Yang smiled as she walked hand in hand with her boyfriend. "Thank you for the wonderful night last night. And sorry about the popcorn mess...." she offered as they walked up the stairs.
A bleep was heard from her scroll. She blinked and looked to it.

FA: I seriously hope you're safe and on your way home.
FA: You have a guest at the room.

"It seems we may have more than just Todd to tell about us being together...." she noted as she looked to the thief as they came to the 3rd floor.

Yeah... Last night HAD been wonderful. Absolutely, positively, 100%, satisfyingly wonderful. Alex had been just so content walking hand in hand with Yang back to the hotel that they only needed to share a few looks now and then to feel a pleasant tingle in their chests. Really the thief was in such a pleasant mood that he wasn't really sure ANYTHING could get him down.
"Hahaha, it's okay Yang~. Popcorn's easy enough to pick up and clean up." he gave her hand a tender loving squeeze, smiling beside himself. "We should do it again sometime~. We still need to finish that third movie." he did wonder however if either of them would've been capable of paying attention to it though...
He was momentarily surprised when Yang's scroll buzzed, and saw the message from Todd.... "That message sounded a tad annoyed..." he couldn't help but giggle. "How much money you want to bet he's gonna read us the riot act the second we walk through the door~?"
IS THAT ANY REASON TO LAUGH ALEX-??

"The Riot Act?" she asked looking slightly confused. "He's more bark than bite anyways." She looked down again and gulped.

"Hmm?" he looked himself for a moment at the unsent message, his eyes widening slightly in understanding. ".... Oh... THAT'S WHAT HE'S ANNOYED ABOUT... HUH..." He wasn't really panicking, but the thought of confronting an indignant Todd just did not sound appealing to him today...
DAMMIT AND HE WAS IN SUCH A GOOD MOOD TOO...
"WELL... At least we have SOMETHING of an excuse... You thought you sent that and I didn't see any need to message him since you were...." That information changed literally nothing...

Yang sighed as she reached for the door. "The worse he can do is ground me. Not much else," Yang offered. "And he's a hopeless romantic. I think that might help a little."
The door opened just before Yang touched the nob. Todd looked rather tired and annoyed as another was heard moving about. Yang gulped once more. "Good to see you alive and in one piece. You might as well come in too Alex. I think you might want to meet Yang's guest as well," he commented as he moved aside.
Crescent Rose could be seen leaning against the wall.

Alex had been about to turn and leave when Todd appeared at the door, however the Warlock had spotted him and was quick to invite him in... Trapped by convention... The irony... Letting out a grunt, Alex turned back to the door and gave Todd an annoyed expression... Still, he followed Yang into the room, once more taking in the ever familiar hotel room- THEN HE INSTANTLY NOTICED SOMETHING AMISS... " .... A... Scythe-?" A very familiar scythe... HE wasn't sure if Yang saw it, but HE definitely did... That wasn't what shocked him however... What SHOCKED HIM MORE was the fact that the scythe looked very familiar. INSTANTLY familiar in fact... Could it be-? |

Yang blinked. "Todd.... Is that-" she started to ask before Todd nodded.
"Yes. A scythe. Well not any scythe. Your guest weilds it after all," he replied in a cryptic tone.
Yang peered around Todd to see a dark haired female with red tips. "R-r-r-r-ruby?" she asked in a rather astonished tone.
A sigh came from the woman before turning around and showing some rather nasty scars obscuring the right side of her face. "Hello to you too, Yang. It's been 2 long years," she offered before taking a sip of coffee. "So who's the guy you've got your fingers intertwined with?"

Alex was dumbstruck. SHOCKED AT THE SIGHT OF SUCH A BELOVED CHARACTER IN SUCH A STATE. His eyes were wide and his mouth was partway open. Ruby likely noticed his staring, but he wasn't noticing that at that moment... All he could think was 'What kind of heartless monster would do this to someone as sweet, innocent and wonderful as Ruby Rose... Still as this went on, Alex's grip lightened on Yang's hand, more out of disbelief then much else.

At first, Yang was happy to see Ruby but then she saw the scar. "Who the hell did that to you?" Yang seemed to growl as her grip tightened as opposed to loosening like Alex's had. "If that was by Torchwick or his little helper I will find a way to get back to-" Ruby held up a hand.
"Neither. It was Cinder. She was the mastermind," Ruby answered with a calm tone. "She's in a max security prison now with no chance of getting out- Weiss and Blake saw to that while I was in the hospital recovering."

Alex recovered quickly after hearing this. Cinder... Of COURSE it was her. That girl had been trouble since episode one... What was even more uncomfortable was now he was starting to make sense of the scar... And even worse? Ruby did not seem her usual cheerful self... Heck, not that he couldn't understand... Going without her sister for two year-
Wait...
2 YEARS?
He looked at Ruby oddly, gripping Yang's hand a bit more. "LET'S.... Let's go back a little bit there." He likely caught her attention with that. "You... Said two years..... Yang has really been gone from her home for two years?" Granted he hadn't really thought to ask. It was generally a rule that if you landed on Dimensional Island, the hard part was making your way back. IT wasn't as simple as finding the portal you appeared through and taking it back through. You needed to work and hope for the best with the ITS.
Still... To be gone for two years....
A lot's changed in that amount of time...

Ruby nodded. "Back home yes. Yang has been gone for 2 years. I was in hysterics for the first 6. Heck the first month of it I couldn't get myself out of bed with out being reminded that Yang was missing..." she offered looking down in her cup. "Mind passing me that patch on the end table? I think my scars have been on display enough..."
"Ruby... I'm sorry I was gone so long.... I'm sorry that Cinder hurt you and I'm sorry I didn't get to see you grow up in those two years..." Yang weakly offered. A tone of remorse filled her voice that caught both Ruby and Todd off guard.
Todd accidentally breathed in some of his morning tea which caused a coughing fit.

Alex let go of Yang's hand.
.... Before she could look and ask, he gently pushed her towards Ruby.
He would probably have her for a while, God willing... But Ruby? Ruby had been without such a precious person in her life for two whole years.... There were other things Yang could be doing right now. Things that didn't involve holding his hand.
He just smiled to her and motioned to Ruby simply with a tilt of the head. After, he sat down next to a struggling Todd, pulling out a can of soda from his void modus, opening it up with a hiss.

Yang nodded to Alex before going over to her not-so-little sister and pulling the girl into a hug. Ruby gave a weak smile and hugged back.
Todd caught his breath. "It's good to see them together again. And Alex. Limit yourself with the void stuff around Ruby. She's not exactly aware of things yet," the man whispered to the younger male.
"Now come on. Give me a smile please? Don't make me break out the really bad puns," Yang jokingly threatened as she held back tears.
Ruby couldn't help but let the old Ruby Yang had know show as she started to giggle at her sister's idea of torture.

Alex rolled his eyes at Todd, it's not like he didn't know that, he was just getting a quick dose of caffeine. It looked like he'd be needing it for what was to come. It was likely that Ruby would have a number of questions for him. Questions about all kinds of things. It was Ruby Rose after all.
And the more things changed, sometimes the more they stay the same.
He take a big gulp of his soda, smiling over at the two sisters and their loving reunion. CYYYUUUUUTE~. He smiled a little more, somewhat chuckling.
