The fifteen year old known as Shiroi Kisa didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be in the back alleys of Void City, which had the same infamous reputation as the back alleys of any other large city. She didn't know about those of other dimensions, but she knew the reputation was well founded here. A place that attracted people from this many dimensions was going to attract some villains. She didn't want to be here, but she knew she didn't have a choice. A few days ago, a man calling himself Hiizumi Enjin had come to her house. He had come to her house for reasons she couldn't remember; reasons she hadn't been able to remember no matter how hard she tried. There he had attacked her family, and if the whim had strucken him, he could have killed them. He'd given her a promise when he left. If she didn't find the person named Akina, he would take her body. She'd been thinking of the worst case scenarios over what he would do to her family once he had her body. What she was doing now was dangerous, but she had to protect her family... even if she couldn't remember why she was looking for Akina. There had to be a reason. Kisa had "borrowed" one of her father's coats and pulled her hair back into a ponytail. A few strands fell loose, but she had swept those behind her ears. White hair was not terribly uncommon on the Island, but it was more common on men. Being female as she was, it was a key point of identification. She was dressed in some of her mother's outfits. White and grey, forgoing her usual blue. She didn't want it getting back to her family she was here, and if someone saw her, she didn't want them to be able to find her later. Still, she didn't have a single lead. Akina wasn't on the Island, she was sure of that by now. It hadn't stopped her from continuing to search. She had a feeling Enjin wouldn't accept Akina not being on the Island. She paused and looked around before pulling a card out of her pocket and looking at it. She still didn't know how she had summoned that monster, but... somehow she felt just a little safer knowing she had it. She pocketed the Blue Eyes, White Dragon card and continued walking. There was one place she hadn't checked yet... ---------- The Black Market had moved recently. A cop had shown up about three days ago, and no one had been willing to sell there after that. They'd reconvened over ten blocks away, and business was going as well as it tended to. In one of the many exits the area had (a key point in choosing locations), the alley went down about teen feet before turning into what seemed to be a dead end. There was actually an escape route there, but only the criminals of the Island knew about it. It was there that a light flashed and something gold rocketed to the side. It went straight towards the exit of the "dead end". The fact was that if anyone was standing there or suddenly appeared there, they would probably get beamed with what looked like a fancy choker with an eye set in the middle of it. The pre-teen known as Kaiba Mokuba froze up with his mouth hanging open as if he'd been yelling. Where... where the hell was he? "....hello?" It had hit Akina exactly what was wrong the moment the pain started. Tuning always hurt, and it had been a while since his last appointment with Juri. In fact, it had been about time for another one when the Senate had called him and Hime there. He'd told Hime not to lose her temper, but he'd ended up being the one to lose his temper after all. He'd thought he was fine, that he was just a bit off from it, but he'd been proven wrong about halfway through the dinner when he disappeared in the same flash of electricity and light something being tuned did.
When he appeared, it was in a similar flash of light and electricity. He got a glimpse of where he was before his vision went red and he felt dizzy just from the pain he was feeling. He was still off, something was very wrong, and he didn't know where he was, but it definitely wasn't the soba shop. He put his arm up against one of the building walls as he tried to support himself and push past the pain. Even his body looked like it was flickering. Just when it looked like he might flicker out of existence again, he was beaned in the face with a gold necklace.
Akina fell back and landed on his bottom, while the Torque landed on the ground in front of him. He was still wincing from the pain, but he managed to crack one eye open to see what had hit him. It looked like.... some kind of oversized Egyptian bracelet? Of course, he couldn't say anything in response to Mokuba's question, because his organs quite simply felt like they were liquefying and it was hard to get anything but pained gasps out.
Akina made a mental note to be more careful with his tuning if he survived this. The normal pain from tuning was bad enough. The regular hospital visits were bad enough. This was like getting tossed into a meat grinder that was being blended by a giant blender that was getting incinerated.

Mokuba actually hadn't been speaking to Akina. Hell, he wasn't even aware the Millenium Torque was with him. He'd just spoken because he didn't know where he was at and it was the first thing that had come to his mind. He'd even said it in the way one would on the phone rather than the standard personal greeting. In response he'd gotten the sound of gasping. The boy whirled around and looked like he was going to punch anyone that got within his range, although anyone who actually knew how to fight would be able to tell he didn't have a clue what he was doing.
He hesitated when what he saw was a teenager. At least a high schooler. Sure wasn't anyone he knew or anyone that had been at the ruins. He hesitated and looked around again. Anyone that had been there would have made him feel better. Even those jackasses from the Egyptian branch of Industrial Illusions. Pegasus wouldn't give a shit if his older brother ended up dead, after all. When he couldn't find anyone, he finally lowered his guard and ran towards Akina, not noticing the Torque on the ground.
"Hey, you okay? You look like hell," Mokuba stated, leaning over to adjust for the very slight height difference with Akina on the ground.
How Mokuba had avoided stepping on the Torque was up to anyone's guess.

