandable. It didn't even occur to Crono to realize some of it was because of the possible presence of Schala.
"Hey, guys, no one's trying to attack anyone here," Crono gave a nervous laugh, "Ah, Glenn, this is who I was talking about before."
Kid was holding Luke's jacket between both arms like a child with a security blanket. She didn't really seem all aware that she was doing it. She was instead focused on Glenn's sword. She was looking at it rather closely. Not with recognition, really, but a lot of interest. She glanced up at Glenn for a moment and a huge smile spread on her face.
"Kid!"

Glenn took his hand off of his sword as Crono talked. That made sense, however, he hadn't been expecting such a reaction from Luke. Probably should have, but perhaps Glenn was just getting careless. Luke stood up and looked at Glenn for a moment before looking at Crono.
"Is he a friend of yours?" Luke asked.
"I travelled together with Crono for a while," Glenn said, deciding to not go into any specifics since he didn't know how much Luke knew about the Lavos situation. "I suppose that would make us friends."
Glenn looked over at Kid. Her name wasn't what he'd call the most original... he wasn't sure which of the two had named her, Luke or Crono. Considering that from what he knew, Crono was the one who had named the robot Robo, he was leaning more toward Crono. He gave a small smile toward Kid. If she really was Schala...
...Well, that meant things had just gotten a fair bit more complicated.

Crono scratched the back of his head. Now that the risk of one of them killing each other (and Crono had to admit, he favored Glenn if only because he'd seen the man fight) was mostly pass, he had relaxed a fair bit. Neither of them seemed to like each other much still, though. He supposed when you considered that Glenn met him when he was with Lucca and officially began to help him when the most dangerous seeming thing was an overly polite robot, though... well, Luke didn't seem as safe. Even Crono had to admit that.
"He's that guy I mentioned before with the Masamune," Crono gestured towards the blade, "He helped me in the mess involving all the time travelling. He's from about four hundred years in my Guardia's past."
Crono, Crono, Crono... The spiky haired teenager had just shown with painful clarity how well he hadn't been keeping his mouth shut. From mentioning the legendary blade to dropping the bomb about time travel of all things. Putting a approximate date and making it clear that the Guardia he talked about before was his kingdom were both rather small in comparison. About the only bomb he hadn't dropped was that despite the time differences, their blades were (more or less) made by the same weaponsmith.
Kid had looked up as Glenn looked at her. She gave him a quizzical look and didn't seem sure how to react. She decided on something when Glenn smiled. She returned it with a huge smile of her own. Considering the closest thing Schala had ever worn to a smile was some kind of worried and caring almost smile towards Janus, it was quite the contrast. Her reasonings had been understandable, but Schala hadn't run around smiling.

Glenn's expression soured as Crono explained things to Luke. He suddenly grabbed Crono by the shoulder and led him away from the campfire. Luke raised an eyebrow as Glenn did so. What was with that guy?
Once they were considerable distance from Luke and Kid, Glenn asked his question. "How much did you feel the need to tell him?" Just from that one statement of Crono's, there was the Masamune, the time traveling thing, and the fact that the two of them were from the same Guardia. The second one in that list was kind of a biggie though.

Crono blinked in surprise as Glenn put a firm grip on his shoulder and roughly walked away from Luke and Kid. Kid blinked as well, not sure what to do with the sudden change in attitude. She rubbed her arms due to the way the fire had gone down to cinders.
"Hey, I was stuck here without the Epoch or Lucca's Gate Key! You know, he had a chance to attack me but he didn't. So I figured he deserved to know some things. Besides, if we haven't messed up the space-time continuance thing yet, what's it gonna hurt to let him know about the time travel?" Crono seemed annoyed.
He left out other details. Like how he kind of cornered himself into having to tell with the slip about the Rainbow Shell. That Luke had never heard of Guardia, which considering the thousand years the kingdom had reigned by his time was disconcerting. Things like that tended to leave stamps on time. No, he was too busy being offended by the situation.
Meanwhile, Kid was trying to figure out how to make "her" jacket help warm her up. Her eyes flicked to the dying fire again. She gave it a sour look and narrowed her eyes. Of course, she nor anyone else could really expect the raise in fifth fonons, the very startled look on the poor girl's face, and the sudden stream of fire from her onto the pit.
She screeched in surprise, the fire roared back to life, Crono stopped his indignance and whirled around, and chaos was likely to ensue.

Glenn had been about to object when Kid suddenly screeched. Glenn had been turning when he felt the fire roar back to life, and Kid's screech convinced him something was wrong. He ran back over to toward where the now roaring fire was crackling.
Luke had jumped back when the fire roared to life. He was looking from Kid to the fire, and back again. "Did... Did she just cast a fonic arte?" That didn't make any sense, but it was obvious she hadn't intended to do that.
Glenn looked over at Luke. "What do you mean, a 'fonic arte'?"
Luke grimaced. So Glenn didn't know either. Well, he was from wherever Crono was from, just 400 years in the past. "Uh... I guess you'd call it 'magic'... but how did Kid...?"