Akina gave another wince as Mokuba ran over to him, and opened his eyes enough to look up at him. A kid...? As far as he could tell, this kid was a human, though. He didn't have any features that outed him as a demon, like slitted pupils or odd ears, so Akina was assuming he was a human.
"C-Can I have your hand real fast?" Akina managed to gasp out. He held out his own hand as he said that. He was taking a chance with this, but it was the only thing he could think to do. He was off enough it had forced him into another dimension, and it would only get worse unless he managed to stabilize himself.
It hadn't quite hit him yet that this wasn't the Afterworld. After all, he'd never seen the Afterworld, and no one from his side knew what it was like. The only people who did were "dead" to his side, after all.

Mokuba took a quick step back as Akina held his hand up. He actually had intended on helping the guy up if he needed it, but now he was a little creeped out. And Mokuba wasn't unfamiliar with the darker aspects of society. He was Seto Kaiba's little brother, after all. None of these thoughts had much of a chance to gather though, as his foot stepped right on the Torque and flew out from under him.
The Torque slipped to the side and hit the wall to Mokuba's right. As for him, he fell to the ground with a similar amount of force that Akina had hit earlier. His butt hit the snow and immediately got a bit wet. His teeth even audibly clacked together. He hissed and reached back to feel his butt, looking towards Akina with a worried expression. Yeah, there was a definite lack of trust there. However, the snow had made the Torque wet, and Mokuba caught a glint of it out of the corner of his eye. He looked towards it and his eyes widened.
"What the hell is that doing here!?"

Akina was starting to fade out of consciousness at this point. Really, now he was a little annoyed at how distrustful Mokuba was being. He was in very obvious pain and Mokuba seemed to be more worried about the fact that he'd held out his hand so he could get out of the very obvious pain.
"I... don't know... it hit me in the face earlier..." Akina said. His body flickered again, and he gave yet another wince of pain. "Could you please help me...? I promise I'm not going to hurt you."
Though he was really wondering why this kid was so distrustful.

Mokuba had looked back towards Akina as he began to speak again. He'd stepped back the first time because the guy looked fucking insane. His pupils were messed up, and he looked like a truck had hit him or something. It was entirely possible someone had dumped him here, wherever the hell "here" was. And Mokuba wasn't that keen on making enemies in a place like this.
Mokuba was pushing himself to his feet when the situation got even more complex. Akina's body flickered and a spark of what looked like electricity danced across his body. It was a fair bit similar to what Mokuba had seen happen to his older brother's Solid Vision system during bug testing. Did that mean this guy was a hologram!? He was asking for help again, and trying to assure Mokuba that he wasn't going to hurt him.
The pre-teen was clearly having a crisis of conscious. On the one hand, the man in front of him was very likely insane. To add to that, he was positive his older brother would have just left him there. On the other hand, he looked like absolute hell and seemed sincere enough with his words. Yuugi and his friends wouldn't have even hesitated to save him. He didn't seem bad, either.
"I'll kick your ass if you try to pull anything," he stated, sounding rather serious. Not to mention older than his apparent age.
Mokuba then stepped forward and grabbed Akina's hand with his own right, his position as a bit to Akina's right allowing it. His hand enclosed around the larger one. His intention was to help the guy to his feet...

The moment Mokuba grabbed Akina's hand, the pain, for the most part, faded away. Well, that confirmed this kid was human, then. Akina allowed himself to be pulled to his feet and gave a sigh of relief as he finally stood all the way up again. He gave a grin.
"Thanks. You're a lifesaver," Akina said. As he said that, much of his hair actually receded back into his skull. While before he'd looked rather insane, now that he'd finally been brought back in tune, he could come out of "oyakume" mode. He made yet another mental note not to tune so much anymore.
"I'm Hiizumi Akina," Akina said, and held out his hand, this time in greeting. He honestly wasn't sure where he was, but hey, might as well thank the guy who'd helped him out properly.

The attempt at staying unseen had failed. Fact was, Kisa was a good kid. She held herself far too timid to be wandering around the back alleys, and her luck had run out on the fourth time she had tried to dodge being seen. It had lead to her running. Luck had seemed to return long enough for her to duck down one of the alleys' paths, but now she was lost again. She hadn't seen anyone for a while...
Her hood had fallen down now, and her white hair was hanging in her face. Given the current light levels and the cast shadows, it now looked a rather steely shade of blue. She backed up against a wall and clutched her chest. She didn't know how she was going to get out of here now. What had possessed her to do this!? Surely that Akina wouldn't be in a place like this? Enjin, yes. Akina, no. The way Enjin was looking for him seemed like something that would put them at the opposite ends of a field. And she was convinced Enjin was evil... or at least dark. She didn't like to think in such black and white terms.
After a few minutes of catching her breath, she straightened up again. Now she needed to work on finding a way out. She continued walking for another ten minutes when she came to a sudden stop. That feeling... that was very similar to that thing Enjin had carried. She drew in a sharp breath. Did that mean Enjin was nearby? No... she shook her head. He hadn't had it when she had seen him last. Besides, something about this felt different. She swallowed and kept an eye out for more people as she quickly began to make her way towards the feeling.
----------
Mokuba looked a little worried as the sparking and short circuiting appearance faded. It came across in a tightened grip and a stronger pull. Akina was as much in control of the lift as Mokuba was. After all, Akina was a fair bit older than him not to mention the height and weight difference. Mokuba let go of him and took a distrusting step back as his apperance changed. Akina didn't seem to notice and held out his hand as he gave his name.
Mokuba considered for a moment before stepping back forward and extending his hand. His grip was rather dominant, "Kaiba Mokuba."
Mokuba was watching Akina's eyes as he said that. The teenager seemed Japanese, so odds were he'd know about KaibaCorp. Mokuba wasn't exactly at the front of things despite his position in company thanks to his brother's efforts, but the name had a possibility of raising eyebrows. He still didn't know where he was and wasn't sure he could trust the guy. Other people who changed appearance like that... well, unlike his brother, he believed most of the creepy shit that had happened to him after Kaiba met Yuugi.

Akina didn't give any kind of special reaction to Mokuba's surname, though he did note that Mokuba had a bit of a strong grip. After shaking hands with Mokuba, he put his hands in his pockets and looked around. This didn't look like anywhere in Sakurashin, not with how Hime ran things there. Maybe the more seedier parts of Tokyo, but definitely not Sakurashin.
"Hey, do you know where I am?" Akina asked. Really, Mokuba didn't look like he had all that much of a clue himself, but Akina figured it would be a good idea to ask at the very least.

Well, it wasn't like their family had a monopoly on the name. Hell, it wasn't even technically their's to begin with. Mokuba dropped his hand and noted that Akina seemed a lot more relaxed. That personality shift, was it possible after all...? Yuugi and the Other Yuugi had been pretty seamless, after all. So Akina didn't know where they were at, then. That was... not good. Because this sure as hell wasn't Egypt... hell, it wasn't even the right season. So where the hell was he?
He didn't have much of a chance to think about that further when he heard a crashing sound behind him. He jerked and spun around. Some girl with long white hair was pushing herself up. There was a wooden plank under her, one that looked like it had hidden the path she had probably come out of. She pushed herself to her feet and winced. She seemed to be looking for something... she paused when her eyes fell on Akina and Mokuba. She looked a bit like a deer trapped in headlights.

Akina had been rubbing his arms in an attempt to warm himself up a bit when the white-haired girl crashed through the wall. There was a wooden plank under her, which had likely been what was covering up whatever hole she'd come through. Akina blinked at her appearance. Unlike many worlds like his, Akina's world didn't have anywhere near as many odd colored people. Most of the people with odd hair colors were demons. In fact, the only people Akina had ever seen that particular shade on had been satori, though this girl lacked those distinctive ears.
Akina looked even more confused at the deer-trapped-in-headlights look she gave him upon looking toward him and Mokuba. He took a step toward Kisa with a concerned look on his face. "Um, are you okay?"

Mokuba was staying where he was standing. She seemed really fragile, and the fact that she was in a place like this? He let out a sigh at the thoughts. Man, he was getting rather paranoid. Kisa had tensed up as Akina took a step towards her, but she blinked when he addressed her. He didn't seem anywhere near inclined to attack her. She looked down and brushed the bit of wood dust off herself before looking up.
"I-I am very sorry if I startled you or was rude..." she said, when her eyes fell on the Torque on the ground, "Ah! D-does that belong to either of you!?"
Mokuba blinked and looked where she was pointing. He spun back towards Kisa. His response seemed less angry and more worried, "How do you know about the Millenium Items!?"
"Wait, they have a name...?"

Akina frowned at how polite Kisa was acting. This was more than polite, this was overly polite. The closest comparison he could think of was Touka, and even she wasn't this polite. He blinked at her reaction to the gold necklace that had beaned him in the face, and then at Mokuba's reaction to her knowing what it was, and once again at Kisa's reaction to Mokuba knowing what they were called.
"Millennium Items...?" Akina looked toward Mokuba as he asked that. "That's what that thing that hit me in the face is called?"

Mokuba looked like he wanted to facepalm when Akina asked about the items. He probably shouldn't have said that in the presence of someone who didn't have any idea what they were. He frowned and ran over to the Torque, grabbing it in a way that covered the eye with his fist. He looked towards Akina and shook his head.
"It's not important!"
"You really should be careful with that!" Kisa shouted, taking a worried step forward, "Those things are evil!"
Mokuba threw the idea of Akina being there out the window. He was far more concerned with what a girl like this was doing here and with knowledge of the Millenium Items. His next shout was a demand, "How do you know what these are!"
Kisa shook her head, "I really don't! I just.... I saw a pendant like that and... please, you have to believe me! They're... I mean... its like they're demonic!"