Crono blinked as he realized what had happened. Wait, was it supposed to work like that? Had she even said anything? Sure, it had been as natural as breathing to him and his friends when Spekkio gave them magic, but they'd still had to do some weird chanting. And it had been a fair bit freaky. And... oh yeah. Freaky. Crap.
Crono ran over to Kid, hoping he didn't look as awkward as he felt. He seemed a bit less like a goof off than he had previously as he crouched down and looked Kid straight in the eyes. She stared at him slightly afraid but more curious as to why he was staring at her. He looked at her hands and then at her face again.
"Do you know what just happened?"
"Fire!" Kid exclaimed.
Crono's expression twitched, and he looked at Luke, "Do people just stumble upon their ma... uh, fawnic arte things in your time?"
Because something had just occurred to Crono. If people didn't, it meant it was unlikely Kid was one of those "replica" things. If it was really Schala with a heavy case of amnesia... well, her abilities would still be there. So a casting of Fire was entirely plausible, not that he'd ever seen Schala really do anything but channel energy.

Luke shrugged. "I don't know, I'm not a fonist. Jade might have, but Jade's a genius." And it wasn't like Luke was a fonist in the traditional sense of the word. Even normal seventh fonists weren't capable of what he could do.
Glenn stepped forward and looked at the fire. It was looking likely that it really was Schala after all, just with a high level of amnesia. It didn't seem likely to Glenn that "Kid" could have just stumbled on that kind of magic, even considering it was possible humanity rediscovered magic again later on.

Crono looked a bit frustrated, although if someone took a moment to look at him they'd realize it was at the situation, not anyone in it. He'd only heard of amnesia, he'd never actually dealt with it. Lucca would probably know what to do. It always came back to her when it came to science, didn't it? Marle'd be a better choice then their currrent group, too. She was good at this emotional stuff. He glanced around the group again and stood up. He looked at Glenn for a moment with hesitation. No, he'd mentioned Masamune so he could mention this.
"You're a fonist, right?" Crono managed to say it right this time, "Did your powers just show up one day?"
That was a nice safe way to enter the question. It didn't reveal what Luke had said about being a replica, but if he said they did then it was still possible with Kid. He didn't have the knowledge to know anything about Luke's "special" status. Kid looked annoyed that Crono had shifted attention away from her, crossing her arms and looking like she was pouting. For all of half a second, because then he turned back to Glenn. Or more precisely, the sword strapped to his back. She did seem to have an interest in that...
"What that?"
....and now she was starting to talk like Ayla.

"I thought I just said I wasn't a fonist... Well, I kinda am, but..." Luke grumbled. But he was different kind than Kid. He didn't even know much about how fonists got their abilities. He thought for a moment. Had his ability just shown up? Well, kind of. He didn't even know he was a seventh fonist until he'd gotten between Tear and Van and set off that hyperressonance.
But he was also a replica of Asch. And he didn't really know how Asch had found out about his abilities either. Obviously Mom and Dad had known about it a bit, but had Asch just stumbled on the ability when he was younger? Yes, he had. It had started with a headache. Guy didn't know about it, because Asch had never mentioned it. No one knew about the sudden loss of control over his own body except Van, who had stopped him from destroying the rest of the mansion. But the end result had been a rather nice flowervase just vanishing into thin air.
Glenn looked toward Luke. The man had gone silent. He didn't look like he was all there, really. Luke managed to shake himself out of whatever he'd fallen into quickly enough.
"...Yeah. They did," Luke said. Glenn's attention temporarily shifted toward Kid.
"It's a special sword called the Masamune," Glenn said. "It's not a toy."

Crono crossed his arms and looked towards Kid as she asked her question. As such, any chance he had of catching Luke's second space out of the night. Luke had said that, but... well, he wasn't quite sure why he'd jumped there. Some of what Luke had said. In any case, Luke responded that his powers had. That didn't eliminate he'd been surprised Kid had used her powers, though. Still, it made the situation as muddy as it had begun. Kid could be Schala or she could be one of those replica things.
Kid looked towards Crono, and glanced at his sword. She blinked and then looked towards Luke. His sword too. She was able to identify that they were both a similar kind of item, but... she looked back towards Glenn and tipped her head sideways. She wasn't sure what he meant by toy, but that really wasn't why she was staring at it.
"Special mean..." she bit her lip. She seemed to be trying to come up with the right word. She glanced at Crono and Luke, and pointed at them with a frustrated expression. She looked back at Glenn and pointed at the hilt of the Masamune, "More?"
(OOC: If you figure out her issue, congrats. If not, I'm writing it as vague on purpose. XD)

Glenn was having a hard time getting where Kid was going with that. He wasn't sure what she meant by more. "More" special? He could tell there was something special about Luke's sword (after all, most swords didn't look like someone had jabbed their blade through a massive tuning fork), but apparently the Masamune was more special than Luke's sword.
"It is a sword that can banish evil and is the bane of Mystics," Glenn stated. "If this means that it is more 'special', then yes."
Luke was pretty clueless as to what Kid was talking about himself.

Crono had glanced at Glenn as Kid asked her question. Well, he wasn't sure what she meant but it had been a question. Glenn didn't seem to understand, although at least he was able to take a guess at it. He glanced at Luke. Nope, no look of understanding there either.
"No!" Kid shook her head and kicked her legs up and down at the same time. She looked like she was having a temper tantrum.
"More.... more! More..." she stopped kicking her legs and scowled, pointing at everyone in the group again, "Who! Them! More!"
She sounded very frustrated. She seemed to feel none of the words she was choosing were quite right. Crono had reached staring at her and scratching his head. More who? More them? Many? Man, he wasn't good at puzzles...
